there are 0 options for toric lenses outside of natural colors. manufacturers don't give a shit.

>> No.8625867

I say this nearly every thread - if you have a mild to moderate astigmatism (around 1 diopter or less) then it may be fine depending on your own levels of comfort. Mine is -1x180/-1.25x5 plus my myopia and my daily contacts which are optometrist provided are non toric and I'm safe for driving etc, but she recommended toric for monthly/long wear as the lenses are thicker than dailies and likely to be more comfortable that way. I started wearing contact lenses at thirteen and then started wearing colored cosmetic contacts from my doctor at fourteen. I got bored with the colors from the eye doctor so I started wearing circle lenses back in 2007. I never had issues and had only one eye infection from my lens case being dirty. I only recently started having issues with intense dryness because the medications I'm on to control my heart rate and blood pressure has been drying out my tear film. I would say that circle lenses are just slight more uncomfortable than regular contacts not due to bad manufacturing but because Polyhema lenses tends to dry out faster than other hydrogel contact lenses. Basically if you are great with hygiene and have experience with wearing contact lenses, you should be fine. I would say that circle lenses should not be your first experience with contact lenses since they require more responsibility to take care of than regular contact lenses. Which is why I've noticed a large majority of those who do hurt their eyes with circle lenses are below the age of 18.

I've been wearing prescription lenses since I was quite young, and the majority of my experience has been with regular contacts - I only started wearing coloured lenses in my 20s, so over a decade since I first had contacts. So I already knew about proper fit, care etc...and a lack of knowledge about this or ignoring your optometrist is the reason most people have issues. I went through a lazy period as a teenager where I slept in my lenses and gave myself some corneal neovascularisation which means I am at higher risk for multiple issues, but symptom wise I just get irritated eyes more easily and at my last check it wasn't evident at all (I think the blood vessels stay there, but because my eyes are well oxygenated there's less blood flow through the new vessels or something). So yeah, don't do that.

>Were your eyes irritated or very dry to start with?
If they are, then the fit of the lenses is probably wrong for you. Contacts shouldn't cause anything more than a very transient irritation (no more than seconds as the lens settles on your cornea) and any longer indicates something is up either with the lenses or your eyes

>I've also heard that coloured contacts are bad for your eyes.
It's not the lenses per se, it's making sure you buy from reputable sources/manufacturers and know how to look after them, how to spot any defective lenses and being sensible about wearing them.

>Anybody have short/long term problems with them?
I've had some pairs that simply didn't work for me despite having the supposedly correct base curve etc., and caused me constant irritation/foreign body sensation even when clean/the right way around, so I took them out after ten minutes and chucked them out.

First of all I'm gonna apologize for my lack of makeup and terrible photo skills, taking circle lens photos isn't something I've ever done before.

Uh anyway they arrived a few days early which was nice!! The top photo shows my natural eye color as well as the lens, bottom photo is both lenses in obv, also both photos are taken in natural lighting ( I tried sunlight but that made me squint and artificial lighting just made them look really dark on my camera )

I find that they're really comfortable and blend really nicely with my eye color! The hole is smaller than I'm used to as well, which covers up a lot of my natural color instead of it being really obviously there like with most lenses

I have them in pink and red, and that just seems dangerous. Never happened to me. (Red was from PP, Pink was Honeycolor)

EOS New Adult series has some pretty vivid ones. There's also this.

Update on the circle lens situation- uniqso have asked for a higher quality pic than the one I provided in the email. I should of attached both ones I posted here but shits kinda awkward atm as I don't have a laptop bc it's in for a repair. Gonna see if I can borrow a relative's comp to attach higher quality pics. It's kinda awkward but I see where they are coming from and want to make sure I'm not bullshitting them by swapping lenses or whatever.

Looking for natural circle lenses for blue eyes, circle lenses that will blend in. My problem is that I have heterochromia, so light green should be fine too (I might buy both and use 1 from each pair to match my eyes).

Can't really find anything online, dunno where to look. I live in Japan but most lenses sold in the stores here are for brown eyes.

Without sounding special snowflake my eyes are this really weird blue/grey colour and I want some lenses that will enlarge them for photos etc but all the ones I can see are either aqua blue or really fake looking with a black ring, I'm just looking for something sorta natural that will match, any suggestions farmers?

you looking for lolcow?
Also the black ring IS what makes your eyes look bigger. Look up limbal ring

Anyways gulls something weird happened to me. Several weeks ago I tried to order Eos Dolly eye gray from Pinky Paradise but I was pretty sure my order/payment didn't go through since I kept getting error messages. So I gave up and bought them from honeycolor instead. On Saturday I get a package notification from my college. It says "Sender: Germany". I think "Oh that must be my contacts!" And it is. It's a package from HC. I get another package notification labled as "Sender: Germany"
after the post office closes on Saturday, so I go first thing this morning to pick it up. I'm wondering what it could be, as I already received my contacts and I didn't have anything coming in the mail from Germany. It's another pair of Eos dolly eye gray, but from Pinky Paradise. Well now I got two pairs, and I wasn't charged for the PP pair. I'm not sure what to do
Also ps the way HC packages their stuff is better than PP. I had only bought from PP before back when they took paypal, think I'm gonna stick to HC from now on

You could put them up on Lacemarket or sell them to your local com for cheap. I also like the way Honeycolor packages stuff, but I also get extra customs fees for their stuff, whereas pinky always ends up safely in my mailbox.

There have already been some requests for bright blue but I still haven't been able to find a pair of aqua colored lenses that I like.
I really like both lenses this guy is wearing but he got them from some sketchy site (viplenses) and it doesn't even look like the bottom ones cover his iris correctly. Any suggestions for something similar to this level of vibrance for dark eyes?

I'm looking so hard for prescription magenta lenses. (Ideally not just a flat pink colour.) But I've had no luck ;; Everything is either one of those UV reactive flat pink lenses, or is plano. I'm having a bad time, gulls.

Hadn't ordered from Honeycolor before, but the sale was too good to pass. I was expecting soon to expire old merchandise (within year), but I think the lenses are fresh enough (2017/10, 2018/09, 2019/08). Also got free express shipping that took 3 days.

Don't know about damaging lenses, but a lot of people really don't know how to properly handle contacts. Seems more plausible than the lenses being fakes.

Forgot to post this, I'm the anon that ordered from Uniqso and got the leaky lens. These are the dolly+ reds I got in my original order on my eyes. The pupil hole is large so a lot of my eye colour can be seen but I don't mind as they are comfortable and it isn't too noticeable from a distance as the lenses are so vivid.

Why don't you just buy regular circle lenses but use your prescription (whatever the fuck your prescription is). The power is the same for both toric and regular prescription lenses.

I used to wear colored contacts in the past, always bought from swap meets and they were always sub 30 no name brands.

Eye drops are a godsend, after about 4 years I noticed I couldn't wear them like I used to. My eyes got irritated easily, dry and I couldn't keep my eyes open easily.
Rooms with lights were hard to keep my eyes open, driving at night I would see lights more wider, like fog in a windshield.

But these were no name brands, haven't went to a eye doctor since I've been 13 so there's that.

I never got infections but I never jumped into a pool, I used to use regular faucet water and I've maybe accidentally slept in them twice.

Never ever do this. Do not put water on your contacts, only use eyedrops and saline solution. You're INCREDIBLY lucky you never got an infection.

Just, holy shit people, be smart about what you shove on your eyeballs. If you lose those you're kinda SOL.

Just... why. It's full of amoeba that will fester very fast on the moist surface of your eyes.

I just bought a pair of brownish orange, are you in a hurry? Because if not I can make a review once I open them and tell you if they're worth the bother.
It's dolly eye + in their brown, if I remember correctly. They seemed pretty close to what I needed.
