is the bar really that low for anime cons? top 100

>> No.8597213

Aki-con is probably the worst. From counterfeit goods, to moldy buckets of water hanging from the ceilings and falling on people, and let's not forget the date rape! I'm honestly surprised it's still a thing.

Isn't that every con? Minus the moldy buckets of water part

Most cons don't hire known sex offenders to DJ just because they are friends with the people running the con.

And most cons haven't been run in parking garages with no power!

That was proven false, though

he wasn't convicted because there wasn't enough evidence...

Exactly, so bring some damn evidence next time

So is Akicon really shit? It's been quite a while since my last event, and since I missed Kumoricon I was looking into this instead of waiting 6 months for Sakura Con.

Should I just bite the bullet and wait?

they advertised at PAX, which I feel to be a challenge.
Can I ghost this con?

Yes, just like getting arrested

The girl had cum from three different guys in her, not one of them him, or her boyfriend, but they were seen together. Pretty sure they were just drunk and she is desperate to be famous so changed her mind in the morning.

He is a known sex offender. He was convicted in another state prior to Aki-Con.

He just wasn't convicted for "raping" the most recent "victim", as there wasn't enough evidence.

He was arrested in WA state b/c he was on parole for his prior conviction and was not supposed to leave the state that he came from, but he did. So he's in jail again.

I know a few people who hang outside Akicon in cosplay, but don't bother getting a badge to go inside. Any artists worth their salt won't go near it after the leaking garage year.

I'm not sure why it hasn't closed down yet. Aside the scandals, it just seems unnecessary. Sakuracon in spring is the big anime convention in the Puget Sound, so why do we need another?

For people looking for smaller conventions in the area, there are already plenty of nicer alternatives like GeekGirlCon.

Leslie Shotwell, aka Victor Malice, IS a registered sex offender.
What happened at Aki Con with the special guest is up in the air, but he spent 4 years in jail for what he did in Arizona.

Pic related, it's his mugshot.

They're low on the list, but on the list.

Ok, but see, if you want him banned at Aki-con and the owners aren't listening to you then you need to get the proof enough for ANOTHER conviction (which will be a longer jail sentence because it's a repeat offense) to ban him from Seattle too.
Problems solved with common sense.
