It just looks like a jacket overtop a tunic. The jacket is only buttoned at the top, which leaves it mostly open. The collar is part of the tunic, at least that's how the figure sets it up. The tunic under looks pleated, that's at least how I've seen it interpreted.

most jojo's past the middle of part 4 are pretty feminine other than certain characters. i feel like for him you could get away with mascara and subtle eyeliner, with a nude shadow to make your eyes pop. always use foundation and concealer. if you don't know how to apply, tutorials on youtube are you friends.

Cosplayers with heavy amounts of makeup when the character probably wouldn't wear any is one of my pet peevees... but honestly with Jojo you can go crazy without it looking out of place. Maybe not super much for part 1 and 2 characters, but someone like Annasui would look weirder without any.

Thanks for your reply ! Aside the eyes and lips I was planning to add primer so the makeup would last longer, matte foundation and loose powder for t area and maybe some light bronzer since the character has more of a baby face.

Been trying to figure out components for a DIO cosplay, and I'm not really sure how to go about making the hearts-on-bands he's got as accessories. I don't know how useful this is, but here it is.

I used a civil war uniform pattern for the base. (McCall's M4745) Style B is straight up a Japanese boy's school uniform. Only major modifications I made were not using the front/back extension at the bottom to make it shorter and like, tripled the height of the collar.

For the front flap I put together the base of the jacket, no sleeves or collar, and left the side seam open under the arm hole.
Then I placed a wide sheet of newspaper over the front and traced out the shape I wanted and extended out the part under the arm. I cut that out, put it back over the jacket to make sure it looked alright, made adjustments by taping on extra newspaper to the bottom.
Then you just use it like a normal pattern. Trace it on fabric and cut it. I extended the part under the arm much longer than the pattern shows to give myself extra to work with.

From there, you sandwich the underarm part between the two sides of the side seam and sew it as normal. You can trim any extra on the inside.

I plan on adding velcro to the jacket to make the flap stay closed.

Hey everyone, I'm a machinist and I machined out Guido Mista's revolver for my cosplay. The cylinder can open up and lock in place with a spring loaded thumb release, and .38 special dummy rounds can be loaded in for extra effect. I'll post more pics soon!

Cylinder opened up, I've stripped the paint since the picture, and will re-paint it tomorrow.

This is the Guido cosplay to go along with the gun, its a WIP of course. I might re-make the hat one day, but I'm happy with it at the moment.

Did I mention I can actually drop bullets from my hat? I have them on pieces of fishing wire that slide down when I tilt my head forward quickly. Its going to be super cool for pictures! I'll upload a vid once the cosplay is more complete.

Oh! That was me (Suzie Q) that posed in the WIP in progress thread many many weeks ago. I felt bad because I saw some people reply and I wanted to get back to them. (Liza Liza anon, I hope you dressed up for D*con!)

I wished I allowed more time to work on the costume. I thought I was prepared since I started 2 months earlier... but school/work/move out of state got in the way. Last week, I was pulling all nighters between classes so I could just try to finish sanding. We also didn't have stuff finished so we just missed the jojo shoot on Sat to finish up the eyepeice. I was just curious as to what was going to be done because there was no bangs there...I just wasn't sure to be honest so I was just curious of the plan.

I did a genderswaped version but I used Ferrari & bought some wefts. I sewed the wefts around the bangs and worked into that. the extra sewed in wefts helped with adding more to the bangs and it was pretty easy to curl. The bangs that were already in acted as a base.

That hair style could work as a casual/stealth/alt version cosplay if you're into that stuff, but as a "proper" cosplay I'd advise against it. Jolyne's hair is so awesome that frankly I don't know why you wouldn't want to be as accurate as possible with it.

I think I'll make the wig with a purple base and buns with pink bangs and braids, kind of like how Ukraine Kraine made her Irene wig. For lips and eyes, I was thinking pink.

I made some shitty edits on Photoshop for possible ways to coordinate which colors to use. The first one is the original. I think the 3rd option looks best overall, but the 1st or 2nd would be more accurate to the artwork. Any thoughts?

I wanted to keep the colors the same. Yeah the skirt looks pleated to me as well. Hand embroidering would look SO nice. I'm sort of just getting a hang on that myself with a different project. If it works out I'd like to do the same. But otherwise I'd probably paint them on.
