Uchuukei is pretty cute and i kinda like it.
I wish for the whole cutesy retro-futuristic thing to become bigger. I wish there was something such as dressing like 90s anime characters. Sailor Moon casual outfits for example (dont judge me i still like Rei's pink overalls.)

My guess for a new big trend is creepy-cute that's significantly more creepy than cute. Everyone's getting boners over Junji Ito print shirts it seems.

Judging by the threads, Larme is going to be fairly popular. I don't see it hitting other jfashion levels though since it's not as flashy as other styles (well, if you're not wearing swankiss then it's not flashy).

I want something akin to the vintage-styled lolita to become it's own style.

Like rockabilly, but good.

I predict after this soft babydoll, nymphet stuff in Larme, we'll see a swing back to darker and edgier styles eventually. I predict a type of gothic revival someday as well.

I think gyaru will also rise from the ashes in some form again, too. It's gotten really out of character as of late. I think anime related goods and otaku culture will get more and more acceptable.

It use various films as inspiration for photo shoots and outfits aesthetically including Harry Potter, and Cinderella. The Lolita/50s American diner look is just one influence, the main embracing element in Larme being a sweet girly look and not slutty little daddy's girl type of thing.

Otome is gaining popularity in the West and will get bigger. I think it's a reaction to how OTT lolita has become, and I feel like people are yearning for more simplified looks.
The issue is that some of the lolitas dabbling with otome are putting out really watered down coords. I know I'm guilty of it myself, but I feel like the lack of rules otome-kei has is hard for lolitas to grasp. It's also not as matchy-matchy or as safe as lolita which may prove to be a big obstacle.

I get that ; Tumblr isn't the last word in everything that's going on in the U.S. never mind the rest of the western world, but, keeping it Jfashion related, it is a reasonable representation of alot of (not all) westerner's reaction to and version of certain Japanese trends. The fact that Larme magazine, Kumamiki, Senanan, Ikeda Hirari, Juria and other well known names in Jfashion all have Tumblr accounts tells me they have an awareness of this media platform that goes beyond 'not giving a shit' about it (and in turn westerners in general as it is a westerner social media site). I don't know as far as where jfashion will go, but I'd really like to see more of Uchuukei, I feel like it really falls inline with mainstream fashion trends now and upcoming.
I work for Lord and Taylor and in my position I go through all the lookbooks and merchandising guidelines for the new releases before hand of the brands we carry, and with this last spring season and this current fall season I'm super excited with where fashion in the US I see is going. In handbags, shoes, jewelry, clothing, all of it, they are using a lot of plastic and silicon and going towards a futuristic vib like "in the future" scenes you'd see in movies ~10 years ago(think the fifth element, maybe? futurama even??). It's just so fucking exciting, more and more I see people wearing wigs everyday casually in nontraditional colors or colored lenses or something that just isn't a norm really and is becoming accepted.
Another thing is activewear. It's a booming business right now, and it's really pushing in those bright colors, geometric designs, and form fitting or stiff fabrics. It's really going to shape the way fashion goes, and push us further into that "futuristic" look I was talking about.
