I'd say the best way would be to reblog posts from time to time and post your own things, and allow people to comment on you posts (you can change that in the settings), I start discussions that way with my mutuals mostly.

I might try to do that while studying once college starts (in one week for me), but I mostly use tumblr to talk about my hobbies. I go online a lot in general because I study English and Japanese as foreign languages so it helps me getting used to reading both languages outside of college. I think doing my homework before anything else once I have free time will help, thanks for the tip.

I think I'll delete the mobile application for now, it's better than nothing.
