Since the old one died,, here's another.

Would anyone be interested in a larme dedicated tumblr?
I have a name saved and am willing it build it into something nice if there's an interest.

>> No.8562921

I've been trying to build a new wardrobe recently and have been really into the larme magazines. However, it seems to me that what pulls together the larme look is more hair and makeup then clothes. With out the "innocent" look; its just pastel clothing.

>> No.8563453

I would definitely be interested, I've had a hard time finding where this style gets posted regularly on Tumblr.

Would be interested if it's legit larme, with coordinates and shop updates

There are some Larme kei tumblr's already:

Fyeahlarmekei
Bear-tears
Larme-kei
Larme-tips (their places to shop for Larme makes me side eye though. I'm not sure they know what they're doing)

What would you do differently from those OP? If you know some Japanese (or can fake it) brand release info might be nice.

Evil Larme Scan List:

Nothing here has full scans and most of the "Scans" are complete shit quality (except the akb ones), so no need to get up in arms anti-scans crusaders.

It won't let me post the links directly to cgl, so here they are: http://pastebin.com/gffZh8UL

I'm glad it's helpful. Obviously I'm not advocating for full scans or anything, but I hope having all those references will help with some of the "but what is Larme??????" questions we've had in previous threads.

As for Larme tips well, that makes sense. I guess I won't rag on them too hard then.

With that said I kind of want to try finding some stuff that would work for Larme on places like the f21 website just to see if it can be done. I'll post anything I find but I'm not expecting much.

Ok, I gave this a shot. Please excuse my crappy editing. I added a black bag and black shoes to balance out the stark white and got rid of that nasty hair model.

The bag is the wego x larme collab bag and the shoes are mon lily (you can't get the shoes from their store anymore but there are taobao replicas).

This dress is a bit difficult because I feel like it almost falls into the too-frumpy category, but the right accessories might salvage it. I didn't add too much in the way of accessories to this since I'm not sure what would look best

I have to ask though, is this a dress that you already own or one you're thinking of getting? Because even on clearance it's still $90, and you could get real Larme brands for that price. Unless you're getting it because you can't fit into Japanese clothes, in which case I understand. Still, I think you could actually thrift the sweater and dress combo for much cheaper.

No problem! Sorry it's so basic. If you want to play things up you can add another accent color, like pink or lavender. But I think the black works well since the chunky white sweater is such a big focal point. If you did an all white coord, you might look like a ghost haha. But that's just my personal opinion, plus I'm really liking the black pieces that have been in Larme lately.

Styling for Larme really seems to be in the details. Ribbons, ruffles, and frills etc. I've been looking at normie stores just to see if I can replicate the style with non-Japanese brands (not because I refuse to buy Japanese clothes, just as a challenge and to help people who can't fit Japanese brand) and it's proving to be quite difficult. While it might not be impossible to replicate with Western brands, it would take a lot of work and possible customization. Like adding some ribbons or a ruffled hem.

Some of the more simple larme coords, like pic related, can definitely be replicated with items just from western stores.

Idk about anywhere else, but this almost neo-lolita style is in fashion here atm. Lots of bardot tops, gingham and floaty skirts around. Big chunky shoes seem to be in right now too.

>> No.8570496

True, but a person with bad makeup and hair in a lolita coord is still recognizable as lolita whereas you wouldn't really call the same person in a larme coord "larme".

except for perhaps the bag.

At least with accessories like this bag it doesn't matter if you can fit Japanese brands or not. So the best option for girls who are sized out of Japanese brands would be to do simple coords and spice it up with accessories, whether bought from Japan or no. There are lots of storenvy/etsy sellings who sell chokers and hair accessories that would work for Larme, like things with pom pom and velvet ribbons.

I agree with you anon, I've been following Larme for a bit but even now I couldn't tell you what the main pointers for the style are, yet with lolita it's way easier to explain.

On that subject, to what degree do you guys think Larme can be pulled off using normalfag brands? Because as much as I like the items japanese brands produce, I'm way too tall for those.

>> No.8573055

>>8573042
I think it can be done, since it's more about the styling and feel than the individual items. It'll just be a little harder than if you go to a brand that caters to that specific aesthetic.

How tall are you anon? I really like saramari's Larme outfits and she's 5'8" and still manages to pull off some Japanese brands. Pic related. I wish she posted more worn pics.

I think it can be done, but it won't be as easy as just wearing pastel clothes with the right makeup. I think some people in these threads really underestimate the clothes. Pay attention to the girly details like lace, ribbons, scallops, ruffles. Sure, you can do a simple coord, but it's doubtful that anyone will recognize your outfit as Larme. Hate to say it, but as a non-Japanese person you need to try that much harder at the style.

Try saving a few of your favorite pages from the scans list on your phone (assuming you have a smartphone) and bring it along with you while shopping. Try to recreate the outfits. You might be well served by thrift shops, which can have a more offbeat selection than your local fast fashion retailer. But you might have luck at those places too.

I'll be honest with you though I tried to recreate a Larme look for fun using f21's website but gave up because nothing seemed quite right. I kept feeling like something was missing. Local stores might have better selections though.

You should really watch the video in
>>8572959 post because a lot of good points pop up, but yes that narrator... Ugh. If you can screen out her voice and absorb the information and visuals it should help. To sum up; sweet girly style with hint of the dark and sombre in tone or feel (might explain the name, larme=tears). Being cute without looking like a child, so sweet but mature. There's a sensual, almost coquettish feel to the look, without being overtly sexual or slutty if you get what I mean. Subdued pastel colours are used often in outfits either as a main overall outfit colour scheme but often with black items or an outfit can be just black with white. Cute motifs like cherries and strawberries are used alot. Alot of the outfits have a 50s look albeit via contemporary Jfashion.

Maybe you can do longer skirts? Kind of like the pencil skirt I posted, but one of the ones without the bib, since you have the long torso problem.

Here's an outfit you could probably thrift easily, since peplums were big a while back. If you wanted something Japanese, you could get a bag from WEGO. Bags don't care how tall you are.

glad it works for you! My chrome must hate it for some reason. But yes, it's mp4 so it should work on mobile devices.

I'd appreciate it if a few of your could download it to keep a copy, since it's likely to get taken down. k.i. is very strict about that kind of thing. I might make a short cut that just includes the larme parts in the future. (That kawaii contest thing is an embarassing mess anyway. Holy shit the hosts of this show have no fucking clue what they're doing)

I found the brands list from a previous larme thread. Anon who posted said they were from the July 2015 issue. IF anyone has other brands from 17, or even older issues, then that would be great.

Does anyone have suggestions for off brand larme kei? Unfortunately my only find has been Joe Fresh girl's ruffle topped socks. Also I see a lot of baby blue gingham, but not pink! Is is still appropriate in larme?

im sure the pink gingham would work just as well, the important part is to capture the larme feel

So if i get it larme is:
>cute,soft colours
>simple yet cute designs with things like little frills, lace, tiny ribbons,...
>soft and innocent overall but with a bit of sensuality by showing some skin

I think the blue would still work well. What's the hue? Is it baby blue or a deeper blue? I think you can use both for Larme, but the styling might be different. A cuter, more playful style for the baby blue and maybe something more mature but still girly a la Risa might work for a deeper blue.

Also have you tried looking at vintage stuff? A lot of Larme clothing looks like it's based off older styles, a lot of 50s and 60s inspired. They did have that Lolita theme once. The key would be to style it Larme, by picking the right accessories and makeup. An easy way would be to pick up a vintage dress with some sort of girly detail like ribbons or ruffles and pairing it with a low heel with lace socks and adding some girly earrings. The lace socks with pumps look would push it away from strictly vintage or that twee mod cloth look. Go through the entire scans list and try to keep that in mind when you're searching. Not everything vintage will be a good fit.

I'm still having trouble finding good stuff in mainstream stores. A lot of it just seems too basic to work. I'm not interested in doing a simple, barely-even-Larme coord.

I honestly don't really get the skin thing they're talking about. The sensuality is more due to the makeup, imo. A lot of Larme I feel is rather tame in terms of how much skin is shown. It really depends on the coord.

I'm trying to build a wardrobe Larme-inspired and just recently I bought this dress cheap from a girl who was selling secondhand clothes on facebook. It looked light blue on the photos, but at the moment I got it it was more like a turquoise-blue... she mentioned the missing button and I thought of hiding it with a bow. What do you think? Is it okay to try it with a larme inspired outfit?

To be honest I don't see this working for Larme at all, but maybe someone else has some ideas.

Here's a weird outfit from Larme 14. Not turquoise but it is a deep blue.

I'm with this anon
>>8585156 concerning the teal dress/top I can't see it working. The thing about this style is, as a Westerner who isn't literally on a Larme magazine photoshoot you have to kind of step up your game a bit. So if you were to wear something that isn't typically seen as Larme (especially by your fellow Westerners) even though it may even be in the actual magazine, such as that deep blue dress you have to work extra hard at achieving that effect.
Like >>8585032 said I wouldn't want to do something that is barely passable as Larme kei.

This exactly. I posted the dress because it was strange even for Larme, but I feel like it might be difficult for a Western to make it look like Larme. Granted, this was from one of the LArme theme photoshoots, so that's why it's different by even Larme standards. It's not from their run of the mill brand coord pages.

Like here, this is a simple coord that was in Larme but honestly on a Westerner it's probably gonna look just plain boho. That's just the nature of things.

Aomoji is based on styles from Zipper and Kera mostly, so no, not really. Swankiss is still Larme, just like you said more OTT.

Thanks. Actually, I was thinking about dyeng the dress another color (black or dark blue), the ruffles on the top part look off so I would modify those parts too. I get what you said about stepping up for a more Larme feel.

Going off what I said here, I tried my hand at a Larme coord with a vintage dress as the base. I decided to go for a simple, red & white coord using these two pages from Larme. This was just a for fun coord, so I did some fast searching. You could probably find better versions of what I chose.

4chan thinks my source links are spam, so they're here if you want them: http://pastebin.com/CN6jbVYE

For the bag, I chose an old syrup bag that's no longer available. You can get similar pillow/frill tote bags from wego, katie, etc. Alternatively, you can make your own. Here's a tutorial: http://lifessweetessentials.com/how-to-make-a-ruffle-pillow-tote-bag-part-1/

Finish it the look off with some larme makeup and red hair ribbons. You can add the heart glasses if you want too, they're easy enough to find.

So yeah, tell me if you guys think this totally sucks, but I wanted to try an off brand coord and this is what I came up with on the first try. The vintage dress is a key point for me, since I don't think I'm going to find something as detailed as this in normie fashion, at least not easily. You can then pad out the rest of the coord with mainstream store items.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask and if not I'm sorry, I'll try somewhere else. So I was wondering if you guys know any gothic or alternative/rock jfashion magazines?

You can get all those things on eBay and Aliexpress for inexpensive prices, use search terms like bow, ribbon bow, chiffon bow, lace hairpin, etc chose the option that let's you view items from lowest price first. I've seen starting prices for hair accessories suitable for Larme on Aliexpress as low as 0.16p. Same for the thigh highs, and other minor items that don't necessarily need to be brand, use relevant search terms. Goes without saying, make sure you check seller feedback.
