Has anyone used diet pills to fit into a cosplay before? What about extreme diets? Everything I want to cosplay shows stomach but I don't want to be the fatty that has the huge gut spilling out.

Not for cosplay reasons, but I've used diet pills before because my family has a twisted mind when it domes to skinny vs. fat. Family comments about how I've gained weight (~110 pounds), so I took diet pills to look better. I eat healthy, exercise regularly, have hardly any junk food, but the fact that I don't have toothpick legs like my other cousins makes me the fatty. I've stopped taking diet pills and weigh 103, but apparently I'm still considered "fat".

To keep things more /cgl/ related, my friends use dieting pills regularly to look good in cosplay. None of them eat particularly healthy or exercise at all, but they all manage to look good (the perks of is being young). Around con time they maybe only eat once or twice a day and only snack during actual con days.

I often do a water retention routine to get a better muscle definition but it's difficult in the summer during con season.

I've also used DNP before to lose bodyfat and keep muscle but I wouldn't recommend doing it without thorough investigation. It can and will kill you if you fuck up your dose. /fit/ practically always has a DNP thread up if you want to know more about it.
P.S. it's super illegal and don't fuck up

If you eat white bread you can replace it with whole grain. And the positive effect of cutting out bread will be that you have to start eating a lot of veggies and meat or fish instead. I replaced bread in the morning with yogurt and fruit or avocado or egg.

If you want a flat stomach or visible abs you have to basically base your entire existance around working towards it.

If you're "eating healthy" you aren't eating healthy enough.

You need to track your caloric intake and exercises with autistic levels of dedication. You need to never cheat. You'll probably feel like shit a lot of the time, but it can be worth it.

Currently trying to lose 2 stone in 10 weeks for a con. Currently weight 150-ish at 5'4 and my measurements are 37-27-40.
I want to get my waist down to under 26" and tone up my arms.

porridge for breakfast, half hour walk to gym, gym for an hour, walk home, salad or something <200 calories for lunch, then do my weight sets which are just lots of reps of light weights. Then dinner which today is a salmon puree on a bagel with salad.

Snacks of berries and other small bits of veg.

Also taking herbal caffine pills which are supposed to help you lose weight and keep up energy levels. probs won't work but I'm hoping that my brain falls for it and keeps up my energy levels.

Also drinking tea with lactose free semi skimmed milk whenever I'm hungry.

I'm not very tall so to look decent in costume I have to be slim. Else I come off too blocky everywhere but my waist.

At the start of this year, my bf and I started going to the gym 3-4 days a week, for at least an hour each time. We lifted free weights combined with different cardio exercises. We both started eating healthier, though I still ate better than him (only drink was water, lean protein, raw fruits/veggies, etc.). He started losing fat and gaining definition easily, yet I seemed to keep my belly fat and made only visible gains in my chest and arm muscles. My clothes don't fit any better. I always feel extremely bloated and my stomach is almost always distended/hard to the touch unlike fat, which is squishy.

I have a digestive disorder and a very slow colon. TMI but before the lifestyle change I was going to the bathroom maybe once a week (once every 7-8 days). After starting it, once every 3-5 days. I'm starting to suspect this has something to do with my weight loss problem. I'm holding on to food for such a long time, I'm wondering if it's affecting my metabolism.

When I went to the gastro doc, his only rec was to "exercise, drink water, and eat more fruits/veggies for fiber!" I'm so fucking confused.

This. I eat about 1200-1400 calories a day, do about 30 minutes of gentle exercise a day in my home gym, and go for a quick jog every day. I also do zumba 1-2 times a week. That is more exercise than a lot of the people I know. I've got a bit of chub, but a) according to my doctor I'm perfectly healthy and b) honestly, I like my life as it is. I like having a slice of cake every now and again, and spending more time on other hobbies than exercise.

If you're happy and it doesn't affect your health, do you really care? Does it really matter?

When I started working out, I would poop 2-3 times a day. Even when I wasn't healthy, I would poop once a day. The only time I was only going once a week was when I was bulimic and I would fast for weeks at a time. When I'm feeling anxious my appetite goes out the window and it can happen that I have like one meal per day. That usually lasts for 2-3 days and those weeks I usually don't go even once or have massive anxiety-induced shitfests.

Elaborate on the water retention routine? Do you just cut back on salt and drink more water?

>> No.8558278

>>8558243
Yeah, what you wanna do is make sure that you drink about 1-2 liters of water, not soda but water, a day for 2-3 weeks or so before the con. Your body holds water as a backup of sorts in your cells. If you drink enough water it won't store as much.
Next is cutting back on things high in sodium, soup, fastfood, processed food all that jazz. Eat veggies high in water like lettuce to get even more fluids in your system.
As a last step you wanna visit the sauna after you work out in order to sweat the internally held water out. Granted, this will be replenished over time but it's a good thing to do 1-3 days before the con.
Also stop drinking alcohol for like two weeks as it's very dehydrating.

Granted, if your body fat % is higher than 12 or so this won't do much good for a guy as you just have to eat less in that case. It's more meant for people who can see their top abs easily when flexing and standing up but need that extra definition.

Hope that helps, there are many more sources and guides online on water retention.

Going on a temporary or fad diet is stupid. As soon as you go back to old habits, your body will just follow. Just cut shit out of your diet that you don't need and you will lose weight. Checking the composition of food is quite important, because you'd be surprised what shit is in certain foods, just don't start being completely religious about it to the extent you develop a disorder. Processed food should just be avoided like the plague, eat fresh if possible.

Exercise really helps too, but if you're not serious about changing your eating habits, you will see very slow change. It's true when they say "abs are made in the kitchen". You won't see anything if it's covered in a layer of fat.

If you are following this and you think it's not working, go see a doctor or dietician. I was struggling to lose weight for months and was tired as heck, and it turned out that I had a thyroid problem. Not that you should automatically use anything like that as an excuse. I have bad days where I still feel shit, but I still get out and try some kind of exercise.

gonna do a serious answer . if you want a temporary weight loss solution I suggest the military diet http://themilitarydiet.com/military-diet-plan/

if you want a more permanent solution then I recommend dowloading a calorie counter app and try to not eat more than 1200-1400 calories a day. you won't lose ten pounds in three days, but you'll be more likely to keep the weight off

Eat well and excercise. I used to pretty much stop eating a few weeks before cons to drop a bit of weight but I'm far happier just watching what I eat all the time and not starving myself. I know it sounds boring and a pain but it's the best way to go about it.
I'm still a bit bad around cons if I'm showing my body though, the last time I cosplayed a male character with a visible stomach I modified a body builders comp lead up diet for me in order to make sure I had the most abs possible on the day.

Apparently if you exercise on an empty stomach (you can drink water) it helps your body burn calories better and helps even out hunger pangs, though obviously you have to eat properly at some point during the day. It seems to have worked with me, I haven't been doing it long enough to notice a definite change in waist size but I feel full quicker and I'm not nearly as hungry as I was before.

I think it's partly because people drink coffee with a shitton of sugar and milk and assorted additives like flavoured syrups.
Also, coffee has a lot of caffeine (shocking information, I know). If you want to increase metabolism through caffeine, tea is a good substitute. You don't want to crash halfway through your workout after all.
