Kotori! I've done green swimsuit, winter uniform, Christmas outfit, white day, Wonderful Rush and cheerleader so far. Debuting seven lucky gods costume in a week or so as well. (I haven't taken photos of a lot of these yet, though)

I don't know! I love a lot of them. I do really like the marine outfits that were just released, along with the cyber and bridal outfits.

Not in the USA unfortunately. There is a screening planned for my city but they haven't announced a date yet.

Yep! We're hoping to do a full bridal group. We were going to do the movie outfits but not everyone in our group likes them, plus we figure everyone will do them anyway. And brides are universally popular!

Also I laser cut some flowers from bridal satin for the flower crown because I could find any fake 4 point flowers I liked. Hoping sewing them down to some elastic with an iridescent bead will work. I might make more that are a little closer to the shape in the reference

Why do so many ugly girls do LL cosplays? At the end of the day, everyone is playing dress up so I usually ignore it but it seems idol shows draw in some hideous people...or people that literally can't makeup.

Ok, posted this on the last thread but got no answers, so I'd figure I'd try again: Does anyone have any clue how to style the detachable loop clip thing that comes with some kotori wigs? I've been having zero luck

The way I did mine is lay it flat, fold it over in half, then tie it off with a small elastic and puff out the "bun" as needed. I fluff/tease the tuft of hair out a bit and clip it in. It usually requires a lot of pins to stay in place though.

Mine just came with a clip on 'ponytail' piece if that's what you'd call it. What I did was take a piece of wig, made the loop, and hair sprayed it stiff. I then took the pony clip and clipped it directly below the loop(this also helps the loop stay up).
The weird part of her hair is just a comb-over and not actually part of the loop. Hope this helps a little.

I love Kotori. I really do, she's very nearly my best girl, but what the fuck is going on with her hair. I know it's unique and stand out, but it's so weird, I can't get past it. I see what you're saying, but they can't just keep getting more and more elaborate every time or else they would end up ridiculously cluttered. Gotta go back to the basics sometimes. I bet there's some subset of fans who prefer that, too, and you know how they have to cater to every kind of customer. Anyway I think they've really stepped it up as far as the artwork goes, which is what really counts. I had two saved up scouting tickets and got normals. Then I did the 11+ scouting from my saved up loveca and got my forth UR, the green Nozomi mermaid. I nearly died.
Then I got a blue SR Umi from the 5 voucher scouting.
All in all, it was a pretty damn good morning.

The more silly hair styles in the show just kind of feel like being in high school and trying to come up with your own super-special-unique-signature style. So I feel like I'm having an identity crisis. I have always, always loved Nozomi and she has been my main girl from the second I first laid eyes on her. But I don't know anymore. She's so popular and at the LL gathering at AX there were dozens of Nozomis and very few Honokas. Every group looks for a Honkers. I've started to become attached to her too, and while I'm too chubby to cosplay either of them right now I am losing weight and I plan to in a half of a year. How did you gulls pick which girl to cosplay? Do you think any of them are underrepresented cosplay wise? Any advice for me?

Thank you! The biggest problem is I wore it so far to only small cons and haven't gotten a proper photoshoot for it yet, so all the pictures are bad and I'm really squinty (plus I didn't have my Nico Nico Smile figured out or my makeup). Maybe once I get better photos for it I'll post! I love this outfit so much so I'll definitely wear it more.

Speaking of cons, I want to do pic related but I'm not sure what LEDs to go with. An important thing to remember gulls: Love Live is appealing to a very wide range of fans, and easy to get into for a casual anime goer. This, coupled with numerous outfits per character and the ability to buy cheap but well constructed costumes, results in a cosplayer base that is mostly store bought. Rather than hate on them, accept them and offer some advice on their costume. Maybe they could make something look a little more professional by adding some texture, or maybe there's loose threads or a hole and you can help them out. Basically, rather than going "storebought costumes suck you are an insult", teach them about sewing. They're usually new to the scene, scared about making and entering something new, and knowing that a good chunk of the work will be done for them is reassuring. Teach them and hopefully, they'll flourish.

My Cyber Nico fabric arrived today! I'm very happy with it, but I'll have to be careful with the grain. Depending on the light, the shimmer really changes. It's less pink in person, the light right now is really prime for bright colours and I took these with a phone camera. All I have to wait for now is my bank to process my deposit and then I can run to Joann's! Let's hope it comes tomorrow.

For those wondering, I'm fairly certain this is 100% lycra, it's pretty heavy too, unlike the dance fabric at Joann's. I got it from syfabrics.
