Well to buy them new you can get them off alice-books, she occasionally does reprints and they'll be sold there, apart from that you'd need to either look for Japanese sites to buy them off using a shopping service or get them off eBay, but they are suuuuper overpriced on ebay.

Exactly what >>8530838 implied - the whole point of a corset is to give you waist definition, no matter how thick around you are. Corsets look good on literally every bodytype unless you are a planet.

I agree that the lack of corsets in Sakizou cosplay is very bizarre. Are that many Sakizou cosplayers just lazy/afraid of them, or do they genuinely not know how to make one?

Unpopular opinion, I think these designs always end up looking like shit on cosplayers. It's always the fatties who ruin them. If you can't look accurate to the art then don't do it. No one wants to see your fat squished out from under your corset. Shit is gross in person. The artist would agree.

Corsets can be difficult. There's a lot of little things that can go wrong during construction and be very intimidating to someone who has never done something with such structure.

I know the first time I tried to do a corset I thought it would be easy and ended up just putting it away out of frustration (couldn't get the lining and outer fabric seams to line up, despite measuring like thirteen times! Plus the boning channels were frustrating...)

It's easy to embellish a detail vomit outfit like Sakizou and make an outfit look pretty on the outside with shit construction on the inside, but corsets are a lot tougher.

AFAIK, Sakizou Art Works only has profiles so there isn't one.

I can dump any of these if someone is interested, but I have VERY few scans from some of the incomplete books, especially Mon Amour Du Cirque (or La Cirque, I'm frankly not sure if my scans are from that or Mon Amour) and Dress Up Dolls. I would love if anyone had scans of those.

It's from Alice's World 2 and I can post better scans of it seeing as I found it. The other one I have no idea as I didn't post it but seeing as it's from 2008 it probably ended up in a book dated from that year.

If you've got the money for it, I seriously recommend buying a corset (or having it made if your measurements are odd) and fitting costumes over it, rather than trying to make one for each costume. Don't get one of the fancy satin or brocade ones with any kind of trim. Look for the kind reenactors use, they're usually some kind of cotton denim type fabric and very plain, often white or beige. Pick it by the actual shape, you want it to be pretty versatile, so usually something straight or slightly heart-shaped on top and not overly pointed at the bottom is best, and of course make sure its right for your measurements. With this kind of corset, you can make your top to fit smoothly over it and look as if its all one piece. The upside to this method is not only will your costumes look smooth and structured, but you can make several 'covers' for just the one corset and save a lot of time and money on boning and patterns. If the corset is definitely just going to be for cosplay you can even put snaps or hooks on it and corresponding snaps on the covers to ensure a perfect smooth finish.

Orchard Corset and Isabella Corsetry sell nice corsets. People like Timeless Trends, although I personally find them kind of tubular. Corset Story/ Corsets UK are AWFUL. I actually bought from them despite all the warnings, and the fit was awful and it really hurt to wear. They are the Milanoo of corsets.
