What would be the best way to get that argyle pattern on to a shirt? My friends just say "just buy a regular argyle sweater vest" but it's just not the same.

I have a finished bloody Marie cosplay at home (just gonna put some lights in the back) that I haven't worn yet because the con I planned on wearing it to turned out be too hot (40 Celsius and a black dress... No thanks)
