I got in a small clothes order from a while ago. Enjoying most of it so far.

Looking to buy cute, cheapo stuff for my dorm room such as an old fashioned alarm clock, organization items, decorations, etc. I'm working with limited space and a color scheme with a pale/pastel pink and green, white, a pale dusty blue, and roses and flowers as sort of a motif. The color doesn't have to be perfect if its a cool item. Ant suggestions? I'm doing some searching by myself but looking for reviews/ideas too.

I don't know if they have any English, I just use Google Translate to communicate and it has worked out incredibly well. There is very little communication involved, actually. It's basically, you order the stuff on Taobao, it arrives and they take pics, you then select the check boxes on what you want to send, click the big blue submit button and work away from there!

In saying that I did have to communicate with them earlier yesterday over a question I had. Basically I wasn't too sure when to pay them for the parcel, used their online chat function, used google translate and got my answer.

So far, I'm really liking them and surprisingly enough their EMS rates are reasonable and apparently the more you ship, the more points you get, the more points you get the more storage you get and I think you can use them against shipping costs too.

My only tip is, if you are gonna use them pay via Alipay. Paypal's conversion rate is wank

(I'll properly review them and I can make a registration guide when my stuff comes in. It's EMS so it shouldn't take too long.)

Those are some photos of that wig and they are from the same store as the bottom row of wigs. The one problem with that store is that the wigs are not always true to the color in the pictures as a few of the times I've ordered from them they've either been a few shades darker or a few shades lighter and there's not a lot of variation between their shades (even though they have many options). The wigs themselves hold up great though. They are very soft and don't tangle easily. I love them!

Now in the picture attached is the top left wig a year after I bought it (sorry I don't have any better pictures and the wig has now been lost so I can't take a better one). One thing I will say about Lucaille wigs is that I often times feel they're a bit hit or miss on the texture. Like this wig for instance came a bit course and has stayed that way. Yet the wigs themselves are gorgeous. This is by far my favorite wig I've ever owned even with the slight texture problem (and I'm hoping that a year later that that might no longer even be an issue). The great thing about her wigs is that I've never had a wig cap show, they fit great, and they look incredibly natural for synthetic. She always seems to include highlights and lowlights and not just one sold block of color like many wig creators do. They truly are lovely and hold up reasonably well as like I said, the picture was taken after about a year of wear and I wore that wig more than any of my other ones.

So the first wig is the one on the left:

I was really hesitant about this wig when I brought it out of the box and saw it for the first time. It looked too short and too thin and when I initially was putting it on my original thought was that the wig cap was oddly shaped but I take that back now. This wig is exactly what I thought it was going to be. Also the wig cap sits the most normally on my head out of any wigs I've ever owned (even some from this same seller oddly enough...so not sure if it's really a positive for this seller but definitely a positive for this wig). On other wigs, I often have this weird problem where it can bulge out or sit oddly at points and you can obviously tell it's a wig if I don't wear a hat or headband (coughluciellecough) but this one sits very naturally and I can easily see myself walking outside with just this on its own. The shine is also great but I expected that with my past experiences with this store. It's one of my more realistic ones. To be totally honest, it's on par with a few of the $50-100 wigs that I own (though I'm sure it probably won't last as long). But for the money, it's great. I love it. I'm so shocked I thought I'd hate it when it came out of the box. I couldn't have been more wrong.

And for the one on the right:

Exactly as pictured! My roommate said it was her favorite out of all the ones' I got and it looks incredibly realistic. The shine is minimal but obviously still there but it is soooo soft. One of my softest wigs that I own. It also has a good deal of highlights and lowlights running through it with black and lighter brown/red streaks running through it giving it great depth and what not. The thickness is also great. At no point does the wig cap show through or anything. Very great wig and would definitely recommend to others if you want to get what you see in terms of product picture.

I'm a big Sound Horizon fan so I was glad to finally find a shop that sold the blackxgold version of this that didn't cost a ton of money.

The purse is heavier than it seems, really sturdy made and opens like a book and has magnets in the corners instead of any other kind of closure.

Has two zip-up pockets but the one against the side of the purse is kinda hard to get into so I don't see myself using it. from the stories I've heard, customs only seems to seize stuff if it has the logo splashed all over or it contains some kind of motif very easily identifiable with a particular high-end designer. all that aside, I don't think you're going to find something cheap enough that's worth the risk. still, if you want to try, search the brand name and sift until you find what you're looking for (presumably it'll come with a huge price tag), click find similar items, compare item names, and search the tags common to both. if it's popular enough lower-priced knockoffs will show up.

The witches hat was the most iffy thing in the whole order. That style was my second choice because the original witch hat design in the shop was sold out in my color.

I got the smaller size and inside it has like.. an elastic ring kind of like a shower cap that's supposed to keep your hat in place? It's way too small for me to get secured over top of my wig. I have to hold the hat in place to keep it from just slipping right off.

The fabric is velvet or velvet-like material and really stiff which isn't really what I wanted, I wanted something with some give that could flop down and look natural. The hat just doesn't give that natural look or feel because you have to keep adjusting the bend of it otherwise the brim will fly up like in >>8519378

Yeah, it might fit a normal sized head without a wig on it but that extra layer just is not good for it. I'm going to try stretching the elastic out a bit and if all else fails, I'll just cut it entirely and wear it like a normal hat.

Sorry for the dumb question.

I've been using yoybuy for about 3-4 years now, and this recent encounter has me thinking that it's time to leave them. Coincidentally, I only thought to check the spreadsheet of reviews after this encounter as I've had no problems with them the past 4 years.

The price of my goods was about ~$120 and the real weight was about ~2.8kg. The shipping via DHL added up to ~$54. After paying for the shipping I get an e-mail from yoybuy saying that the dimensional weight for the DHL has caused the shipping to be 5.3 kg, which is about ~$38 extra in shipping. I couldn't afford to pay that much, so I go on live chat.

They tell me that they can try to get it in a smaller box as the package is still obviously in their warehouse. They explain to me that they could put it in a bag to reduce the dimensional weight and what not. I'm on board as there are no real fragile items. They also let me know that DHL is gone for the day and so it'll be sent the next business day.

However, after only 15 minutes of waiting, they tell me that they couldn't get it in the bag, but wait! They've already put it in a smaller box, and DHL actually hadn't left yet and they sent it with them. I check my e-mail to confirm that I have a tracking number.They also tell me I don't need to pay any extra for the shipping, and the original ~$54 I paid is enough.

I thank them, and feeling suspiscious, check the tracking number even though it shouldn't have anything on it. Wrong, turns out that my package was processed with the shipping number at 9:47 AM Beiing time. I was talking to the agent on live chat at 3PM Beijing time. ( I am in PST zone)

Looking back, I'm pretty damn sure they were trying to scam me but at the same time I'm hesitant to say so because I feel like I don't know enough on the matter, but here are my images with the information. I think I'll look for a different taobao agent in the future...

Doesn't DHL go by volumetric weight? That's why they said It would be cheaper to ship in a bag or smaller box. Always read the fine print when shipping. They can really hike up the shipping depending on the packaging they use, especially with DHL.
