Cyber tends to bee more punky-ish, and doesn't realy look like a space suit, is way heavier and loud, and tends to be more aggressive, while uchuu should be cute and aesthetic- is not about a rebelión (I'm thinking of what I know of the "punk" side of cyberpunk).
Cyberpunk is rebelious in the sense that tells us how bad the future is going to be, as if we were getting ready for a dystopia.
Uchuu in my mind should not have this dark sense, is just the cute and clean part of futuristic elements.

At most,Uchuu could be rebelious in the same way as Akamoji kei: fashion for yourself, not to please the media... all that drama.

So glad anon in the last thread brought up Novi Stars dolls. I fell in love with them after they were really widely available but managed to find two of them by change (with accessories) at a Goodwill and almost cried.

Anyway, there's a music video which is super dorky but has some interest takes on four of the dolls' designs on actual human proportions. Pretty cute in that uchuu way.

I think Novi Stars is an awesome inspiration for this. However, the dolls were good in theory, but their bodies are so awful. When I got mine, her arms fell off right away. I still plan on using her head to hybrid on another body, but it's hard to match the color.

Just to clarify, I was talking about the music video when I said I was disappointed, not the dolls. I've never actually seen them in real life.

I've collected a few LalaLoopsy dolls (mostly for their unsettling button eyes, I have a clown, a mime and a nurse set) and they have an alien doll that fits this aesthetic pretty well, much like the Novi Stars doll.

I really like the idea of space boot style shoes with lots of buckles and chunky soles, I can see them working in a range of colors.

I feel like, even though it's spacey, it doesn't feel very "uchuu". Just galaxy-patterned clothes, which is just about everywhere in normalfriend clothin anyway.

I feel like to be an actual distinct fashion it needs a distinctly "futurey" or alien silhouette, or holographic/reflective/plasticky materials involved in some way.

I think the denim shorts are a bit too "now" for uchuu. Also, the destructed look is a nope. Most uchuu looks I've seen posted have very clean lines. Try to find some more retro looking shorts, preferably in a different material. Also changing your shoes would help - either chunky sneakers or shiny pumps could work, I think.

I think the crystal necklaces could work, and maybe the nails and lips, but you really do need to make it more vivid. The galaxy prints are too dark, and the rest just doesn't fit.
Maybe get a silver top or something if you want to try toned down uchuu? Something that'll stand out and fit in with the aesthetic, but that's simple enough to be worn casually.

Try a white crop top with a silver/holographic/plasticky skirt, clunky shoes, and a shimmery eyeshadow in a matching colour. Accessorise with silver or moonstone/opalite/rainbow quartz jewellery. It'll be casual and not so horrifyingly OTT that people will mistake you for a clown. What you posted is just waaaay too dark. If you really don't want to change the outfit maybe add silver nails, remove the stockings, and go for lighter shorts. It won't be uchuu, but it'll fit the look better.

Most of the stuff being posted ITT is distinctly western - like the shirts you posted and the links to stuff from topshop and the Novi stars dolls. There have been a couple photos of Asian girls wearing "space"-like outfits, but a lot of them look like either cosplay/dressing up for an event, or like a themed fairy kei or decora outfit.

It's not that I'm opposed to the idea of people wearing cute space-themed clothing, it's more that it feels like the idea of it as jfash is a bit half-baked,

And again: the Asian girls posted ITT look like they're wearing fairy kei, decora, or rave outfits. Nothing about this screams "hot new fashion from Japan".

Hardly anyone wears Cyberdog to raves. You rarely even see cybergoths at raves, they're more into the whole slimelight club scene. Rave fashion doesn't really exist outside of the 80s or 90s. There are just a lot of fashion brands that think they're appealing to ravers by making neon dayglow clothing when most ravers just wear either 90s hand-me-downs, handmade hippie clothes or crusty combats and a t-shirt.

In the fashion this can be reflected by the use of jackets with symbols, and objects that seem neccesary for survival, AKA googles, gloves, big boots. For a "futuristic hacker", it makes sense to have wires all over, tubes that seem to connect to something, that become plastic dreads. In fashion symbols deconstruct into textures and materials, but they may come from somewhere, specially in punk, which is very strongly relying on ideals of freedom and rebelion.

All of these things are present today and throughout history. Some punks, some grey-scale does not make a dystopia.
A dystopia is the opposite of an utopia, which is an idealized near-perfect society. Basically an utopia is the creator telling you how awesome things would be if everyone followed their line of thinking. A dystopia is the creator telling you how horrible things would be if everyone followed some other line of thinking they disagree with.
Because of that dystopian is still not a good descriptor for fashion. A dystopia can be post-apocalyptic, anarchist, communist, libertarian, scientifically-advanced, decadent, fascist, hyper-violent or brainwashingly comfortable. And all of these social nightmares have different aesthetics.

Its more of a posability thing. The original body doesn't have movable legs. Plus the same company that made that body makes ones with more 'normal' proportions if you don't like the cartoony big hands and feet.
