I am a 24 year old factory team-leader with a rotund gut and a bushy beard who spends most of his free time watching 80's television and lifting weights into the early morning. A grown adult male like me has no business being as exited as I am to see some Austrian girl cosplay a cartoon character but bloody hell I can't help but get hyped and audibly squee' at Graphite's progress on her Peridot. I've vaguely appreciated cosplay for a few years but as a "That looks cool, that's a nice costume, woah I bet they worked hard on that" kind of deal, I've never been genuinely interested and invested in someones work in progress.

Her wig is amazing, it's such an awkward design to "translate" into real life but she managed to pull it off convincingly. Her visor looks fantastic, Gem looks amazing, Body-paint is damn perfect, gauntlet is shaping up fantastically and her boots even do the thin. When this whole thing comes together I'm expecting it to be one of the best Peridot cosplay's around. Constitutions aside, Selina also has the perfect resting bitch-face for Peridot.

As always, can't wait to see more of her and her Jasper.

Steven is a chubster due to the gems not knowing how to cook real food and in later episodes they do show him actively exercising and eating healthier.

Rose is not overly fat, just pregnant. In the other times we see her she has a thick amazon figure and only a bit of chub.

Amethyst is short and tubby but she does what she wants and is shown to be a shameless glutton at times and is portrayed negativley but true generally it does not disrupt her job as a gem.

Having a singular fat character be competent isn't pushing some unhealthy body type agenda, especially when the characters are magical shape shifting holograms.

The biggest thing that happened with him recently was at Omni Expo, where he entered his Ganondorf cosplay into the competition. He neglected to mention that half of his cosplay (The good parts) were made by someone else, and the rest of his cosplay were literally just a black button down shirt and jeans underneath the shoddy armor. It honestly doesn't look that great. It's not that much better than several of the others in the photo, and none of them stand out. It's way too long (both the top and the skirt), there's holes for some reason in the armsocks for fingers that aren't even painted, and the wig is limp and sad, although the color is a step up from the other ones in the pic. The wings are the standout part of this cosplay, but without them, she'd be yet another mediocre Lapis.
I expected better from CBC. I think a lot of us did. When you are a cosplayer well known for quality, you will be scrutinized more closely and held up to higher standards. She fell short of those expectations here.

for the stevonnie thing, definitely get a good wig, makeup, and generally make everything look clean! accuracy is especially important with simple cosplays like this, so basically make sure everything is the right color, etc.

Her paint looks like shit, her costume is sloppy, and her wig is kind of lackluster without nought volume and it's kinda choppy. Plus the gathering looks messy.
