I'm the sick anon from the last thread. I'm recovering but I had to give up my cosplay. There's no way I'd get it done in time and be happy with it. It's so stupidly heartbreaking but oh well I'll just be Nagisa (Clannad) again this year...
I hope I can make up the loss in the art show.

I'm basically done with my costumes, I was going to try on the complete versions today, but I got anxious last night and HAD to pack or I couldn't sleep, haha. I'm excited, I really hope I meet some people who like some of the same shit I do.

Its usually held at the First Mariner Arena (called Royal Farms Arena now) , so unless you want to sit close you could just wander in and be fine.

Honestly there are plenty of seats so if you roll up a couple of minutes before the start time you should be fine and they have a big screen so you'll still be able to see.

Now that we are close enough! Maryland weather has a tendency to change its mind pretty frequently.. I went out this morning and was estatic to have the humidity gone despite not getting a drop of rain.

Urban Slide (1000ft waterslide) is setting up over the weekend down near the BSO/lyric opera house its on N Eutaw St @ Dolphin St. which is about 5 lightrail stops north of con.

Runs from 12:00pm-6:30PM with the night session being from 8:00pm-10:00pm on Saturday then 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday. I signed up for Sunday unlimited slides for $30, including the tube!

I actually have everything packed up and ready to go, finished 98% of my work, and got a good night's sleep last night... So I am feeling pretty darn proud of my self. I'm leaving out in about an hour since my checking time is at 1 and taking public transport takes about 2.5 hours and I'm trying the circulator from Penn Station to my hotel for the first time and wanted some extra time.

For those riding to the con on the light rail from the train station and the airport, do yourselves a favor and pay the fare. MTA Police were tossing out $250-$500 fines to a shitload of otakon attendees at different stations who got busted on the light rail for not paying up before getting on.

I don't bother with the pre-reg anymore since friday is such a slow burn in tge morning I just roll in at 10-11am walk in and grab my badge with no hassle. I thi k the line is part of the experience for some people so they purposefully let shit take forever for the die hard thursday lineups. You could probably just walk in and buy a badge up until saturday afternoon around 3pm without hassle I still hear about shenanigans on thursdays though and after last year I dont even bother with it.

Anyone else underwhelmed by this year's artist alley? A lot of the art work is beautiful and lovely but I'm not interested enough to buy them, even if the art work is based off a series I enjoy.
