Being busty in lolita can be pretty challenging. What are your tips and tricks to keep your boobs in check under all that frill?

>> No.8504486

I have the weird issue of my boobs only slightly being uncomfortable in most jsks. They aren't huge but they're often at the higher end of bust measurements. I usually either don't wear a bra or wear a binder.

Just got out of a dress that fits exactly like this on me. And I don't even consider myself that busty (34D).

Its also upsetting that I cant wear loose fitting pieces (mori for example) since they just hang off my tits and make me look really thick.

I've tried using a binder for a while, but it really doesnt give a good look. It flattens your chest donwards and into a monoboob type look, it looks absolutely disgusting with big breasts. Dont recommend it.

Sage for unhelpful comment/vent.

I have the exact same/opposite problem with my butt hiking up the back of the skirt. Maybe I should start stuffing my bra to balance it out.

Combating Boobloaf: Increase the distance between the bottom of your bust and the waistline. Either lengthen the straps or do anything you can to hike the girls up high. I will typically use standard bra (or minimizer) with an underbust corset underneath. It gives a little shelf boob, but it's not too bad if I don't tightlace.

Avoid items with too much contrast in the princess seams, or anything with horizontal patterning or designs across the bust. It will make your boobs/torso look wider. A cute bolero can really help if an item you really like has this however.

What looks good on you is going to depend on your body type and weight distribution. The various diagrams that are out there can point you in the right direction. However, don't be afraid to experiment.

As someone who is a top-heavy inverted triangle, high waisted items are sopposed to look terrible on me. But chiffon, a-line with a high waist actually looks best and makes me look smaller since my arms and legs are small. Whereas anything with a lower waistline draws attention to my wide torso. It's going to take trial and error to figure out what suits you best.

>cont.

Binders: They squish them flat and creates a wide weirdo shape. It might work if you have a small torso but a large bust. However on me, nope. If you need it to fit into a dress, you'll probably want to consider a bolero to help with the odd shape it creates. Minimizer > Binder.

Sports bras: Squish them flat. I don't like wearing them in lolita.

>Full and half back shirring is the most accomodating but they look the worst. 1/2 shirring pushes the front of the bust and bodice flat while the back extends for the size. 1/4 shirring or no shirring will look the best, but depending on your measurements, you might have a hard time with this, especially if you're in the plus size category and prefer brand.

Some may advice against this, but it works.

If I have a garment that separates a little, I pin it to mark and test to make sure I can pull it over. If it easily goes over; then I double check with extra strong thread from one button to the other. It has always worked and it makes things look fitted.

I also wear unpadded bullet bras. They are better at lift it and separating the soft breast tissue so when a slightly tight garment goes over the monoboob will be less pronounced, but usually won't show up.

Avoid skirts + blouses, stick mostly to JSKs. With JSKs stressed buttons are less of a problem and you can get away with a wider variety of collars.

>>8504510
Ugh sorry didn't mean to greentext that last bit wtf.

Another piece of advice: Custom made is going to be your friend. Most ready-made garments are made for a B-cup and a smaller frame. This is why the bodices ride up. Nothing is going to fit you right off the hanger from Japan if you have western milk-fed tatas. You're gonna need to figure out what works best for you.

Seconding that it's super important to hike your breasts up as far as you can before you minimize them. Nothing looks worse than saggy flat tits. Personally, I use breast lifting tape and then put on a tight fitting sports bra.

Don't use a regular bra because the padding will only add bulk!

Department stores, online, walmart. Pretty much everywhere, you just have to know where to look.

Also, I freaking love this thread holy shit.

I have IW's Ribbon Bustle dress, and it's so gorgeous I cried a little when I got it in the mail. Ridiculous I know. But you see that cute boob holder? It's about half the space my boobs actually take up. Will a minimizer and boob tape really help me or am I going to have to bite that bullet and get it altered? I could sell it, but I don't really want to.
Dress image is borrowed from the live journal comm sales. It's exactly the same one.

>Will a minimizer and boob tape really help me or am I going to have to bite that bullet and get it altered?

It depends on how big your breasts are. I think even the most generous sized brand only has enough room for DD cups or smaller. Tape isn't going to hold up massively heavy breasts.

If you can wear IW you're probably small enough for the tape/sports bra trick to work though.

>I think even the most generous sized brand only has enough room for DD cups or smaller
It depends on the overall circumference. My band size is 32, and my full bust is 39in, so I have DDD cups. When wearing a bra, my bust circumference is about 36in. So I have to be careful about checking measurements, but I can still fit some brand with shirring. Someone with a wider ribcage but the same cup size might not be as lucky as me.

I want to scream sometimes because I have such a bad problem with blouses gaping. Most brand fits me since I have a small frame, but I have freakish 30H cowtits and a relatively small waist (27in) so my blouses are always too tight up top and baggy near the bottom. I'm wondering if a blouse with shirring like pic related would work for me

Maybe, but IMO full front shirring always looks bad. Maybe if you can find a blouse with corset lacing that fits, you can lace it to be tighter on the bottom?

You're better off buying off brand blouses from indie brands. I'm a 30H also.
I can fit some brand blouses but the middle button does pull a little. It's fine if I'm wearing it under a jsk though.

I'd buy the biggest size from taobao you can find and take the waist in. Or buy custom.

28F here, I actually fit brand blouses better than offbrand. Local fast fashion is super flat and gapes like it's nobody's business, brand ones are much more structured and I can get them to sit right with hidden snaps.

Those feels ladies. 30J reporting in. How I've been working it is either indie brand for custom sizing, dream v on rakuten (go to the blouse section and search pp - get a size large enough for the bust and take in the waist) or a cardigan instead - a little bit ita, but no one should see under your cardigan if you get a decent one and I find it is much easier to find loliable plus size cardigans than blouses

I personally wouldn't wear something like that, because my boobs would probably hang over the top of the skirt. I feel like it would look weird and emphasize my boobs too much.

>And I don't even consider myself that busty (34D).
How big are you? 34D is one of those on the border sizes. It looks quite large on a smaller person, but average on a larger lady. If you're small enough to fit brand without shirring, a 34D should be pretty big on you.

>It depends on how big your breasts are. I think even the most generous sized brand only has enough room for DD cups or smaller.
Remember people, just saying a letter size means pretty much nothing. DD can be smaller than a fist or the size or someone's heads, depending on the band size. I'm a 28G and I fit in most brand dresses, it's really only the things with underbust ribbons and he like that are hard for me.

>trying on a skirt
>perfect length in the front
>far too short in the back

I have both big boobs and big butt. Stuff NEVER looks right. When clothes don't hike up visibly I either look squished or potato shaped, even though I have a small waist. You'd think at least mainstream fashion would embrace hourglass shape, but whenever I shop everything seems to be made for 6 feet tall tubes.

I bought an IW underbust JSK, and I feel like you can't see anything but my boobs and just try to hide that under boleros: They just pop out of the dress bodice and I don't personally like that look.
That probably was a bad idea in the beginning to buy a dress with a listed bust measurement of 90cm when mine is 95cm though, but the back part of the dress is still too big, and have no problem fitting it if you ignore that it look like I tried to be sexy and to show my breasts (well, not literally, I obviously wear blouses) and all.
