Does anyone else feel like they judge coords differently online and in real life? Not talking about not wanting to be mean to someone's face, but that coords that are more mish-mash or whatever are actually quite nice in person? Obviously not milan00-tier monsters, but stuff like mis-matched prints/patterns and clashes always seem to look better in person. I've seen a lot of stuff on here that I'd instantly agree with as being ita or at least nitpick, but if I saw it in person, I'd probably like it.

IMO, people have more time to analyze a picture of a coordinate so they're more likely to notice small details like mismatched colors and frumpiness. It's harder to judge a coordinate at a glance in person because you can't really stare with detail in mind without looking creepy/rude, and the person could constantly be sitting or moving so it's hard to notice smaller details.

Generally, ita looks ita irl but I think that applies for coords posted in nitpick threads.

I doubt it. Chess Chocolate suffers from having replicas on the market but also there are just a glut of AP Chocolate prints at this point, it's several years old, and honestly it's not that cute or original anymore. I don't think replicas are the only reason it's gone down in price.

The majority of issues has to do with her lack of effort in the face region. Her face is fine, but dat forehead is no good for lolita exposed like that. It's improved a lot if you block he forehead and no-makeup face so more nitpick than ita.

I generally hate flower headbands, but it works with the print.

Indeed the left girl is mentally not okay, I don't know how she's able to communicate honestly, she was one of the organizers of this meet but did more than these three girls come? Nope. Why? Because this girl tries to chat with you when she adds you to facebook, but she's illiterate so you can't understand a thing she tries to type. It's super awkward at meets with her or when she posts on the comm page. The girl in the middle is supposed to be new to the comm but this looks more like cosplay honestly, probably also because she is a cosplayer. As for the girl on the left, I think most people are tired of having her at meet-ups. If she wasn't in the organisation there probably would have been twice as many people. I don't think that person is an asshole for not being comfortable around disabled people. There are many very sweet disabled people, but this girl might be too hard to handle for most people. She is autistic and illiterate gets mentioned a lot because she stalks people through facebook and sends them a thousand questions that they cant understand. She gets closer to people than they are comfortable with and gets very upset when they don't want to interact with her. I have heard that she can ask very sexual questions or asks people to date them. She isn't just a person with Asperger Syndrome who is awkward, but actually someone who needs to be looked after by a person who is actually trained instead of someone who is just an acquaintance because they happen to wear pretty dresses. We don't find her a burden, we just aren't equipped to handle her. The problem isn't that she is disabled, we have almost no issue with the other girls with disabilities, but she is another case because of the severity.

But if a person is really so severely disabled I expect at least that the people you leave them with to have enough patience(you need a lot),know techniques to calm them down or know health professionals. This is such a huge problem with disabled individuals who need supervision. Every single disabled person has their own quirks and difficulties, and if you don't have their caretaker there to brief you on them, it can be very, very confusing. In all honesty, I would do your very best as a comm together to contact her caretaker or supervisor in a professional face-to-face setting and speak to them about this. Inform them of your concerns about her safety and well being, both mentally and physically. Ask for them to attend meetups with her if she must come. It makes me so angry to see when caretakers are obviously negligent and let people with special needs roam about unattended. It's ignorant and potentially harmful to both that person and everyone else.

I know /cgl/ loves concrit, but lolita coordinates are just clothes. If someone walked up to me and said "I like your outfit, but that would look better with black shoes" I'd be insulted. In this community, you just have to accept and embrace it, even looking back on stuff from last year, I can see that I've improved thanks to help I got from lurking on here and advice from anons. But when people are just excited to share their outfit with others, I think the best concrit you can give them is just not liking or commenting.
On the other hand, I think there needs to be more clarification of what lolita fashion is and isn't. There's girls who welcome all criticism, take it into consideration, and then still look like shit. Instead of telling them "good first try, why not try a different blouse?" they need to be told "this isn't lolita because..." and then link them to some blog posts on the basics.
A lot of girls learn to clean up their style on their own over time, most of them just aren't dumb enough to post on CoF on day 1. I think that spoonfeeding newbies specific advice won't really help them, what they need is more exposure so they can form their own style and opinions. I'm going to be accused as an ita in disguise, but I think that unwarranted advice is rude, and they shouldn't be fair game. This is why people use The Sandwich, so they feel less bad.
