I'm wondering if anyone has tried wearing a corset under their lolita dresses. Was there a noticeable difference in the way the dress fit? Would you do it again or would you ever try it? What was it like?

Pic related isn't lolita but it got me thinking about it.

I do, I have a 67cm waist which I cinch to around 60-62cm and while it seems like a small difference it makes the fit of my dresses MUCH nicer. Also its actually a corset with a tulle skirt sewn below so it works as an underskirt and turns my tiered, somewhat lumpy petticoat into a perfect cupcake shape. I know corsets aren't necessary in lolita but I feel frumpier when I don't wear mine!

I have a 23" waist, but I would like it smaller. The real steel bone corset I bought was off the rack from timeless trends. Apparently I really need a custom one. The top goes to right below my nips while the bottom cuts into my hip bones when I pull it as tight as possible.

Thinking of buying some cheap shapewear corsets now

Try the petite josephine from Isabella corsetry first...I hate timeless trends and orchard corsets because they are all too tubular for me, plus being fairly skinny means that you often can't tolerate any commission at the hips or ribcage

What?

Corsets in lolita are not new.
Using them as shapewear under your clothes is the best way to use them.
Success is based on a number of factors: if it fits you and you know how to lace it, your boning isn't giving your dress weird lines, and you are wearing the right type to best suit your figure and hide the fact you're wearing one.

Using them outside your clothes is where the line in the sand gets muddled for me. It then depends on your execution, the resulting aesthetic and what you're using it for.

That's enough outta me, I told myself I wasn't going to post in this thread.

Corsets always seem like a perverted fetish thing to me, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing one.

You shoudln't need a corset to make the outfit look good unless you're already fat and using it to slim down, otherwise the only reason you would wear it is because you're a bondage slut

When's the last time you heard of a "historical" lolita-wearer? the whole fashion is dangerously close to deviance and corsets do not help its image

Nevermind that corsets are worn to help your posture etc. You are an idiot. I'm a petite girl and I wearing my corset really helps bulk down the amount of layers worn (tights, bloomers, petti, shirt etc).

So how do I get a conical rib shape that makes my skirt look more exaggerated then?

>> No.8491163

See they're a super practical for me to wear.
I have a Mesh corset from Orchard Corset, I attached garter tabs, so wearing the corset helps keep my stockings up. I can't wear tights because of a foot issue, so I have to wear stockings.
The top of the corset smooths out the shape of the bodice so that there are no lumps and bumps. I tuck my laces into the lacing, so it's smooth on the back.
It holds up my posture.
And, the best bit, it takes the pressue of my petticoats so they're not digging into my waist all day. Meaning I can wear more pettis for a better shape.

Also because it makes my waist smaller, it makes my skirt look poofier in comparison, like the live action Cinderella dress.

Holy shit, you're a moron.
Corsets won't make you thin, they'll just make your waist smaller. They change the shape of your body, working out will make you smaller overall and can't achieve the same effect.

Also, they're meant to be worn UNDER your clothes, so there's that.

>> No.8491251

I really want to into tightwaisting, for me, though, it's sort of fetishistic. I don't want to taint something pure and beautiful like lolita with it because I'm a perv.

I'm not quite sure how to go about it. I generally don't like to go with anything sexy but a corset will be undeniably sexy. I want to cover it up and hide it, so... maybe Mori? I tend to wear mori in the fall so it's coming up.

Is this a bad idea? Maybe it won't show under all my layers.

lol sorry, just a typo, I was thinking tightlacing/waist cinching at the same time and that's what came out

I've done plenty of research, like always, and I've found a reputable place for a custom corset, I've saved money, I'm just afraid of taking the leap. It's absolutely meant for making me feel confined and slightly uncomfortable, it just suits my interests but I'm afraid of looking like I'm trying to be sexy. I already have a nice frame and shape, I just want to feel really confined all the time in a corset.

It's not fun being crazy anon.

Nah, I avoid fashion ones since they don't do anything. The Baby corset from what Katie Did is also amazing, but expensive. They have a new mesh one which is less crazy expensive, but for the price of WKD you may as well look for a good custom corset maker. I like lucycorsetry for her lists/corset resources

When you wear shapewear meant to emphasize an hourglass, and a dress meant for a pear/rectangular body, it's really no wonder.
Try de-emphasizing your bust more than you already are, it should help. If that doesn't suit, wearing corsets often looks great for high waisted skirts and in general for more military style coords.
>>8491275
I'm of the opinion that as long as you aren't shoving it in people's faces, you should do whatever it is that makes you happy.
I can righteously say I'm a deviant, but does anyone know? Not unless I tell them.
In addition, I've never caught flak from normal fags when wearing a corset in public. It's out of the ordinary, but most people don't even bother noticing.
Lolitas are just sensitive to anything remotely lewd, so picking a waist cincher might be the less ostentatious choice.

There are tricks to hide them. Like tucking them in the top of the corset, or tucking them back under the other lacing.

NEVER NEVER NEVER TIE LACES AROUND A CORSET YOU WILL MAKE IT RIP IN HALF.

>> No.8496753

>>8494221
You see them less if you use a special thin ribbon lacing but a corset under things is often slightly visible. There are corset covers that can help but they can get a bit hot since you should also be wearing a lining under the corset as well.

Many people tightlace and hide it with baggier clothing on top. You dont need to make it jfashion related either. It wont show tho and that is the point of hiding it usually. I do recommend this way as it is less noticeable to people and so you wont get questions.

You will likely want to try a corset that isnt custom first to see if it is really what you want to get into so you arent spending hundreds on something you wont use. Then get used to wearing one, break it in properly, and used to wearing it over long hours. THen you can decide if you want to tightlace. Tightlace is a very big thing to get into as it requires a lot of work and a change in lifestyle to deal with the long hours you wear the corset.

>>8488945
I reccomend actually measuring your torso so you know what you will need, as well as your hips and then the hips of the corset you have. You want to see how small it is vs what you are. I would assume the TT one is 12/13 inches long, so if you want something shorter keep that in mind. If your hip bone is being pinched you need something tht has a bigger hip spring. Cheap will not help you in this, you need to go higher end not lower for a better fit.

>>8500148
It all depends on what the person wants. If you are very small you are also likely tube shapped in return so she may want to create curves.
