Honestly choke is a constant drama whore. I feel like if John ended up with Baby's missing shit then there's two easy possibilities to the situation that aren't him blatently being malicious and planning to steal shit.

1. It was set aside separate from other things of theirs and they couldn't locate it before leaving, on accident (and John was a fucker and kept it)

2. It was genuinely lost and later found by or turned in to John and he kept it (like the total fucker he is)

Or he flat out stole it. If they have stuff that went missing and he somehow came upon a bunch of stuff of theirs, then he should have contacted them and sent it back. But he's a fuck and we all have no expectations of him.
