I've always been sort of fond of it honestly. It reminds me of room wear. Do you think it is even usable in lolita? So I actually have money to spend on some new blouses, and I wanna get at least two short sleeved blouses, one in black and one in white. I'll only consider blouses with detachable sleeves as long as they're decent quality, and I've found that the blouses with gigantic Peter Pan collars don't look good on me at all.

I already have L527 in black, pic related. So far, I've been looking at L301 (for white only), L383 (though I'm iffy about the collar), and L373 (black only). My main concern is fabric quality. What would you guys recommend?

In my experience that has been the only blouse I've liked enough to keep so unless you really, really want versatility maybe just get that in white as well. But if you're willing to spend a bit more it is summer sale season so you may be able to get a nice brand one for not that much more. Meta currently has pic related for 11,059 but they'll probably be having a further reduction on their sale pieces in a few weeks.

Not meaning to be a brandwhore, just in my experience Bodyline blouses are pretty shit and you are better off spending a little more elsewhere (or the same on toabao) to get nicer blouses.

It's about the same as the boning as AATP uses, as well as all the taobao boned items I have, so I wouldn't say it's particularly terrible. Just the same weak plastic boning most fake 'corsets' use. I'm a 5-6US depending on the brand, usually a 5.5 if shoes come in half sizes. I ended up buying 235 to make room for thick socks, I think a 230 would be okay too but I've had a bad experience with wearing shoes to a con the fit "just right" at the time and ended up hurting like hell by the middle of the day so I opted for slightly more room. Even Bodyline themselves list their store as a costume shop for their Facebook category. They have some cute, cheap items if you are careful but most of their print stuff has always been considered cheap and tacky. The fabric is sub-par, much of the lace is inferior, nothing is lined.

I am a US 7 1/2 from sneakers to heels.
I measure just under 24.5 cm at the longest.
I wear 24.5 from Bodyline EXCEPT the RHS. The toe box is smaller so I wear 25.0 to be able to comfortably wear tights and those little footie socks.
For those boots, I think "size down" Anon might be right about going one down, but 24.5 is better safe than sorry, and def a better fit than 23.5.

most people say measure your larger foot (left for me) in cm and just remove the decimal (ie, the # of mm) to get your japanese shoe size for BL....this is what i thought was always advocated here on cgl too.

I have this and it's just regular plastic boning, nothing to hold you in or anything, it's just to keep the high-waisted shape, to keep the fabric from wrinkling or rolling down, it's not meant for shaping your body. It's fine as it is if you fit well within the measurements. If you don't, then maybe a real steel bone corset is what you need. Even then, those only squish you in a couple of inches unless you get a custom and actually waist train, and ususlly diet too. This is just a simple skirt with cosmetic boning. And also, just so you know, nothing increases the value of used Bodyline at all unless someone is desperate for a sold out piece. The resale value is terrible.

The fabrics are different and the IW dresses are lined, well constructed and nicely finished. They aren't a 1/2 costume and novelty shop.

I consider the Bodyline sailor costume a costume because it's got a costume stock number and is even in their own costume section which btw is lower quality in general than most of their lolita goods. Don't blame me, Yan's your man on this one. I'm not sure why everyone is wetting their pants over it as a lolita dress though. Good used sailor stuff from brand or offbrand is comparable in cost and oceans better in quality.

It really depends on how you style them but I've never had a problem with them being thin or shiny.

Whether you feel that the "tiny print" is barely noticeable or not, it is still unsatisfactory. I will always know it's backwards and it will always bug me.
I purchased 2 originally but ordered the wrong size and as Bodyline wouldn't reply to my email requesting a size change I had to order 2 more.
