Didn't the last thread about this cause the firing of a staff member because they associated with /cgl?

I'll be going for the first time this year since it's close and I figured I give it a try.

Went three years ago or so, and it was like 90% Homestuck crazed preteens. It seems like it'll be nicer this year, but I think I'm still going to skip out on it.

really simple lineup, mostly going to party, unrelated concert on sunday night so i'm hoping that'll make up for it if it sucks as bad as every other con here which i have no doubt it will

I went last year and it was okay. I'm bummed about the guy from /cgl/ getting fired because of the thread, him posting about wanting to improve the con really endeared me to it and made me want to support it more - but then they fired the guy over it lol. Pretty stupid.

sup that was me. I didn't wanna start shit when this all started but since Con head Bonnie has been really shitty to me, my girlfriend, and anybody we brought onto hoshistaff to help out, FUCK IT!

As for what happened...

Long while back we had a anon claiming to be staff on here and wasnt, They were a volunteer. Ever since that event con head Bonnie fucking hates this place.
I see a hoshi thread and thought "oh shit most of these posts are positive...wtf /cgl/... well okay maybe I can get constructive feedback and use it to improve!" Plus I'm a tripfaggot, most of the nc seagulls know me and I'm not afraid of my name out here. Hell I've had people call me Dustin on here. I thought It shouldnt be a biggie and Bonnie knew I posted here well before she took me on as staff.
I get some good info and suggestions mostly positive thread on /cgl/ which is rare as fuck considering how this place has been in the past.
Then before I could even pass the ideas along we had this cunt "Elle Derpstra" made a post on our FB staff group calling me out and saying my previous posts can be linked back to me and she doesnt want that affecting the con. It was a post about my girlfriends boobs, just words. Like... why would a random person look up my name on here to link me back to a complete joke post I made months earlier then say HE TALKED ABOUT TITS HE'S BRINGING BAD PUBLICITY TO A CON!!
Also Im pretty sure this girl is barely 18 and we had a no high schoolers rule last year because Bonnie just takes on whoever apparently and cant get anybody who can think for more than 10 seconds without getting offended. So Lil miss tumblretta got bonnie involved and Bonnie even agreed I did this with good intent, but then went fucking apeshit on me for even being on 4chan.
She said " We don't want them or their business there, anybody hiding behind the name anonymous doesnt have the balls to say whats on their mind without their name and face out there." (Cont.)

1. I went out of my way on my free time to help her and her business
2. I had nothing but good shit to pass along that would have helped immensely!
3. shes siding with a kid that was hired a few days before shit went down so you know derpstra was all " I GOT HIRED AT A CON TIME TO POLICE THE NET FOR GLORY OF HOSHICON"
4. Bonnie shit on you guys and said I'm not allowed to post here. Look I know the bad rep /cgl/ gets and 4chan in general and I know some of you on here I fucking hate. But You don't shit on /cgl/ saying its useless when we are probably the harshest judges of a con, be it good bad or meh, I can trust the overall /cgl/ opinion most of the time and the feedback given was from people who have experienced young small cons before. It was helpful and VERY insightful and it feels like such a waste of knowledge on Bonnies part.

So after I quit my guest relations gig I was really happy to have ( got to meet some cool VAs and make some amazing connections. Even though all the work I did was for nothing, I could get cool motherfuckers from VAs to tokusatsu actors and stuntmen, they wanted cheap as fuck and even hired some kid fucker or diddler just before he was busted, don't worry he's not going now), My girlfriend decided she didnt wanna work for her anymore either just from the way she flips like a toddler on the smallest things.
But hers the thing, My girlfriend was running event scheduling and was well into working it out when she quit. So if you have a fucked up time this year we are sorry, its probably Bonnie or whoever did it last time. So when my gf quit bonnie immediately refunded her commission ( which I was hoping for , Bonnies cosplays are okay but the props are dude what) and then unfriended and blocked her too, which is pretty fucking rude, just because she dates me that makes her a enemy in her eyes.... okay w/e.

So our buddy I still working since he wanted to take his girl this time for cheap. He was high up tech with them after his first year which is rad but a few days ago he found out he was demoted to lower than where he was when he started around the same time the initial beef happened. Thats just fucking mean, hes completely unrelated to the event other than he knows us, and because of us he gets punished.

This chick picks some poor people to work for her and when she does have somebody worth keeping she doesnt understand them and keeps doing her own shit, pissing them off and making them wanna leave. I already know about7-8 big deal members ready to bail after this year after.
I wish Hoshicon the best, some of staff was cool, just needs a new con head who doenst act like a fucking toddler at the first sign of trouble.

save yourself some time and cash, working it was fun but it seems like it wouldnt be that enjoyable unless you prefer going to smaller conventions. Lost of young teens n shit, I found myself like pic related in my room many times.

No one has been saying that you're fired, everyone knows damn well that both you and Katie quit. I know a lot of us were really sad to see you two go.

The whole situation was a mess and honestly I'm not pleased with what Elle did personally. If it were up to me, I would definitely not have her in her current position but it's not. That said, her position is her a relatively small position.

Most of staff (Bonnie included) know that I browse /cgl/ regularly so if anyone wants to boot out any seagull on staff, then they're going to have to boot out me.

That said I don't want to act like a rep for Hoshicon on here because that's not my job. I can only offer my personal opinion as both staff member and a seagull but if you guys want to provide feedback then go at it. Your feedback will not fall on deaf ears.

We do get a lot of kids and we are rather small but I do encourage you to come because I know I'd really like to see you all there.

I'm not sure why that is going around but it's probably from the folks that really acted immaturely. Unfortunately it's too late in the game now for 2015 to actually figure out what to do with those folks.

I most likely will not as I've been on staff for very long time (basically since the beginning) and I feel I'm generally well-liked by most of the staff. I have a funny feeling that I'm around to stay and people are likely to listen to me.

That's an amazing opportunity though with ALA and I hope it does work out for you.

A friend of mine sold there in 2013 and he lost $1000 worth of copics markers because the door to the artist alley wasn't locked and they got stolen.
