Sexuality relates to individualism whereas religion relates to culture and collectivism. Sexuality is taboo still, religion is not, and it's oppressive to tell someone to keep their religion out of their public image, whereas it is NOT oppressive to tell someone to keep their fetishes out of the public image because they expose others to their fetishes who do not share the same sexuality and are therefor included by doing so. If you see a nun in public, you are not becoming Catholic by looking at her, but if you see an exhibitionist in public, then you are becoming a part of that person's personal fetish by having you experience/reaction get them off. Doesn't mean anyone has to like it. I don't like it much either because the way most of them wear their hijab makes the outfit look unbalanced. >> No.8411083

I take a practical view on this.

Bringing fetishes into lolita usually has a negative impact on those not involved, resulting in horror stories such as getting creeped on by fetishists who don't know when to stop, meetups becoming a non-safe zone for underage girls, breeding itas because of fetishists who will throw on any cheap girly garment to feel like a sissy instead of girls who actually care about what they look like, bad fanfic because people are too busy trying to get themselves off to worry about grammar, comms getting a terrible rep and getting bashed on /cgl/ for either being full of itas or full of creeps, and so on.

In short, just general bad endings for everyone in the comm.

Hijabs in lolita though? First off, you can see them coming from miles and miles away. So basically they're your warning sign to run away if you don't want to be a part of their cult. Second, most hijab wearers can be gently bullied into caring about their coord, whereas fetishist couldn't bloody give a fuck how itatastic they look, so at least the hijabers will make an effort to look nice. And third, since we're in some anti-islamaphobe wave right now, you could always pull the islamaphobe card if people start making fun of lolitas wearing hijabs, which means if your comm/photo has a hijab-wearing lolita in it, by association you can pull the islamaphone card for yourself too. Just accuse anyone bashing your comm for being an islamaphobe and racist and watch the thread derail into politics trollbait.

So viewed like this, fetishists have no practical use, in fact they're downright harmful to the fashion. Hijabs? A lot of positives, and you can still avoid being in a photo with one because they're so visible.

Therefore, kick the fetishist out. The hijabbers can stay.

The first girl. Not the greatest, tbh, but it's at least all light and pastel/ivory, and I really like what she has going on with the light mocha browns with her shoes and tights.

Jesus does the last rustle my petti. Picking different browns (? what I think is the bittersweet colorway almost looks black and really jarring) They do not go with that chocolate brown. Don't pretend ivory white chocolate on the skirt goes with stark white, plain tights, either.

Middle is awful for shoehorning red in with that awful unrelated beret. It's obviously just to tie in a really poor shoe choice when simple, brown shoes are oddly easier to find than wine.

Of course they're allowed to wear it, but that doesn't mean others aren't allowed to not to like the look. Some people also don't like crosses or other Christian symbols in lolita. And that's also totally fine.

Left. The one on the right has way too much gong on and that underskirt looks nasty.

Damn, what is with /cgl/ these days? At least these tumblrinas are getting shot down in this thread but that's the first in a long time I've seen /cgl/ be good ol' /cgl/ when it comes to this bullshit. What happened, gulls?

There's no win here. They're both only okay and both kinda suck.

Left is the safe choice nd I like all the ivory. I just hate those needless gold tea parties here.

Right I like much more for having more elements to it. I don't think it totally pulled off anything it was trying to do, but I like the effort and the weird colors in it.

right is more interesting and creative and i like the pose, but the lighting and photo quality make it look shittier than it is

Right is my favorite. It looks like the dress fits her much better and the use of color makes it way more pleasant to look at. Left is boring, right is interested. Plus, fuck gold tea parties. So sick of seeing them in every goddamn coord nowadays.
