Wish I could go, but my classes don't end until mid June at the uni.

I'll be at Supercon in Miami for sure since I'll be free from work and it's close-ish. I haven't been to a con in over a year - and very sparsely attending for a few years. I can't wait to see what everyone's been working on.

I'm hyped. Hosting a panel for the first time, but everyone I'm hosting with couldn't make it, so I'm scrambling to find replacements. I might have to cancel the thing.

Only going Friday and Saturday but still hyped. Still not sure what my cosplay plans are, but I'll probably end up wearing things I already have instead of making something new.

First time going this year. Family wanted to vacation in Florida... I got to pick the weekend.

Any tips and tricks for a Canadian first timer?
I'm a photographer and have yet to open booking for the con... how busy is this place, and are there good shoot locations around?

Same con as last year and the year before so I'll just do the same thing and hang out in the hall with my friends. Their security sucks so if I want to go into a room you walk in with a group. It tries to be a big con but doesn't really have much to offer that can't be found at other conventions for at lot less. Not really worth the expensive ticket or hassle with parking.

This year is my first year going. Any good returning panels from previous years? Any anime viewing rooms? Character Q&A's?

Lamest con ever in the lamest city ever. Tampa sucks shit and usually has the muggiest, hottest weather in all of Florida. The weeaboos there are a special sort of cringe.

Holmat's a good con and probably one of my favourites. It's always a friendly atmosphere because of the holidays. It's getting bigger and the venue last year was pretty okay aside from the dealers room being outside. It's a good con to hang out with friends at imo.

Does anyone know if the food trucks will be there this year? They were a fucking godsend last year when I was tabling in the AA and they were right outside in the drop-off area, the food was great and it was cheap, too. Every con should have food trucks, honestly.

Florida cons are the biggest when it comes to drama, because a lot of cosplayers down here have ego's the size of Yaya's yayas. As for the convention staff and managing, a lot of people are pretty fed up with almost every con. Broder cons especially, considering what a raging douchebag he is. Most of the staff for Metrocon and Megaon have no fucking clue what they're doing.

The only good con worth going to IMO is Holiday Matsuri, and that's just because of the good atmosphere and drunk christmas parties.

I'm so confused as to what people did to deserve all this shit posting about them. I know most of the people (may not be best friends or anything but I know them enough) being talked about and none of them are what they're being portrayed as. Dani, Jean, Rae, LL, JT, Francisco, Hanari, Lynn, Bri, and Zack are all extremely nice and quite humble. Even I will admit that a long time ago I thought a few of them would be egotistical but once I met them that idea went out the door. Ehh... from what I can tell, Cosplayers in general are magnets for drama. Whether its intentional to bring it on or not, cosplay just brings the haters. Metro will be a con I enjoy. 95% of the people "namedropped" here I enjoy the company of, and would hang out with regularly. The other 5% are just people who cause negativity and I choose not to hang out with them.

Oh, don't get me wrong. It has its amazingness. Over the years, I've met some great people. However, there are *always* bad apples amongst the bunch. You'll find *some* good posts. I put an emphasis on some. 4chan breeds the most repulsive, negative, annoying people I have ever seen, mainly because you can easily hide behind a veil of Anonymity. If you don't know the formula: People + Anonymity + Speaking Box = Hate.

Like I said, its not representative of *all* of 4chan, however, you will get the most critical, negative feedback in *only* 4chan, because its the only site that puts up with allowing all users to be Anonymous.

The subject of photographers further up in this thread reminded me of something. Kyle Mould Photography totally STOLE their event formatting from Waffles Ink Photography. I love Waffles, having worked with him A LOT in the past, and it just irked me that Kyle couldn't even write his own format. Then again, at least he has great taste on who to steal from.
