Twinkle Journey Anon here!
>when you post in the dream dresses thread, do you have the money to buy what you want outright?
Depends. I posted my big wishlist last thread and I could afford parts of it, but not everything. With the Twinkle Journey OP, yes. I can pay scalper price if desperate.
>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
Every day a few times a day.
>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
For Twinkle Journey, no. Anything else I can be more casual with since I really don't want high demand things.
>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
Twinkle Journey still.... It wasn't until this year though that I got serious about my hunting. I've wanted it for years but I was always really casual about lolita, and now I'm sucked in.
>what's the highest priority dream dress you've gotten so far?
I have a Twinkle Journey JSK in bordeaux that I excitedly bought for cheap. Also, I have the Detective Poodle skirt and jacket set, as well as one of the caped dresses!

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
It can change from a couple of times a week to a few times a month.
>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
Yes, definitely.
>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
Maybe a year or 2? It was AatP's Hymn JSK. I wasn't really trying too hard tbh but a friend linked me to the auction.

AP's Fantasic Dolly OP in red

Usually yes, but I always have the moments of "but do i need this or do i just WANT this?", try to justify it with do I have matching stuff, a blouse that would fit the cut etc

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)

Practically everyday... but I still miss things.

>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?

Since 2011 for Attp's Melty Mermaid Princess JSK. I finally got it this year!!!!

A couple of months for Holy lantern OP in any colourway. I think Im cursed to always miss it/be during a time when I just reserved/bought a new release.

yes, for sure, i would hate to miss out if it did come up and the seller doesn't take payment plans
>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
i usually look in bursts of a month or two, and get tired
>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
yes, i end up not searching second hand sites at all (or try not to anyway)
>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
still looking for the btssb stained glass angel jsk, spent a year looking for it casually, have only really started to aggressively search for two months

Also:
>when you post in the dream dresses thread, do you have the money to buy what you want outright?
Depends on the price of the dress and how much I want it.
>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
Not often enough- perhaps once a week. Right now I'm on a total break since I've A: spend too much money and B: decided to focus on getting more wardrobe basics such as blouses, accessories and shoes.
>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
Yes, I'm on a break right now since I just got my Bambi JSK. I'll buy a dream dress if I stumble over it, but I won't actively search for it.
>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
I've only been buying lolita for a year and a half, so a year and a half? I've loved Chained Berry Memoir and Rose Boudoir since they came out in 2011, so four year if they count.
>what's the highest priority dream dress you've gotten so far?

Thanks to kind anon from last thread I know about the Fragrant Rose auction, unfortunately there is competition.

Meanwhile I have fun with answering questions.
>when you post in the dream dresses thread, do you have the money to buy what you want outright?
I always have money for that bag!
For the other items it depends on the budget I've set for the items.

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
If I have enough money I look at least twice each day. Otherwise a few times a week.

>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
Yes I did. A few times I even gave up on a wishlist item just to find it a few moments later. Usually my wishlist items are always on my mind.

>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?

I offered alyssiumbaby or whatever her name is who is getting married $450 for twinkle journey op in black. She said she had the exact same offer from another buyer.

So although it seems like twinkle journey prices have gone down, I feel like specific cuts/color ways go for more.

>when you post in the dream dresses thread, do you have the money to buy what you want outright?
It depends. Sometimes I post when I have a lot of spare funds but some times I post just incase I find any leads etc. and am in that period of time where I can't drop a lot on lolita.

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
I have a few dream dresses that I look for weekly or fortnightly. I check Meta and Moitie yja and mbok every other day.

>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?

Yes. I'll often stop looking altogether or look for something that's easier to find. I often stumble on dream dresses whilst looking for something else i.e. a new blouse or bag etc.

>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
Over two years. Moi Meme Moitie's Tulle Rose op in blue. I had only seen it for sale once in all that time and that was for $800. A SS who I sent a wish list to a year earlier and never heard any response from had found it in CC and contacted me. I honestly was so surprised.

>what's the highest priority dream dress you've gotten so far?
Moi Meme Moitie Tulle Rose and two colourways of the Metamorphose Triple Frill Velvet Op.

>when you post in the dream dresses thread, do you have the money to buy what you want outright?
Yes. If not, I can put it on my credit card - the only reason I wouldn't have the money is if I'm waiting for reimbursement of expenses (work only pays everyone back once a month)

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
I'm a chronic window shopper...I don't think I stop looking on second hand sites!

>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
Yes and no. I don't really stop looking at lolita sites but I definitely give up on scrolling a billion pages of auctions for months at a time, and I can't be bothered with ershao

>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
I haven't found this one yet! I first wanted it in 2009, first had the money for it at the end of 2010...and I'm still looking. See picture

That was me! I offered $450 too and then bumped my offer much higher when it was rejected. I am in the lead so far in her scalper prices.

She messaged me not too long ago saying she changed her mind though, so when she does sell it I'm first in line. I know I'm paying more than I should, but this is my dream dress, my first dream dress, and a set in great condition. This is my Gloria, Elizabeth, Cat's Tea Party, if that make's sense.

Absolutely. I keep enough in savings for two or three of my dream dresses at all times.

>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
At least a couple times per week.

>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
I've missed out on my ultimate dream dress due solely to not checking for a month, so no, I check consistently, even if I just bought something else recently.

I don't know honestly. I started posting in these threads a few months ago and at the time I only saw the two anons seeking head bows. Twinkle Journey pops up, but not often enough that I think sellers are lurking the thread. When I got my JSK, it was a leaving lolita sale. As for the OP that was on the market recently, it was at such a low rate that I think the seller didn't know any better. I've never see anyone ask for the JSKs here (I think once I saw someone say they wanted the full shirring JSK way long ago).

I've never seen someone say they wanted the lace up version (I forgot it existed honestly, I find it tacky) or the bustle version. For me, since I know the OP isn't impossible to get anymore, I'm not settling for less (well I sorta am, navy is my preferred colorway but I love the black colorway a lot too).

I think this seller is a lurker. The bow was up, then they took it down, and now its a bundle? And in the previous thread I did mention that I was watching their LM sales, so I'd be really surprised if they didn't know.
> Who sells just the headbow when they have the full set?
> Unless of course there is someone who just needs that specific headbow and their JSK is unpopular.

Depends what price it pops up for, doesn't it? Usually, though.
>how often do you look for your dream dresses? (in terms of weeks/months/years)
On average I check LM multiple times an evening/day, y!j every day to twice a day, and every other shop twice a week.
>do you take breaks if you can't find them or if you've just gotten something?
Not really, since I keep the above checking schedule pretty regularly and you never know what will pop up when.
>what's the longest time you've looked (or are looking) for something? what was/is it?
I wanted Rose Stained Glass since release (it came out right as I got into lolita and that plus Grazia Crown are what really pushed me into the fashion), I got my first piece from the series in 2011 (the skirt) and am still looking for my preferred cut (short JSK in red).
>what's the highest priority dream dress you've gotten so far?
I guess Rose Stained Glass, though I don't have the exact cut I want yet. I actually have all my highest priority wishlist pieces other than the short JSK of that, and am down to 2 medium-high priority wishlist pieces otherwise (possibly down to one since I think I'm going to be able to get one of them). I have a bunch of low priority pieces like blouses and bags/accessories I like to look for after I get those.

Because she addressed the anon itt who didn't even namedrop her. It would have been a one-post greentext had she not responded and rubbed it in anon's face that she had their dream dress. Which itself isn't very classy.

Considering she got an offer of $400 out of the $500 she was asking for an incomplete, used jsk, her reaction like she wasn't offered something substantial for it is ill-founded at best. It's also pretty poor taste to list something on LM and withdrawing it on people, wasting their time, when all it technically was was a feeler post.

I can see why anons got annoyed. Polite sage for necro drama.

If you don't mind me asking, what cut is your TJ? I'm the one seeking the OP so if you ever do decide it is time to let it go, I'd love to talk prices with you (if that's the cut you have).

In general though, can we stop fighting over this incomplete JSK? Scalped or not or whatever drama is going on, we really don't need to drag it on further. At least not in the dream dress thread.

>>8366202
Trust me, it's not a scary process at all anon.
I love using FromJapan, their system seems a bit complicated but they have the check service.
It only costs 150 yen and they will check your items once they come in to see if there's anything wrong with it.
You can also mark things down before shipping them, which has saved me so much of money as I live in the EU.
When I buy a lot I make sure I have to pay customs only a small amount, that way you fly under their radar.
The downside to FJ is they will only store your stuff up to 30 days. But that's still not so bad, just not as nice as Buyee's.

You can also use Buyee, which is the most user friendly SS I've ever used. Everything is pretty much automatic and worry free.
They are a bit more expensive and you can't mark things down for a lower price to avoid or fool customs.
But they now offer cheaper shipping options and you can store your stuff for up to 90 days so you can combine shipping.
Combining your items costs 600 yen I think for 5 items? Can't remember.
If you don't have to worry about customs (i.e. you are not an EU gull) go for Buyee. Really, just try it!

no, got it off a girl from a fb sales group
isn't the one on Y!J 60,000 yen? (or did i miss a cheap one?)
i would maybe pay that for the holy cut jsk in navy, but definitely not for wine in a cut i dislike

do you mind if you get the plain OP or the ribbon version? i only started my search again because someone posted an outfit of themselves wearing the ribbon OP in black on CoF and i was like... this print exists!
i've seen a few dresses in people's egl wardrobe posts, but they're obviously holding onto them ugh

Ah yes, it was that price on Y! But I know 'cheap/a good price' can vary depending on how much a piece is wanted. Congrats on getting it though it isn't your preferred version.

I'm looking for the plain black OP, I had the white ribbon OP and it didn't suit me and although black usually makes everything look better, I'd rather the simplicity of the plain OP. But i'm not fussed about the version of the white JSK

Lacemarket relisted the auction after it ended (so there was the one she left feedback on and the new one) because they were under the impression i had deleted the original auction. unfortunately that's impossible once people have started bidding. In the meantime i had gotten back from work and messaged the winning buyer already and was completely oblivious of the relist or the feedback she left till after the initial messages. After talking with the mods and pointing out that the original listing was still there and now had feedback they deleted the second listing and redacted the feedback. So in the end everything was fine and what happened behind the scenes was 300% tamer than it seemed.

Hey gulls; popping in to say thank you all so much again and I am so happy it's finally here. It fits like a dream and was everything I hoped for. Please ignore the just got off work coord; cool coords will show up in coming days.
