Oh I remember that. I think they went way too far with the whole security thing, jesus. I understand not wanting random pedo's to look at your coords, but I remember you having to get a code from someone you know, and you can only give out so many at a time, so some people had to be left out for a little while. By the time the month ended, people started to loose interest in their comm. Besides, CoF doesn't have a rating system, but it has a wider audience and it does a similar task yet is less of a pain in the ass.

Also reposting my question from >>8291529 since the other post is on auto sage and I suck at timing.
>I may be actually wanting the Taobao thread on this one, but is there any way to buy Long Ears and Sharp Ears reserve and newest stuff on their Taobao? I want the Goldfish and Fireworks series but the my currency is still shit right now compared to the USD. I looked at their taobao and I can't find it. Is it possible and I'm just being retarded, or do they just prefer to deal with their new crap on storenvy or what?

are lumiebre umbrellas worth the amount of money?

>> No.8291860

>>8291812
Depends on if you like the design of it enough? I mean, it functions as a perfectly good umbrella, if that's what you're asking, so if the designs are worth shelling out vs an offbrand frilly umbrella for you, sure. Mine seems sturdy enough and I've received a lot of compliments on it, I've only used it a handful of times though.

Personally I wouldn't get one that can't be used in rain just because I wouldn't use a sun parasol enough to justify the cost.

>> No.8291932

>>8291860
yeah I was just wondering if they were good working umbrellas. I don't mind shelling out the money for a cute design but I wouldn't wanna spend $80 on something that won't keep my ass dry in the rain when I do use it. (I don't know why there wouldn't be a reason for the items labelled as umbrellas to not work as functioning umbrellas but yeah)

Alright gulls, problem here, a while ago I fell in love with bodyline's military sweets print, particularly in mint. I originally wanted the OP but it's been sold out on the website and I had little luck finding it second hand, so I figured I also liked the skirt well enough, and I basically accepted my fate of getting the skirt. I figured it would be easier to coord anyways, and had lined up a blouse and some accessories to go with it and I was going to buy it during the projected ""spring sale"".
However, I just saw the OP in mint in my size on lace market and now I'm torn because while I love the style it's going to be more difficult to coord and I don't know what to do. Any thoughts?

>> No.8291972

Why not both? they're cheap enough. If you get two, you can always sell one down the road.

>> No.8291988

I thought about that but there's just something about buying the same print and colour way in two different cuts that doesn't sit well with me
like its the mentality of I could have had two different prints instead of just the one.
idk I might just end up getting the op and seeing if I like it on, and then go from there.

>> No.8292165

So I was looking into the Infanta fruit pie JSK but do you think it would be better to go blue jsk with red accessories or red JSK with mostly light blue acessories, this would be my first coord too so i dont really know if buying the infanta version would really matter over buying the Bodyline ripoff version though I think I like infanta's lace better...

Do yourself a favor and go with the one that has nicer lace, please. Also, I'd recommend blue jsk + red accessories. The sax seems like it'd be easier to coord with other colors down the road, whereas red is kind of limiting because it can be so jarring.

I'm currently working on one right now - the backend is being coded but we're setting it out somewhat like Lookbook.
Here's a picture of the very very barebones of how it will function. Infinite scrolling, comprehensive tag system and a "Voting" system is going to be in the first release, then we'll look into a favourites system etc in the future.
Disregard the basic design for the moment though - we just sent this to the coder so he knows what kind of stuff he needs to add in.

Honestly the dress looks poorly fitted on most people. Look at the model, the whole thing looks baggy and just off. I think it's that the sleeve hole and sleeve aren't properly fitted together because it looks bad on this model, too. It looks like they can't raise their elbows above their waist comfortably. I bought the skirt (in black) because I thought having the embellishments up to the neckline looked a little tacky, and I'm really happy with my choice. However I do warn you that I've seen the mint in person and it's actually a pretty vivid green in real life, definitely not as pastel or subtle as it looks in the ads. But anyway I'd go for the skirt.

Free to join when we start it up! None of that invitation bullshit. I can't really say -when- it would be ready until the backend is completed (Which could be done tomorrow, or like in a month since our programmer likes to sleep and has uni, don't want to push him!)
I want to say "Soon"? But I'll be posting about it in Lolita generals whenever we have updates and stuff, including any status feeds we have (Maybe twitter?)
To begin with we'll be hosting the images through the imgur API (Private account) when things get started and then we'll see how the bandwidth is and look into hosting/advertising space.
Ideally it'll be a "Okay it's open, go nuts" kind of thing; the more people signing up the better.

No problem, sorry it took so long to find time to do.

Another note: Make sure absolutely your card info is correct. It will 'credit check you', don't worry it will not charge you. When the next monthly billing comes it will charge you the proper amount then. So if the yen magically goes to a weird exchange during that time, it will be charged as such and not at the rate of your original purchase time. There's normally an exchange rate fee of a few dollars by your card company too.

do you guys consider someone whose wardrobe consists mostly of big ticket/popular items to have good taste?

Personally, I love the wine/dark red color way. If you're just starting out, a deciding factor should be what colors you want to keep using in your wardrobe. If you think you'll get a lot of wear out of, say, dark brown shoes and a pale pink or white blouse to go with the wine color JSK, go for it. If you're aiming more for "true" sweet instead of sweet classic as an overall vibe, go for pale blue and get red shoes and accessories.

Personally I don't much like bright red JSKs at all, so take my opinions with a grain of salt. I'm sure other anons like red JSKs just fine.

Was anybody else shocked about the AP release today? I haven't been keeping up until I checked the USA site today and saw this print called "Dolly Cat." I'm really disappointed in AP. Animals are people, not pets. Usually AP is really good about portraying animals in positive positions, like leading a symphony or hosting tea parties, but in this case the pets are obviously housecats and the pedestals they are sitting on even display their slave names.
I realize not everyone agrees with this idea but AP is better than this. I'm disappointed.

I can definitely confirm this. Really a shame since the bodice design was all I liked about it, but the fit is really disappointing.

Yeah it says that foreign agents are prohibited from bidding as well as those that can't speak Japanese well enough to understand the transaction. Tbh though, if you're using an agent that has a fairly generic, non-obvious 'agent sounding' user name you may get away with it.

I've found it odd how some Y!Japan users are anti agents, I mean, they get their money either way and in fact may even end up getting more for their item than those based in Japan would be willing to pay.

Thanks for that anon, turns out I had a customs charge to pay, freaking $36 for an Item that only cost me $30, I hate UK customs so damn much. I can't deny that it doesn't work as a deterrent to ordinary folk though, I'm wondering if it's even worth bothering with Y!Japan again, unless it's some dream wish-list type item where money is no object (within reason).

Is there a name for these pieces of headwear? I dunno if I'm just shit at googling but the websites/blogs I've been looking at just seem to mention wide brimmed hats (which I guess are like the black ones + similar ones made of straw) or tricorns. I would like to know if there was a specific name for the flat ones, as well as the headwear in the 2 photos on the right?

Or if someone could just send me off to a good historical fashion/costuming source that goes into more detail about the hats. Really would love to make something for an OP I plan on getting.

The fact of the matter is you can use either an A-line or bell petticoat under a bell skirt and it will work, but an A-line skirt will only work with an A-line petticoat because it doesn't have the volume at the hip to fit a bell petticoat. That's how you know.

So technically, it's a bell shaped skirt, but you can use a poofy (not casual) A-line petti.

When using acrylics you "glue" pieces together with acrylic cement which is basically just a blend of acetone. It's not like tradition glue, more like a chemical that melts the pieces together. You can use e6000 for adding nont-plastic bits like pin backs or glass cabochons but for getting the plastic pieces together acrylic cement is the only thing that will let the pieces be as tight and flat as possible.

Functional corset lacing I'm okay with, but pointless corset lacing as decoration is tacky as fuck. Even if I removed the ribbon it'd still have two random strips of lace running up the hat.

They don't really care about anything unless a white person says it, which is incredibly contradictory of their beliefs. Most sjws are white (some pretend they are not by stealing pictures from other peoples instagrams, Jun of euthaniseallwhitepeople comes to mind). Any time any minority tries to speak up against them, the sjws tell them that they have just been "whitewashed".
The sjws support violence, and "social justice" which is infinitely problematic in its own rights. It does not take into account individual actions (unless you do something drastic) or experiences. Its all about comparing what you have to what you think someone else has - which is the exact behavioral trait we stomp out of little kids because it makes them angry and jealous. Which is exactly what sjws are - jealous little children and those who are enabled by them to push hateful agendas.

Basically, this girl wore lolita to her senior's funeral (dress is pict related). She didn't wear wig or did makeup but she did show up in a complete cord with hairclips, petticoat and everything.

It's a shitty thing to wear to a funeral, I don't think wearing lolita itself is bad, but didn't she have anything black? The dress is dark but the print is pretty colorful and I assume the frills on the bottom are part of the dress and not an underskirt.

Yes, I have. A full kuro outfit to my grandfather's. My father and aunt didn't mind nor did anyone else in my family as I was put together and it is how I dress.
I know every family is different and it is dependant on weather or not if it is suitable in the first place.

B-but lolita is sooo modest!
Completely inappropriate and I wouldn't be so fast to judge the family for alleged attacks when we don't know what happened aside from her being dressed like a tit. And with a slap is more the thought that counts, it's not like a fist to the face and not violent assault.

Same here. Also completely black and to my grandfather's. Nobody cared, probably because quite a few of the attendees wore colourful normalfag clothing themselves.

I feel like you want to look as polished as possible at somebody's funeral. As some sort of tribute that you care. But that's probably just me

I read their replies and apparently in China its bad taste to even wear skirts in funeral, never mind Lolita. Especially since China is nowhere as individuality embracing as here, its even more of an embarrassment.

I definitely think your relation to the dead is also a big factor, for example you guys were wearing it to your own grandparent's funeral but it sounds like this girl wasn't related to the deceased? I don't know what's meant by 'senior', like a work associate or something? I don't think an acquaintance is close enough imo for it to be appropriate. And like >>8298214 said, depends on how conservative the deceased's close ones are and what's appropriate for the culture of where you are.

assault is assault. it may not have been right to wear the clothes because they are a bit more flashy, but that doesn't mean that the girl was trying to piss on anyone's grave, and i don't know who that was but if its her main way of dressing than to her it may have been perceived as normal, especially with no wig and lack of makeup.

Only thing I can up with off the top of my head that I would consider appropriate. I'm sure there's more
