I love casual Lolita, because I'm usually not feeling well enough to go all out with the style. I'm hoping to get some inspo from this thread, the last one was mostly "not OTT" Lolita instead of casual.

Does anybody feel like standards for what casual Lolita is have gotten kind of crazy since 3 or 4 years ago? Before it could just be lazy shoes/t/skirt combo and people were chill. Now I feel like "casual" is just a basic Lolita outfit that still has a decent amount of effort and a large amount of components.

Yes. Older Lolitas have been complaining about this for a while. I'm only semi old and I've been complaining about it for a while because I wear mostly casual and feel a lot of pressure that it's not good enough at times. Of course I still wear what I want because it's stupid to let someone else you don't even know ruin your fun, but it does suck that the standards have gotten so high.

Those are both casual, but on the dressier side. A lot of the others are on the more laid back side. They aren't ita, even if you're not a fan of the look, which you are totally allowed to not be a fan of.

I think any wig with casual is a bit much. It makes it look ita to me because it seems like they were trying for much more formal and then failed. Maybe if it was a basic wig in a natural color, but I feel like part of casual is supposed to be "not a lot of effort" and a wig defeats that purpose.

I'm going to echo >>8283408 and say I'm not a fan of wigs worn with casual, but I don't like wigs in general. Part of me feels it shouldn't matter much though, your hair, while a part of your overall look, is different than your clothes.
Anyway, I'm not holding over use of, or lack of a wig against anyone.

This is cute, I agree you need to fix your bangs though as it looks like you're wearing a hijab from the preview haha. My only suggestion would be to change the tights, I feel like they clash too much with the ivory blouse and some ankle socks would actually work well with the oxfords and the casual vibe.

What is the specific difference between casual Lolita and Otome kei? I honestly feel like it can go either way half the time.

Otome has never really had many guidelines like lolita does, but there are a lot of tells from your pic compared to other pics ITT.
