Even if Markipler didn't like Crimson Butterfly that much, with his mass users there has been a lot more support for the Fatal Frame games and I'm pretty happy about that.

FUCKING THIS. My friends were "huurrr it's just too deep for you" but no, the story and world building goes to shit after the first two chapters. Which blows because the general atmosphere and characters are neat, and I want to know more about them, but it just didn't deliver.

I'm still so bitter about it, if I was a billionaire I'd fund a remake. Hell, maybe I'd just make it a film.

I want to do a horror cosplay this year but something that's rarely done? So I turn to my fellow seagulls for suggestions.

So I'm really wanting to do a Fatal Frame ghost at Fanime coming up but since I don't have anyone to do it with, I'm wondering if it'll be received well?

I want to do Sae but I'm not sure how to go about the rope burns and if I do the Woman in the Box, it seems rather generic ghost so probably won't stand out much.

Any ideas, horror thread? What kind of horror genre things do you like seeing at cons?

If I may make a recommendation: please do something more with your skin. It looks so empty. I can't tell you how many times people just draw the veins on with marker and do nothing else. Use some yellow, white, browns, blacks, and greens. For blood/rusty appearances make sure you're not using bold red. Mix that shit up with a little green and a very tiny bit of blue to give a better illusion. Play around with it. It'll make your appearance 10x more horrifying.

They're not burns, they're bruises. Assuming you're not squeamish, the best source to look at would be googling things like "strangulation post-mortem" and at photos of real injuries on corpses.

I'm working on a Kirie costume for a horror con in the fall and here's a photo of how I've decides to do my bruises. I used Graftobian's Deep Yellow, Plum, Maroon and Dark Ebony to do the bruises, then used a stippling sponge dipped in blood gel to get the "raw" look. Madeyewlook has an excellent bruise tutorial if you want to know more.

Oh awesome! Sorry, when I said burns I meant rope burn which I assumed would be there around her neck since she was hanged rather than strangulation like the others. Sorry for my mishap!

Your bruising looks really good and I like that those colors will probably very much stand out when I pale myself up a bit. Thank you for your advice! I'll be sure to check out makeup.

I didn't care for V. I know they have to shake things up but for me, it just strayed too far from the original concepts. Plus the camera interface completely takes you out of the game, such a shame.

There are so many awesome monsters in Silent Hill, but cosplayers always gravitate toward the nurses and PH because they're sexy.

I think that they're some of the easiest monsters to cosplay. They're humanoid and honestly the clothes wouldn't be super hard to make. While I'd love to see other Silent Hill monsters, (especially one of those mannequins from SH2 with 4 legs) they're just not as easy to do. I get more upset when I should when people don't do Pyramid Head's original design and go for the movie version though, ugh. Of course most people are going to do the humanoid, sexualized monsters and not something incredibly uncomfortable with an excess of limbs in the wrong places. It's just unfortunate.

Awww thanks anon. I specifically meant the ones from Silent Hill 2 (with legs instead of arms and no head) but this is good too. I kind of loved Carl's Mannequin but I really wished that he'd had enough time to weather it. Rust and blood are kind of Silent Hill's thing (for most people at least) so it being stark white comparatively took it down a few notches. I really loved the detailing on the extra heads though. I wish I could do a cosplay like this but I don't think I'm dedicated enough to not really being able to walk all day. Love you anon <333

From the video she has on youtube about getting in to that costume, the mask looked arched to fit her forehead/face with an elastic bang to hold it against her head.

How she did the holes for the eyes and the rope, I haven't the foggiest.
