I'm 5'7" and I'm worried about how I'll look in brand dresses, especially AP since they're notorious for being short. To make matters worse I have a C-cup breast so most OPs don't fit me. Does anyone have any tips?

I don't think 5'7 is considered tall, isn't 5'5 average? I'm sure you're fine

Letter size is proportional to band-size. Saying you're a C doesn't actually tell us anything about how large your breasts actually are since a C can be anywhere between tiny as fuck to huge, depending on the band size. You're also most likely wearing a sister size, so you should measure yourself to know what it is for sure. You just measure around your bust and underbust and whatever the difference is is your cupsize. If you're actually a C, the difference should be 3 inches.

I'm also 5'7 and have very big boobs (US 28G). With AP, you have to check the length for everything before you buy it and sometimes there will be shit you really want that you'll just have to accept will look horrible on you. Avoid empire waist like the fucking plauge, dresses like Milky Cross look ridiculous on people as tall as us, especially if you're really thin. Cuts like Dream Sky look fine, but they're too short to wear for lolita, so I just wear them for fairy kei. Their more traditional cuts like Sugary Carnival are okay to wear, though still shorter than most brands.

The only other brands I've owned are BtSSB/AatP, Moitie, Metamorphose, JetJ, Jane Marple, and Innocent World. Those are all good brands for taller girls, especially releases within the past 5ish years. You still should always check the length, though.

Shirring is your friend. If a dress has shirring, assuming you're not a landwhale, it will accommodate your tits. Also, be mindful of the bust area of dresses. Depending on how big they are, avoid anything with a ribbon or any other kind of separation between the bust and underbust. Typically, anything above average won't properly fit in dresses like that. Sometimes there's exceptions, like AatP's Rose Funeral, but they're in the minority.

5'4 is the US average for women. 5'7 is considered tall for a female by most people.

Here's an example of what I mean by separation between the bust and underbust. The bust area of MSND is too small for my boobs. I can still wear it and since I have the black one, it isn't as obvious, but it's still kind of awkward looking if you're paying attention to it.

I am that height, and I have C boobs, and I have that dress, and I could stuff a kitten down the front. You'll have to give your band size for more help on what you're dealing with. Try tiered JSKs with back shirring and adjustable straps, and avoid the bib bodices.

Wear jsks, give up your dreams of OPs.
I'm a fattie with a 39 inch bust and most AP jsk maxes accommodate for that measurement easy.
Unless you wouldn't mind altering the OPs.

I stated my band size in my first post, it's 28. My bust is only 35 and MSND goes up to 38, but the ribbon goes almost halfway up my tits since they're so proportionately big, instead of underneath them like it's supposed to. It's not nearly as bad as some other dresses, though.

I'm 5'9 and wear mainly AP.
Wearing tights and longer OTKs helps hide any shortness of length, I find, and if your coord is good people usually will overlook a skirt being a few inches above the knee, especially if it's obvious you've made an effort to make it work.

Also, what kind of OPs are you wearing? If you're genuinely just a busty girl, you should fit into OPs fine. I have a 35 in bust but a 27 in waist and aside from having to watch for boob loaf, I've never had a problem with OPs or JSKs. Avoid anything like the Marine Kingdom OP, though, with that clearly defined bust window, because that's a sure fire recipe for boob loaf and giving yourself linebacker shoulders.

I tend to like unshirred pieces or one with corset-laced back shirring only because I find that I can adjust the way the dress sits to avoid boob loaf, whereas fully back-shirred things tend to migrate and ride up towards my boobs.

Sorry, I mistook you for OP saying that dress did not fit well!

Hi, I'm also 5'7" and a C-cup. AP is a biiiiit short on my but fits really well other wise. You are worrying about nothing, though o do get it that we all carry out weight differently. Ps cup size doesn't exactly equate breast size, I'm small as fuck in the chest but wear a C. It's the cup and band that deduce the breast volume so saying you're a C cup really means fuckall.

I'm 5'7", 30D. the JSKs and OPs I own mostly IW and Atelier Pierrot. The AP and Baby I have is mostly skirts.

Make sure you're fitted for a bra, it makes a huge difference for how all clothes will fit on you. VS doesn't count, they abuse the sister size system just to make sales. Nordstrom's staff know their stuff and offer free fittings, even if your decide not to buy their bras.

Depending on the cut, some dresses from AP or Baby will look a bit short or wonky on my torso, so I sell anything that just doesn't suit me. I use mostly tights and thigh highs (Sock Dreams ftw), the only pair of lolita brand legwear I own is a pair of Chantilly OTKs.

IW offers some dresses in long versions. A lot of their OPs tend to be roomier on the bust than JSKs.

Some JSKs allow you to move the buttons securing the shoulder straps to the bodice, just make sure to check the back shot in photos.

Also, do not underestimate the blouse & skirt combo. Sometimes there are OPs and JSKs that will simply not look good on you, but you will desperately want the print. Go for the skirt instead, and pair it with a nice blouse.

Get at least one nice blouse. Atelier-Pierrot has nicely detailed blouses with well-done shirring. I can fit into the L-size blouses from IW (a few times M) but if the blouse busts open in front just because I slouch by one degree, I sew in snaps between the buttons for extra security.
