So, I'm going to Chessington World Of Adventure soon, and I was hoping to wear lolita (I don't like rides, so no fear of my wig or anything coming off) but I heard places can be a bit iffy when it comes to lolita.
I want to hear some of your experiences with wearing lolita while at a theme park (good or bad)

It's either Disneyland or WDW that is creating "Harajuku" character roles for Japan at Epcot. Someone posted the casting call on here once. I wonder if that might affect people wearing lolita getting into the parks, since the basic idea is that you aren't allowed to wear anything that might make people think you work there

i know some gulls either love her or hate her, but lovely lor put out a video about her disneyland experience that might help.

No idea, it was a week or a few weeks ago. I'll see if I can find it in the archive.

I just googled it and got some articles discussing it

>The casting roles call for women 5’3″ – 5’8″ in height with slender builds with a propensity for fashion modeling/posing and crowd interaction. Knowledge of the Japanese language and culture is considered a plus, but the role description itself does not seem to call for any particular ethnicity. The role is considered to be that of a Disney character performer.

I'm guessing they're going to replicate loud decora and fruits styling, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an issue going in j-fashion to EPCOT because it is pretty popular to wear items or full outfits associated with pavilion, and I've been in lolita many times without an issue
I do find it really interesting though that they aren't just looking for Japanese women

Also, the lolitas there may very well have Disney themed prints, so you can tell who is a guest and who isn't.

I wonder if it's because, from what I've noticed anyway, Disney likes to be able to reuse its performers as much as possible. Which usually translates into hiring more white performers, because they can be shuffled around more easily than the non-white performers, at least in Disney's mind.

Most character actors have off days where they are put into the suits instead. This is how they usually used them.

WDW in Orlando because that's where Epcot is located.

Probably explains the height restrictions too.

Wearing lolita to a theme park just doesn't sound fun at all. So many dirty rides and bathrooms and benches.

Disney is super clean. Are you so poorfag you've never been?

The heat is another story entirely though.

I like Lor, I feel Lolita (particularly the sweet makeup and wigs) just accentuates things that are less than flattering. Her coords are always on point though. I wish she put subtitles on this.

>chances are anon doesn't live anywhere near either location

I'm going for the first time in October and I'm 21.

Disney is an outlier in that. Honestly, I go to Disney a lot and I still wouldn't wear lolita that wasn't bodyline there. Too much potential for stains.

Scenery, meeting face characters, taking photos. Disney regularly changes up their decor according to the season and holidays, their face characters get new clothes as well. I'm not OP, but I can see how someone would go to Disney for love of Disney instead of rides. Disney is kind of an outlier in this, too.

Just how many times has this coord been done? It was cute, but c'mon, it's become a damn cliché.
QT tho

As for your question, and sorry for changing the subject just now:
My first time going to Disney wearing lolita (along with some friends) earned me rust stains from a ride.
I understand some gulls' wearing Bodyline for a cheaper option... Heat btw makes it impossible, too, but that's been said here a thousand times.

I've never been to Chessington in Lolita myself, but it should be fine. At Chessington most staff just wear the park uniform, so they have no reason to say that you're dressing to much like the staff.

Basically there's no reason to fear not getting into the park as it's pretty much only Disney (there may be some others) that don't like people dressed up.

I'm curious though, why are you going to Chessington...it's the worst park in England...at least go for Thorpe Park...

Are you just going for the zoo and the sherbert machines?

Ive watched all their confessions videos and they explain a lot about how to become on, what other roles their played in the parks.. etc. It was actually very interesting.

As much as I love wearing lolita fashion wherever I go, Disneyland is not a practical place at all for me to wear it. Too much of a risk for me to get my clothes ruined, and the amount of layers doesn't make it worth it, either. I would rather wear comfortable normalfag clothing and sneakers instead.

I do admire people who do take the time to wear alternative fashion, not just lolita fashion, to the parks, but it's not for me.

OP here, we won tickets to stay over night, so that's the only reason.

>>8227868
I would definitely not wear brand out, unless it was for something fancy, It'll be bodyline all over, aha. As for heat, it's England, it's never warm.

>>8227816
We won tickets, and they have a zoo. Plus someone needs to bag watch.

>>8227889
I'd defiantly be wearing normalfag clothing on the second day.

But thank you all for your input, I was just worried about them not letting us in.

I've been to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park in lolita, ended up leaving to the car to get dressed.
But then again, I'm a huge thrill junkie and it was mostly because I was getting sick of taking hair pieces and holding my wig on, on rollercoasters.

You won't get stopped at Chessington like you do at Disney, so there won't be a problem there. Merlin Entertainments parks just want you to wear safe clothing and are more concerned about people wearing 10 inch hooker heels than some cutesy mary-janes and a puffy dress.

Pic related. It's Chessington's policy for clothes. If you aren't going on anything, chances are even the staff will want to get pictures with you. Drastically different to Disney and other American parks.

Are you staying in the safari themed hotel? I genuinely love themed hotels so I'd go just for that lol.

I hope you have fun and use all the sherbet machines because they are the best.

Really considering wearing a Halloween themed coord to go to Disney and the Harry Potter park in October when both parks are decked out for the holiday.

>tfw went to Gardaland at Halloween and almost wore lolita but chickened out and wore a Ghostbusters t-shirt instead
>tfw the regrets came pouring in as I noticed tons of people in great, elaborate costumes

Do it OP. Do it for those of us who couldn't.
