It was hard to find the building they were in on the fau campus, but other than that it was good for ten bucks. First show in sf to bring down Belle Chere, so I was happy. Never been to a comic convention that offered all you can eat food and drink for eight dollars before, maybe some future cons can take a cue from the fat guys. Miggy wasn't there.

No drama I saw, all of the guests were nice at their booths. It was a small convention and the staff was helpful there. If you like small cons to have more personable talks with cosplayers its pretty nice to go to.

Seconding the cops suggestion. I was at Geekfest and he wanted to shoot one of my costumes that was boobage overload (fairly big chested girl but besides that I am not super curvy). But, being that it was a costume that synched my waist to make me very curvy with a big chest, he had asked ahead of time if we could shoot and was all over my breasts in the conversation. He told me things like my breasts look amazing and that I was "sexy as fuck" while begging me to work with him. It made me very uncomfortable and so I decided to wear a costume that covered my cleavage, flattened my chest, and gave me no curves. Geekfest, remember when they had that con man "Jim Logan" as their host and guest of honor last year? Then they trashed him on their radio program, which they used Grifter Priddy for. Funny thing was I heard they asked Jim to be a part of this years show after they fired Grifter and even he said no.

I was there, it was a clusterfuck of sex appeal and nobodys sitting behind booths.

The best part was when the new owner, Irving Santiago went iff on some guy in the parking lot and then had him arrested because he looked like someone he knew and didnt like. That guy is such a creepy little midget.

Although it was an entertaining show because of all the drama, ive been to many, many better events. This qualified as Porn For The Family.

As for the trolls on Grifter, drop off. There was a parting of minds and both GF and Grifter decided to go in different directions. Are there any hard feelings? Perhaps a few lingering ones but Geek Fest wishes Grifter and Sonny well.
As for Travis Photography (and all photography for that matter), were fun and professional at all times. From what I could see, they were watched by campus security as well as Geek Fest operations to make sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Any "creeper" feelings are in the minds of the paranoid, not from any overt or even covert behavior by the photographers.
As for the "Host", I believe that was Gonzo's co-host, the former Idaho Jew. Think he goes by The Pirate King now and he's a trip. Saw him at Ren Fest for at least the last few years. Hope they keep him as host cause he's awesome.

I was very interested to see what people thought about this years show - however all of this anonymous posting is kind of cowardly and ridiculous, so if you would like to give me any open, honest, and accountable feedback on how to improve Geek Fest Florida, you can do so with publicly on my Geek Fest Florida FB Group, my Geek Fest Florida Fan Page, or even message me personally on my public FB Profile. All of which are open to the public, come forward and be heard with credibility.

-- As for Geek Fest 2015, here are some facts that seemed to have gone ridiculously awry in this ludicrous and nearly entirely false conversation above:
- ALychu was not at GF2015. She has been to our show in previous years, and we do not have a personal conflict with her. I don't even know why Aly was brought up in this thread.
- Alex Grifter Priddy was set to host our event, but we could not come to terms in a professional manner. Our hosts were JayMaxwell & Kevin The Pirate King.
- Miggy Jagger did not attend because his flight was cancelled by the airlines due to weather in NYC.
- Jim Logan was never asked or invited to host GF2015
- No one was arrested or escorted off the grounds of GF2015 - no one.
- Our Vampirella was not a cosplayer, nor was she an escort. (lol) Very funny though. She was a personal friend who agreed to wear the costume to appear with Gonzalo Mayo (Vampirella Artist)

- GF2015 was not held in a "rec room", lol. We rented the Grand Palm Room, The Live Oak Pavilion, The Entire Student Union Building, and many classrooms for panels, workshops, and performance shows.
- Our convention was $10 entry, Free Parking, and $8 All You Can Eat & Drink. TRY and beat that at any comic convention is the nation.
- We work WITH other con promoters to schedule our events AWAY from theirs, and are not interested in competing with anyone. This is a common misconception spread by the uneducated to insert drama where there isn't any. We At the end of the day, a convention is a business, and the best way to do business is not to split your demographic or vendors with a similar event. It really is that simple. Don't believe everything you read in a FB post.
- Our "radio show" is not done, or gone, or whatever that comment was even about. It's funny how some stuff just seems to be drafted straight out of the imagination and is presented as fact... lol. We actually own an entire network of radio shows and 4 media websites that have a Global Alexa ranking of 28,594 (about 410,750 spots higher than iTunes.com) - and we speak openly and publicly as who we are, and have never needed to hide behind anonymous message boards to give our opinions. Adults can actually do that.

Of all the stuff I have scanned over on this page, there is actually very little that has anything credible to do with Geek Fest 2015, and it reads like a humorous self-important hate thread of people who didn't even attend.. lol. If you guys would like to talk to us about ways to make Geek Fest a better event, then you know where to find us publicly :)

Well for starters, its an "Ultracon" event and that "Bart" guy was judging. Its well known in South Florida that contests put on by Ultracon with Bart in charge are rigged. Its very well known in fact. The same people win every time.

Cosplayers that actually care usually skip contests that Bart judges. And it was GeekFest, so most likely, the pick the winner based solely on how much booby was showing.

The last couple of contests put on by the Ultracon people were obviously rigged and I know that they got caught rigging it twice for sure.

Hello, there! I was a judge at a previous Ultracon event, I sat with Bart and judged the contest along side him. I felt that I was fair, there were some amazing costumes, but a lot of dishonesty. People were entering contests with costumes they've previously placed within the last 6 months IN the state of Florida. They're allowed to walk to catwalk, pose, and show off, but they're disqualified.

Bart has a dark sense of humor, doesn't make him a terrible guy. When all the judges briefed for who would award who was from a series he knows. That is the only think I'll fault him for. I jumped on here to leave my 2 cents because I'm sick of CGL throwing so much shade on people and they're uneducated.

Unfortunately, too many have done this. I know when I compete I try to show some respect. Judging a costume contest is a trial for patience and dealing with shit. Many people get butt hurt about who won, who should of won, and who's right or wrong. Awarding people because you only know the series is messed up, but that is what the judges award is for. Not the Best in Shows. I save the Judges award for something that stands out, best in show is for overall quality. Ultracon and Geekfest this year were very fair on that level. There was no prejudging at Geekfest, which is entirely lame and not worthwhile for a fair contest.
