Currently watching the Doll Collector film on egl. I'm all for supporting budding film makers, but I'm trying very hard not to cringe because of the editing, dialogue, and cheesy acting. It's not like the person needed to spend on a thousand dollar boom mic, but it's possible to make it yourself (like a decent dynamic mic with foam wrapped around it).

Although I do commend the transcription of the original comic (I believe this was posted on egl a while back), I feel like it could have been way better and just as effective with storytelling to be done without dialogue.

Anime-only fans of a series are usually shit, I find. The quality of major franchise threads on /a/ (for a few recent examples: SnK, JJBA, etc.) took a hilarious nosedive once they got anime adaptations. SnK threads were probably some of the most cancerous threads I've ever read in four years on /a/. I recall going into one and there were people offering to give each other BJs while dressed as SnK characters and I went 'nope, fuck this', dropped SnK, and never went into another thread for it again. It wasn't a great loss since it didn't seem like Isayama was going to resolve anything in the near future and I have better shit to read.

This is pretty much the reason I don't go on /a/ and dropped the fandom. I like the SnK manga with it's confusing plot line, and constant lines of characters being killed off or maimed. The few times I travel into the SnK tag on tumblr looking for art usually end in regret and/or nightmares.

I distinctly remember abandoning my fandom-blog (mainly SnK at that point, but it was pretty much everything not j-fash for me) after getting a stream of anons yelling at me for saying Marco was dead and correcting me that it was so totally Samuel who died. I couldn't deal with the autism.

Yes. I think asking if the seller will have future promotions/sales is a bit better, but still not super appropriate. Most etsy sellers do not have a huge profit margin or make less than minimum wage considering all the time spent on crafting an item. Unless it's just 2 pieces of crap from alibaba they hotglued together and are charging 50 bucks for- in that case I still wouldn't ask, I would just look for something similar elsewhere.
