Looks like an underbust salo to me, the waist comes up way too high to be called a skirt and the straps aren't detachable.

Or, rather, it could still be called a jumper skirt, it's just a different, non-lolita type of jumper skirt.

Before I got into lolita that's what I thought of as a jumper skirt, because a jumper is like a romper in my area. Since the bottom was a skirt, it was a jumper skirt.

Like it's just a normal cute jfashion skirt.

A salopette is the same thing as a jumper skirt at least in my area of the US

A lolita JSK is more like a Europe style "jumper dress" though obviously different in overall design.

You are correct that it's not lolita, but "salopette" and "jumper skirt" aren't Lolita-specific terms. It IS a jumper skirt, and it IS a salopette, just not a lolita-style JSK/salo.

I didn't see the original post or if she tagged it as lolita, but as it is, it's not wrong to call it a salopette or jumper skirt.

>> No.8163016

Not really. There's a difference between being a 30F and a 40F. If you're that size, you're going to be hard pressed to look halfway decent in even Metas full shirred skirts. With boobs that big, it's going to give the illusion of floating tits over a too far stretched out skirt. hey guys, headbow seller here - i realize that the shipping quote looks pretty high, but i ship everything via Priority boxes for security purposes. i also recently added signature confirmation which costs about $3 per item. i was going to ship the headbow in a small flat rate, about $6, and included the extra $1 in the event that i needed a different box so the item would not be squished/damaged in transit.

and i apologize if i wasn't clear - the buyer had sent 2 payments from her unlisted Paypal after i had already sent the original invoice to her listed LM email. the first payment was the $5 for shipping, the next was the $6 for the item. i refunded those and asked her to pay the invoice. after i told her that the shipping estimate was accurate, she sent another $5 from the unrecognized account. i then refunded that and again asked her to pay the invoice by end of day on the 10th. i also gave her most of yesterday to pay, which she did not, so i cancelled the invoice and left the negative, and around that time is when this blew up. i was sleeping at the time and found out this morning.

Not that anon but the cost of the shipping or her rationale behind it is mostly irrelevant - the listing said $10, the buyer acknowledged herself that she knew the listing said $10 shipped, clicked "buy" anyways and then expected reality to be different than otherwise observed and stated. Buyer was wrong and also crazy.

It's just as bad as sellers coming after the fact saying "Oh I invoice you for the sold price + shipping and also $2 for paypal fees" - paypal fees are a cost of doing business through paypal, factor that into the cost of the item you are selling, don't try to lay it on the other person unexpectedly.

From the paypal website

What is proof of delivery?

Proof of delivery indicates that the item was delivered to the recipient, and generally comes in the form of an online tracking number. It shows the city, state, and zip to which the package was shipped, the date the package was delivered, and its delivery status. For payments of $250 USD or more, a signature confirmation of receipt is also required. The proof of delivery doesn't need to show the full street address since some shipping companies don't include this information. The city and state or zip code (or equivalent) is normally acceptable.

Signature confirmation is only needed for big-ticket items

Online shop owner anon here.

Both of you are right. No, seriously.
When I first started out I got stuff shipped USPS First Class... from my post office. That doesn't come with tracking and you had to pay extra for delivery confirmation or signatures. It was always a good idea to get signature confirmation because otherwise if they said they didn't get it, delivery confirmation didn't do much. They could claim it got stolen or put at the wrong house or something.

But when I got a printer and started doing my own shipping online, I went with First Class through Paypal and Ebay. These both come with added tracking for free and you can pay for optional signature confirmation, which you don't need except if you think it's really worth it.

So if you go to the post office, they're less likely to give you tracking unless you're using the more expensive methods. If you're using it online, you can get tracking included for everything.

>> No.8178686

>>8178676
I could be wrong about paying for delivery confirmation, it's been a few years since I last shipped that way. Either way, with First Class from the post office, they didn't give you tracking numbers. All you got was a sticker slapped on your package with a barcode they had to scan when they put it in the mailbox. They didn't even give me the option of tracking. They'd only ask if I wanted to pay X amount for signature confirmation and possibly delivery confirmation if I remember correctly that you had to pay for it.

>> No.8178689

Okay sca member here. She is mostly talking nonsense, and I really don't get what she is taking about with costume and garb.

Lolita isn't at all close to any sort of historically accurate costume (maybe Victorian children's clothing?). Yes it takes some inspiration from historical clothing but it is a modern fashion with modern cuts and sensibilities.

The sca does have chapters at some university's usually associated with the local baronry or shire. They are not in all or even most university's and they are not GIANT. Most members of the sca are older then 30.

Also most renaissance fairs are not at all historically accurate and few in my experience are run by sca groups.

USPS worker here, let me give some advice~
First Class Mail actually always does come with tracking, but the company doesn't want people to know that because formal tracking in addition to FCM is an extra $1.05. However, that added scan barcode that gets put on actually is a tracking number, but since someone doesn't pay for it, the company doesn't want people to know about it. We need that code because it has the route info programmed into it, so we scan it constantly and it tells us where it's going. All tracking numbers do that, so if you look at your receipt where it says PID, then that's actually you're tracking number. The only damn thing you pay for with tracking is for us to tell you it's there. However, be careful, since it's not "official" tracking or whatever, Paypal may not accept it as info if something goes missing.

Delivery Confirmation is always extra; it just makes the person have to sign for the package. Otherwise, unless it's insured, no matter how expensive something may be, if you don't pay that extra dollar then the company default is to just leave the item without a signature.

And you will always have the option of proper tracking, >>8178686, the only reason they didn't "give" you the option is because we get hardcore secret shopped, so there's a process we have to go through for each parcel, so really a big list of services pops up and we have to select two at random to offer, or we can get in trouble, but tracking is always there, even if its not the one they make us spew out.

All that said, still go with Priority. It's not that much more expensive at all unless your item is heavy and you have a lot more pull if something goes wrong, both with the post and with paypal. When shipping international, send first class then request to add REGISTERED AND INSURED; this is the only way under $65-xhundreds of dollars to send intl. and have it fully tracked and insured. Usually runs $30-45.

>> No.8180940

Forgot to mention that this is also correct; proof of delivery is what you want if you want to not get fucked by paypal, signature confirmation only makes it so no one steals the item off of the porch.

There's a woman in my group who has been into lolita longer than almost anyone else here, like 10+ years, and even owned a brand shop but I have never seen an outfit of hers that wasn't complete shit. I actually like plain coords but she doesn't look plain, she looks like she got dressed in the dark. I'd think she is colorblind but her patterns are always clashing too and most of her clothes don't fit right even though she's thin. If you do post it, at best I will "like" it but I refuse to back it up and post actual information to those people, all they will do is shit on it and hate me forever. It kind of sucks because they are the ones perpetuating racism most of all by forcing people into either silence or their own beliefs. You have to convince other people, you cannot just make them change or they will automatically resent you. SJWs are the sole reason this... thing... exists:
http://neonationalist.tumblr.com
There is a good reason why people either loathe sjws, have never heard of them or are sjws themselves. They harm a lot of good work done to remove racial divides from society - observe how easily Emma lumps people into either "PoC" or "white". Good vs bad. Because the Moors and Japanese (among others) never invaded/colonised ANYONE. And what of the Barbary slave trade? African people were enslaving white people FAR before Americans, a fact that is often overlooked. The issue is that people think power is mutually exclusive. Only one race can be in control, only one person can be right. This is an archaic notion, and until we realise that everyone can be equal and there is no reason to segregate, there will be no peace.

That said, my comment on BtB is irrelevant to what is happening now on the chat.

What kind of ignorant racist idiot are you? Are you trolling or are you being sarcastic?

Japan invaded and controlled the capital of China. Millions of people died less than a hundred years ago in the Sino-Japanese war because of Japan's greedy Imperialism.

The "Moors" didn't colonize anyone because Moors are Muslims living in Europe, mostly Italy and the Iberian peninsula. There was totally a period of Arab Muslim expansion though, and at one point they took over a bunch of North Africa.

Barbary pirates and their slave trade haven't been a thing for 300 years, meanwhile people are still frequently saying darker-skinned people just don't look as good in lolita -- or regular clothing for that matter and non-white people are discriminated against in a lot of the world.

Why don't you "speak your mind" about this on another *chan

The moors invaded and destroyed. As did the Japanese. Barbary pirates still enslaved white people. The world is not white vs everyone else. All humans have the capacity to be shitty to anyone and everyone if they want the shit that other people have. Non white people are discriminated against in a lot of the world, white people in other parts. Just because you haven't experienced something doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Don't erase other peoples problems just because you think yours are somehow more important. Anything can happen to any person. Racial issues that are ingrained into society are still a problem for everyone, but just because you are oppressed does not mean you are the only one whose opinions matter.

I always took this to mean "lolita clothes are frequently made for people with lighter skintones because the original market was Japanese, that's why it's much harder to find darker-skinned people looking good in them" and not "black people are ugly".

I'm Chinese myself, I find I'm able to wear almost anything the major lolita brands put out. Compare this to whiteys who sometimes complain that pink makes their rosacea stand out or pastels washes them out or black makes them look sick. I imagine the problem must be 1000000x worse for darker-skinned people, a lot of colours frequently used in lolita don't suit them in the first place, and to make things worse, depending on their skin tone what suits one girl may not suit another girl of the same ethnicity.

Yes. Took me a few reads to understand what you were saying, but yes. Blaming or generalising a group of people simply breeds hate. I do not know why "progressive" people like sjws continue to enforce horrible societal wrongs in the name of progress. Racism is still apparent in society and I understand that they would want to remove this, but the sjw mindset has hurt a lot more than it has helped. Soon they will realise this.

There is accumulation. There is responsibility. And beyond these, there is unrest. There is great unrest.

Yeah, and it's really just a matter of the "best" lolitas always being Asian, as well. Almost all lolita models are Japanese so they're obviously the ideal since the images we see of them they are styled perfectly. The clothes are made to fit and look good on those models, and the first images we ever see of every dress is generally on an Asian (except sometimes with JetJ and other classic brands, which, surprise, look just as good on whiteys). We absolutely never see them on black people except on Tumblr and CoF and sometimes at meets (my comm has nothing but Asians and whites though).

The "argument" started when a girl outlined her experiences with racism and explained how she got people to stop being racist towards her. Only issue was, she was white. Being white invalidates racism - you could say there is an erasure. One of the SJWs started ranting about how inappropriate it is to say that white people faced racism because they clearly don't - apparently because we have a lot of privileges like bandaids and "nude" items that match our skin tone.
If there is nothing to fight for, SJWs wouldnt be needed. Therefore, they need to make big issues to fight for. I am not saying that racism isn't an issue, nor am I saying that we should just ignore it. But it is absolutely wrong to ignore someones experiences based on their skin tone or the fact that you don't think the problems exist. Isn't a large part of racism the process of not allowing people to do things based on race?
Granted in a predominantly white country there will not be as much extreme racism and societal oppressions towards whites, but racism is an individual opinion someone holds over another race. Prejudice towards someone based on skin tone is racism, be it black or white.

>> No.8190693

The problem isn't white girls sharing their experiences with racism as much as it is white girls sharing their experience with racism and then telling black girls how they should handle and interpret the racism they face. It comes across as condescending and insensitive.

>condescending and insensitive
Yep this would make perfect sense aside from the fact that the same people who are telling others to stop "whitesplaining" and saying "white people only face prejudice, not racism" are the same ones blaming all of the worlds problems on white people at every turn, and telling others to "stop being so offended" if they tell them that what they are saying is rude.
Take a look at this excerpt from that trainwreck of a group. If they want to use that logic, they need to take a look in the fucking mirror. Just because you are oppressed does not mean your behaviour is not shitty, insensitive and hypocritical. I am sure someone is going to say "oh but they face racism on a day to day basis so they cant just brush it off like that". Doesn't matter, if you are being an insensitive asshat you can't just brush it off like "oh don't choose to be so offended". Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
