Joplin, soon to be columbia. Horse head maybe something last minute, drinking and relaxing, drinking and if anyone cool then let them have a shot. Going with group of friends been with last 5 Naka's and if anyone cool needs floor to crash on hit me up.

From KC, cosplaying Hiro from Big Hero 6. Yes, I know it's going to be this year's Jack Frost. I'm still doing it out of love for the character, and I'm trying to do it well.
Late night plans are to probably go to the dances (the rave for a bit and the formal when ever that is) then room party it up with my friends that I never get to see.

Don't really have any cosplay plans for this year, probably gonna skip it. I was Levi, from AoT last year and trying to keep the harness and belts together was a goddamn nightmare. Plus, there's probably gonna be 30 some odd Aot cosplayers anyways, half of which will be wearing flower crowns.
Not really going to be doing much other than hanging out, getting street passes on my 3ds, and maybe a room party or two.

At Tokyo in Tulsa we have this thing called Sakura Pass which basically gets you into all signings early and a whole bunch of other shit but anyway that's beside the point. im apart of no group in general but i travel the country and run into other mgs cosplayers.
but advice on your cosplay though, i would trim the beard down just a little bit to a short well maintained beard and mustache. and lower the headband to above your eyes where it covers the eyebrows and just the top of the eyelid. MGS cosplays rely not only on the suits accuracy but the head band can either make it or break it in terms of credibiliity

Same. I had to pay a bill that took a good portion of my last check so I have to wait until Friday to get the last of my stuff. I had to drop one of my costumes for that. I thankfully work at a fabric store so I can grab remaining material, notions, etc no problem. The stuff coming in the mail is going to give me a minor panic attack until it's in my hands though. My service dog (in training) will be with me. We just went to VisionCon down in Branson together, and he was great.

Anyway, the vendor's room is pretty basic. A lot of the time it's a bunch of tables of the same shit (offbrand alpaca plushies, tshirts, ect), but it is very busy and you can sometimes strike gold if you look hard enough. The AA is in the same room.

There's this person who sells these shit-awful, overpriced dragon stuffed animals. She's always there and there are always a million weebs walking around with one on their shoulders. That's the worst of it. Everything else is pretty quality.

Naka is getting harder and harder to break into if you're new.

It's actually pretty sad to me; that feeling of everyone wanting to be your friend is almost totally gone, just because of the sheep number of people that attend. Sometimes I feel like the staff are still treating the convention like it has less than 3k attendees, and that's not helping things either.

Yeah, I can sort of agree with you there. I've been going to naka since it's second or third year, can't quite remember. There definitely is a big contrast to how it was back then and how it is now. It doesn't really have that intimate feel like it use to before. I've made a lot of friends over the years due to naka but now it just seems like everyone is sticking to their little cliches and circles so it's doubly more difficult if you're new and looking to socialize.

That's why I'm starting to look towards other cons that aren't exactly anime related, Like comic-con or magfest or something along those lines.

The funny thing about that is that I started going to Naka because it's easier for me to make friends there. It really depends on your perspective I guess because acen used to be my main con and I felt like a ghost because of how huge it is, but I don't feel like it's hard to meet at least a few people at Naka because of that. On another note, they're saying on Facebook to expect the schedule tomorrow or today rather. Oddly enough, my timehop from the 1st last year was also complaining about the schedule. I really wish they would get on that. It's one thing to put it up within a month or two weeks before con, but Naka is next week. It's really ridiculous.

It's because last year the ticket price wasn't enough, even though they sold out, to cover the costs of the tea party. The hotel charged up the ass for hot water and the tea party lost a lot of money. Raising the ticket price is the only way that they're allowing the tea party again.

It sucks because the con booth sells them, but they have no sign advertising this and half the time the person working the booth has NO idea what the tea party is. The booth worker last year told a lot of people they weren't selling the tickets and to get them at the door, which contributed to a lot of girls not being able to get them.

I'm checking out some of the 18+ and all ages guest panels but I'll probably expand to fan panels.

I'm kinda disappointed I'm going to miss the amigirumi panel due to a gathering. Also couldn't find any shoes to match the skirt I just bought and I'm not sure about showing up to the tea party in handmade so I'm second guessing buying a ticket. The sake tasting should be fun. I'm glad they're doing multiple sessions this year considering it was packed last year.

I was at the concert, it was a pretty low turnout. Jin was a QT 3.14 and had a nice voice, but the staff was really bad at audio mixing so it was loud and hard to hear them at the same time. Naka kon is kinda getting big, so they obviously have to have one way entrance and exits to keep idiots from congesting the area. If you think bag checks were bad here, I was ad MAG where you dropped your bag off in a secluded area across the convention center and staff left the post at 10:30 PM so everything was free take after that. I've been critical of this con for years but I'm starting to see some improvements in operations (and still smuggling with ease). I really will hate the day they start emptying our pockets and padding us down.

Tthere have been incidents at other cons and I think this one a long time ago that required law enforcement to intervene. It used to be that a bunch of people would show up to Naka just for the rave. A couple of years ago at Nebkon some fuck was handing out E or something and telling people it was candy.
