Cosplaying anything from MGS is my dream.

Morrigan in her gown from Dragon Age Inquisition. Pretty proud of myself for finishing it in under a week and for learning how to use a sewing machine a week prior to making this. First cosplay I've made entirely solo, minus the hoop skirt because I didn't have the time to make one.

Ah thank you! The staff I'd originally made for my regular Morrigan but figured I could also use it with the gown.

Anyway the necklace is made from craft foam and worbla, the small green part is made of clay. Pretty much just saran wrapped/taped my neck with the help of a friend to get the initial shape so it would fit, cut myself out of it, laid it flat, made a shape from foam, then started adding worbla. Cutting and heating every tiny shape was tiresome and time consuming but somehow I did it. :')

Thank you! I used gold satin, which I appliquéd on and satin-stitched to make the clean edges. It was a pain in the ass, but turned out really good.

Different anon, but I think bigger eyelashes will help your eyes stand out a little more, and I agree with you on slightly less enlarging lenses. I would be very hesitant to line the bottom of your eyes, maybe just a small bit on the outer corners. Too much will just look stupid, and on your waterline will only make your eyes look smaller.

I thought a lot about what material that uniform would be made of. It looked to have properties of both woven and knit fabric but in the end I went with knit because it contours to the body more. Maybe I'll try a woven version soon.

I've posted parts of this other places before, but I could use some advice on my Morrigan. (Ignore tattoos; I'll do something about those. Also, makeup and wig style have since been improved)

I made the entire thing out of latex, and then the wings out of Worbla and craft foam, but after a couple failures just can't get the chest feathers to look right. They are never thick enough and look cheap as fuck. I have a good way of attaching them so they can be removed so the latex can be cleaned and shined, but the actual feathers look like shit. Advice?

It is a really bad photo, and I do apologize for that. I think the seams look wonky because they got caught up in the boots due to being a rushed-trial wear the day I finished. Here is a better shot of the seams (before the bats), and they actually are shear, but it's hard to tell when my legs don't have much going on to show otherwise.

Also, the purple looks waaaaay different between those two photos.

That's a really good point, thank you. Thankfully I don't need to have this ready for another two months so the possibility to change that is far from lost. And since the material is metallic (aka, just has silver made into the purple), it will change tones depending on the lighting. The first picture was in lighting similar to overcast, so it picked up blue tones from outside, and the second was because it was night and I had lights on, but mostly because it was picking up the red light off of my snake tanks, making them appear more warm toned.

I will say, though, that I wasn't being defensive on accuracy or anything and wouldn't advise anyone to read into at that way. The only reason I do say that (because I definitely did give a fuck off attitude, whether it was defensive or not) is because when someone offers a total bullshit comment then they should expect to have bullshit in response. If someone was to give real criticism and offer advice (like you did) then that is always welcome and I will always be open to that, but when they're criticism is "your legs are small and your latex is bad because it's shiny", then it's just safe to say fuck off because they aren't saying anything of substance. And this argument is honestly totally crass to make. It's the same deal as someone saying, "I want to be a Silent Hill Nurse, I will base my costume off of the original nurses (hunched over, green cardigan, big growth on back)" and someone coming up and saying, "your costume is wrong because it's not a bobble head nurse because that's the nurse that I know and it's newer". Just because there is a newer version of something doesn't negate the integrity of what is an earlier version. Things can still be well done even if they don't match the newest aesthetic.

Besides, I've only played the older games, I haven't played that one. I'd never pick to cosplay a character I didn't actually know because it would get me attention or something. I base all of my costume choices off of what I like and know, not what I should be doing or would get most notice, and if that isn't good enough the ohhhh welllll.

The End's mosin nagant doesn't actually exist in terms of a real firearm. It uses a fictional pistol grip/skeleton stock (possibly side folding?). There are replicas of the mosin you could modify but they are expensive and the mod wouldn't be easy or likely "con safe". I posted this in the last thread too but whatever. This is from November, literally the day after fracturing my right hand, so that's why it looks swollen in the splint. I'm really happy with how the skirt came out and especially for the new wig I bought for it.

I wish I'd gotten better pictures but I only spent maybe two hours in costume and the rest of the con on painkillers and half asleep.

Yeah, but luckily I had family there since I was driving back to my hometown for the con, so I was able to stay with my parents while they took care of everything once the con was over. But yeah, I definitely don't want to drive that long again, even though I've done it many times. Luckily I have friends I can pawn off the driving to if I needed.

Yep. And well, in Fate he's kind of okay but UBW is where badass Shirou starts. Then in HF it goes up a notch, but UBW is more about that than you'd think. And I unfortunately never played Clannad, but it is pretty long. As far as reading before watching, I'm not too sure. I always try suggesting reading the vn, then watching/reading Zero, and then the current anime, but the new anime has a few plot changes. They're interesting and all, but they're different, so I'm not sure what'll be changed in season two. The main thing that changed was the soundtrack, which is beautiful in the vn (and the first anime) but they're using Zero-like silent tracks for the anime and it's really bumming me out. LiSa's cover of This Illusion was beautiful though. So yes, you'll get a better appreciation of it, but there are three routes so it's not like you're spoiling the entire vn or anything.

And it's all good. I really like Fate (way too much honestly) so I'm happy to help.

The belt is supposed to be adjusted behind the buckle so that when you close the belt the brass on the end of the strap is barely poking out past the buckle. Adjust the belt at the keeper behind the buckle itself, cut off any large excess amounts you have and melt the end with a lighter.

Also, here's a shot of the bayonet sheath. That's a detail most ocelot cosplayers usually don't care about, but my autism is stronger than me (conveniently EVA takes his bayonet early in the game so I can abide the con's rules and at the same time be canonically accurate)

Yeah, there's a ton of eighties soviet afghan war surplus over here. I got that one (with the bayonet of course) for 10€, the owner though it was damaged/dirty but it was just soaked in a fuckton of dried cosmoline like all soviet surplus. I just cleaned it, and restored the rubber and leather of the sheath and voilà. Like new.
