you need something that's less of a true auburn. i've seen some other pics of your cosplay and i feel like it's a bit too dark and too red for asuka. you need to find something in a more copper color, like >>8138543.

as for the style, i think the main mistake you made (and it's the most common mistake asuka cosplayers make with her wig, so don't feel bad) is that you left too much hanging in the front. much of asuka's hair is pulled back behind her ears and her hair style exposes her ears. you need to sweep back more of your wig into her side ponytails. you can brush some strands back over your shoulders but ultimately your ears should still be showing.

you're a super cutie and i've been a fan of yours for quite a long time, and i think with an improved wig you'd really nail the asuka look.

I love lulubirds wig, unfortunately it's a mix of 2 random wigs so its out for buying outright. I was considering Ardas warm light brown for when I do her 3.0 suits since they made her hair on the browner side in the movies.

The only reason its so pulled forward is because of how I designed the collar, unfortunately, making it hard to wear back. I'll be bringing it to PAXeast though so I'll use that chance to try some re-styling.

the whole wig colour debate is a bit unnecessary. i find that as long as the colour is in the range of copper, dark orange, orange or even strawberry blonde, its fine. asuka's hair in the original series is like a dark orange whereas in the rebuild, its more of a light orangy brown. it doesnt really matter. what really bothers me is when the wig has no volume whatsoever like pic related

It's crossed with Mass Effect armor, I took elements I liked from the plugsuit and the N7 armor and kinda spliced them together in a way I felt worked best, though in the end it kinda became its own thing. Anon calling me out on the two not having a whole lot in common is right, but I did this as more of a self indulgence than anything. I really love both series (they even both have rage-inducing endings, lol) and I really wanted to build armor more than I wanted to sew, though in retrospect using Pacific Rim as the crossover would have probably been a better choice. Oh well, maybe for the next one.

Thanks! It's a combination of things, worbla, epoxy, pink insulation foam and various foam sheets ranging in thickness. For instance, the whole back piece is foam sheet and insulation for the backpack, while the breastplate is all epoxy and worbla.
