I always wanted to do my own Dragon Age cosplay. But I can never pick just one character.

Im finally working on a Dragon Age cosplay. Ive been a fan of the series for forever, but either can't pick a character and if I do I get too intimidated by how good every character has been done already or by all the ridiculous details that bioware is infamous for. bleh

Haha I feel you there. I think I want to do an elf character (thinking right now my female elf inquisitor) or like cassandra from inquistion. But so much woooork. I have both started somewhat since I know I want to do both, and I find that switching between them helps me breathe and not over think what I am doing. Contributing a pic to the thread. Yes its for merrill! I just like the ears and vallaslin, I saved it for reference for my dalish inquisitor. Its tagged makeup test so I think thats why the outfit isnt really there/ no wig or what not.

I know my inquisitor has the Ghilan'nan vallaslin which I am regretting now cause thats a lot going on lol. but I like it the best so itll be a fun challange

aicosu on tumblr is currently working on one, so is flamboyantwreck. the few others that have been done are...usually decent craftsmanship but a bit awk above the neck. there are some others floating around; I'd check back in a few weeks.

So far I've only cosplayed characters that are similar to me or that I know I could pull off in costume. Sadly no DA characters give me that vibe.

And there are hardly any short/stacked characters. Other than the dwarves (which there aren't many of).

The vallaslin looks like temporary tattoo material. I think you can buy sheets of it for inkjet printers. I've also seen people use it for the make up on one of the WicDiv characters and circulate the template for printing. It's a good idea. Nice sharp lines and largely foolproof and smudgeproof.

I really want to do DAO cosplay, but the Inquisitor's default outfit is so blah and Sera is the only companion character I could really pull off. And I'm iffy on her, and don't look great with blond hair, anyway. Maybe Dagna or Scout Harding is the way to go.

Hi there. I am the cosplayer in that photo. Interesting to see that two photos of my Sera made it to this thread.
Now it's fair of you to say that it's an "eh" cosplay. There were still imcomplete parts of the cosplay at that point. However, every part of the cosplay was made by hand, and the cuirass details are probably one of the more impressive parts of the cosplay (which, unfortunately, you cannot see in this particular image). I like some of the other photos which the photographer took, but he hasn't finished editing them yet. They show the detail and the character much better.

Dude my friends are lurkers, they told me about the dragon age thread where they posted my cosplay.
Well I think my costume is good. I don't see how the wig isn't styled properly? It is so yellow because I was basing it off reference pictures where it her hair was a yellow blonde, intead of the pale blonde.

That chainmail is super cool. Merrill is my wifu so I'm picky but I wish she had a longer body or somehow made the costume to make the illusion of her body type being more like merrills. Maybe it's the actual chainmail giving that weird porportion / look which is sad but video game costumes aren't always realistic of course.

There's a lot more that off about your costume than just the wig, and lurkers or not it totally reeks of self post sorry. If there are cool details we can't see, you should post some photos of that cause I'd love to see it

Why isn't there a character kit for Cole? Sera, Vivienne, Varric, etc. have some incredibly detailed pictures/comments on their outfits. I'm thinking about doing a Cole cosplay but I'm not having much look finding reference photos of him in his normal outfit.

Bioware Marketing is usually really spotty. The character kits were mostly a gimmick and since it probably wasn't that important to see that those were done when they were rushing to finish. Maybe they will come out now that the game is out, but I doubt it. I figure Bioware will focus on paying people to make patches/work on DLC. The design team probably moved on to making DLC items/other projects anyway.
