So I still don't cosplay that much. tfw: nervous as shit.

But I brought two costumes from the Fate franchise, showed a little skin (25 year old dude, In good shape.) got compliment, had fun. Went with some grills in my room.

So here's what I took out of Katsucon from my prospective:

The panels for the most part were shit. Went to three, and all of them I ended up leaving within 5 minutes of joining. Perhaps I'm not a panel person. The artist alley and merchant hall somehow felt a bit sparse considering how large Katsucon is.

However, this con was about two things for me. Photography, it was pretty good. The lighting inside, and the scenery outside if you could take the FUCKING WIND was great - and the People, we had a bomb ass Fate group, some seriously good people who I hope to keep contact with even after I head back to the West Coast.

I've never really received attention for cosplaying, and granted the rest of my party's outfits were better than mine, it felt pretty cool getting attention along side them.

This was a shitty blog post and I should feel horrible.

Actually no, I sewed everything myself. It wasn't great, but I made it. I guess that was part of the pride in having people pay attention to something I made.

Yeah, I didn't go to any panels this time. I didn't get a schedule or anything...

Two years ago Katsucon was occuring simultaneously with some Jewish youth festival, and some jewish kid got punched for insulting some lady.

I went to the manga library to get away from the noise for a little, and it wasn't too impressive. I thought there were some really good cosplayers this year, though.

After the artist gallery closed, I honestly didn't know what to do. Didn't see any fresh new cosplayers (but that old Duke Nukem guy was hilarious) and because no schedule, didn't know what was going on past 10. I actually didn't see any of the "famous VAs" or cosplayers.

That was also the year I went, got stuck in an elevator with a shit ton of homestucks. Punk ass little under 25 year olds. We were packed, I told them we couldn't fit anymore people in (It was me, plus 3 in my group, plus a lot more people -- probably 8), and of course, how dare any of these children listen to me. They shove on, and ~surprise~ the elevator breaks and we're stuck on it.
I called them on it, one of the boys called me a cunt, and I came very close to starting a fight.

I saw some pretty neat dark latex outfits, but the people looked sweaty, not sure what the source was for them. I've never worn latex, so I don't know how it feels. I honestly didn't pay much attention to the fabric. It did look like a pseudo-skin, though.

Some kid had a black costume with green stick-figure-like LED strips and it looked sweet when he ran down the stairs and such. There was another guy who had a full out costume, with two yellow glowing swords.

I didn't take too many pictures this time. Dunno why.

I was bummed that there wasn't a single photoshoot scheduled for any of my costumes this weekend.

Katsu was hella fun. I'm glad I got to meet the people I did. I didn't get a ton of pics on my camera because lol battery died. But I'll post some of the ones I mangaed to snag later.

I'm surprised there wasn't a larger KLK shoot planned. I went to the ones on both Friday and Saturday and they sucked so much... plus they were literally down empty hallways that no one bothered to find. Pretty disappointed. I guess the hype is dying.

Fuck you rude ass cunts. 4 fucking hours we waiting for you to leave the bar so we could hold our shoot. We tried to do it with you all there but you suddenly stood up and started dancing out of nowhere ruining the shot for no fucking reason. So we left and tried to come back later and there you were all still there lounging, taking up space and just doing damn nothing. Next time you want to take up the whole bar, reserve it and also pay the hotel staff for hijacking their entire bar and bringing your own garbage food. To make matters even worse, you left your trash for others to clean up. At least a few con goers helped clean it up and apolgized to the staff.

There was some idol group at the upper part of two dicks fountain fucking up the Pokemon shoot down at the lower part too. Every time the fountain started going off (perfect timing for the water types) they'd start dancing ON THE EDGE of the fountain.

Yeah, the game room was neat. It was down past where the Rave/Concert/Ceremonies were.
Lot of wardrobe malfunctions from Just Dance, which I'm sure the neckbeards at Touhou (two feet away) enjoyed.
There were SFU, Smash, Mario Kart, Jojo, and UMvC tournaments.

Good variety of cabinets and setups, two Touhou projector spaces. Check it out next year!

I had a great time, always have for the past 7 years. My one friend got official recognition as the guy who ate a McGangbang and the very first Super Art Fight. The cosplays were amazing as usual, although I didn't take too many pics until today, but also seeing as I was shooting a film camera (an Olympus Pen-F) I won't have pics to post until I finish off the roll and get it developed.

As for cosplaying myself, I'm not super hard core so I only did it Saturday as it was the only day it wasn't freeze your ass off cold outside. The one downside of cosplaying someone from something obscure is that I don't really get recognized, but for the one person that did know who Conrad Weller is I made their day, and that is the important part.

I have a funny story about those costumes. While I was heading to the water fountain show and I saw people actually re-attaching the candles on her hat. People could not get the candles reattached on hat, they tried to reattach them on the flowers, but that did not work. In addition, attaching the candles near the front hotel entrance, where there high chilly winds blowing towards the cosplayers.

I actually recorded a video of this. I'm not sure if their operation was successful.

Well those two are pros either, but they're like just shooting everyone also. They make hold you for a few minutes if you're cool with it for more shots, but otherwise are quickies.

Do it enough, you'll definitely quickly gain followers though. They're just out to shoot everyone and everybody, like a catalogue of con goers.
