Didn't see one in the catalog. Let's discuss our favorite perfumes too. How you smellin seagulls?

>> No.8087538

I bought Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet earlier this month. I really like it.

>> No.8087550

I'm currently working my way through:
- Escada Marine Groove
- Lady Gaga Fame

My favourites are Chloe's Narcisse and DNKY Be Delicious in Red but I've ran out.

>> No.8090614

>>8087529
I'm really loving the female Light Blue by D&G. It's such a rich smell.

>> No.8090623

Coach's Poppy or Poppy Blossom if I'm wearing sweet or classic lolita, and Victoria Secret's Fearless with gothic.

>> No.8090627

How do you hide thick scars? I'm a make up newb and the thing won't take anything I've tried on it.

I gave my mother a bottle of Beyonce's Midnight Heat and ended up buying a bottle for myself. Its delicious.

And ever the favourite, Vera Wang's Princess.

>> No.8090646

My favourite perfumes are:
- Dolce & Gabbana, Intense
- Tocca, Florance
- Tokyo Milk, Tainted Love

I also really like
- Balenciaga, Florabotanica
- Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet
- Dolce & Gabanna, I can't remember the name but it has a white flower on the top and is a white floral.

I only have Intense and Florance fullsized and Florabotanica and Tainted love in rollerball. The others I have names and not names are sample sizes and I will probably by them soon enough. I love my parfum <3

>> No.8090664

I live off Beyonce's "Rise" and Rihanna's "Rebelle". Rise one just smells so classy and 'official'. Rebelle's a little bit more chocolatey and homey.

I'm holding off on buying anymore perfume until I finish at least one in my collection. Currently I have:

- Valentino Valentina
- Jo Malone Red Roses
- Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir
- Tom Ford White Orchid (which I don't think they make anymore)
- Diptyque Volutes
- Diptyque Eau Rose
- Tom Ford Neroli Portofino (this is technically my husband's by I wear it in the summer)

I really want to get either Tom Ford Santal Blush or Diptyque Eau Duelle but I can't justify buying anymore perfume when I have seven mostly full bottles of stuff I love at home.

>> No.8091863

>>8090627
How thick is it? Concealer is better at disguising colour rather than texture, you need some sort of filler product to disguise it if it's raised/sunk. And Dan makeup on, don't rub

>> No.8091907

Black Opium by YSL. I've heard people complain about it being too girly or immature or whatever but I love it so much, especially for winter. Used to wear Euphoria by Calvin Klein.

>> No.8091929

>>8091863
Maybe about half a cm thick. It's not super raised, my biggest issue is that it crosses into an area that needs contouring, so when I try to apply darker color, it doesn't take and there's just this light trail of skin noticeably in a darker area of my face.

>> No.8091957

Anyone recommend a sweet/dessert smelling perfume?
Bonus points if:
Chocolate, Marshmallow, or Strawberry-scents

>> No.8092155

After going indie and niche, I cannot bring myself to use most mainstream perfumes anymore, even high end stuff; it all just smells like alcohol to me. My mom gave me Candy by Prada for Christmas, and it was like wearing sweet rubbing alcohol. Armani anything, and Chanel no. 5 are the only ones I still like. Chanel makes me feel like a bitchy old woman wearing a fur coat.

>> No.8092173

>>8092142
Yves Rocher used to sell one which smelled like chocolate and oranges; I still have it, it's so nice. Also I think Lolita Lempicka had a very sweet scheme. Also in most asian shops you can get eau de toilette in typical cutesy scents like strawberries and cream or cotton candy.

>> No.8092190

>>8092173
Seconding Lolita Lempicka, also Nina Ricci

>> No.8092224

What do you guys think about Tokyo Milk? I've been really interested in trying it.

I'm not much of a perfume person, but my parents bought me Lady Gaga's Fame for christmas and I really like it.

Anyways, what foundations do you guys like? I'm looking for something with sheer or light coverage that isn't a BB cream (or maybe if it's a lighter BB cream, but the ones I've tried seemed a bit heavy-feeling to me). Currently I use MAC's Face and Body. I really like it and the shade is pretty much a 100% match for my skin, so I might just go buy a 120 mL bottle since for the amount it's cheaper than some other foundations, but I've been wanting to try something else a little lighter. The F&B can be a bit heavy sometimes.

Also can someone recommend me one "powdery" perfume? Some days ago I smelled chanel nº5 and I loved it, I think it was the elegant powdery scent, but when I try to explain people so I can find something similar, no one seems to know what I'm talking about.

>> No.8092271

I normally wear fruity scents like Viva La Juicy or vanilla body mists, but could I get a recommendation for rose/flowery scented perfumes that aren't "old lady" type ones (if that makes sense)?

>> No.8092273

Can someone give me advice on a way to make my BB cream/foundation match my skin tone or recommend me a really white one? I was using Yves Rocher whitest BB cream (which I was told it's literally "marketed for albinos" by the counter girl) and skin79 orange BB cream and both are have gotten too dark. Also I'd prefer something with good coverage because I'm following a treatment which is leaving my face terribly scarred.

While on this topic, I'm considering getting Misshas Perfect Cover in 13 as well, but I don't know if I want to risk ordering something online and then having it be wrong. When I went to MAC, I was matched to their Studio Fix in NW10 but it was still too dark so I don't know what that lady was on.

I'm a dude with really dark black circles under my eyes near 24/7. Doesn't matter if I sleep 8+ hours or a mere 6 hours, they're there. Tried ice packs, facial masks and all that shit but it just keeps coming back. My father also has it so I'm pretty sure it runs in the family in some way.

Are you sure they're too dark and it's not just mismatched undertones? I've noticed it's quite a common thing for people to complain about being far too pale for anything when really they're just off in matching their undertones which is what makes it look like it isn't working.

I'm looking at My Beauty Addiction at the moment - you might like Cranberry, Voodoo, and possibly Violetta if you want an actual purple. Their samples are $4 for 3 different colours, and they seem to give you a decent amount - the full sizes are only $5.50. I'm most interested in their dupes for vain and technopagan since I know I won't wear those colours that often, but want them, so sample size sounds perfect.

I'm currently working my way through a Coastal Scents palette because although I like the idea of lots of lipstick colours to choose from, I don't usually wear anything regularly other than plums and dark reds. For dark reds and purples I actually own, Revlon's Colorburst in grape and Revlon colorstay liquid lipstick in bordeaux are my go-tos, plus Wet n Wild glassy gloss in 'a glass of shine'.

The colorburst because it's a swipe-and-go-out-to-dinner for me, although doesn't last through meals.
The colorstay is my 'running late apply in the car' one, and actually lasts me all day.
Wet n Wild is the 'chuck in the handbag' one or the one I use over other colours for nights out, it definitely does that glassy thing for the first quarter of an hour-half hour then is more like a regular glittery gloss, stays about as well as the colorburst and leaves a faint stain which may or may not be your cup of tea with a lip gloss. It feels a bit gritty sometimes and smells like generic cheap lip gloss, but I'm not really complaining cos it was like $2.

Friendly reminder to all seagulls who use perfumes.
When out in public e.g. shopping or having a meet/tea party, don't shower yourself with your favourite scent. There are plenty of people who're sensitive to strong smells such as perfumes, smoke and heavily scented deodorants.
When applying perfume (be it bodymist or any eau), spray once lightly on the inside of your wrist, rub your wrists together and if you really need to, brush your wrists lightly against your neck.
Perfumes and scents aren't supposed to smell to another person as they pass by. By old etiquette you're not supposed to smell someone's scent of choice unless you come close enough to hug/talk quietly.

Tinted moisturizer sounds exactly what I'm looking for though - most of the time I don't like putting something heavy on my skin since I don't really need it, just some light evening-out of the skin tone.

I think there is a huge difference between people showering themselves in a perfume and people applying a regular, reasonable amount that doesn't fuck over asthmatics or people with sensitivities.

I have had trouble at cons and in day to day life with people (men are actually worse about this on the subway I find) being too heavy with their fragrance, and I think it is kind of people to remind others to be aware of their application.

Sorry to be rude, but sensitivities to perfumes and fragrances are not the same as being grossed out by food scents. They're caused by different things even! (Though I honestly wonder why you put coffee as a strong scent and not bo or something more stinky and common as an example?) If you notice people's eyes watering when they walk by or stand near you then please tone down the perfume, I'd like to pay my bills and grab my groceries in peace.

Though now we can segue to asking how all of you apply your perfumes?

A light reflecting concealer is your best bet for sunken in scars if your not willing to use a special effect wax. It won't erase the problem yet it will make it less noticeable.

I found benefit makes a great concealer to cover up extreme differences in color, it isn't a highlight cream. It is the BOI-ING concealer, comes in a couple few colors.

I don't know if it'll work for scarring yet I use it to apply concealer to places that are open or have an uneven texture; I use liquid band aid. I let it dry then apply my concealer over it.

I agree that super strong perfumes can definitely cause allergies.

A common on is cinnamon based scents. There are quite a few people who start having respiratory difficulty around scents containing cinnamon-derived chemicals.

I won't stop wearing perfume in public. I've definitely refrained from wearing in the workplace per request. My last place of employment I couldn't wear anything with cinnamon notes or my co-worker would have to get shot with an epi-pen.

Then start with vanilla perfumes. Vanilla, sugar, and that family of scents is fairly common in high end perfumery. Try using an unscented lotion on days you wear notes outside of vanilla.

Go to your local store, preferably a high end retailer, and ask them for their best selling perfume that is vanilla. As your purchasing it, explain you don't know much about perfume and would like to explore different scents.

You'll be able to get at least 2 to 3 vial samples of different perfumes to try so you'll be able to try them separately.

Amber, verbena (lemongrass), cinnamon, musk, sandalwood, lychee, sandalwood, mints, and citrus are scents you could look for. I like vanilla and find those tend to work for me too.

>> No.8100194

>>8098115
Also, many people are allergic to Bath and Body Works lotions, body mists, candles, and perfumes. Axe and Old Spice (The sprays) are also common to cause allergies. I find a high end perfume won't cause allergies unless, like the cinnamon allergy, is is due to a specific chemical.

Usually people only react to scented deodorant if they themselves wear it. I promise I won't shove my armpits in your face. For those allergic, I recommend rock salt deodorant if all unscented fails.

I don't think your a snob.

In a lot of retailers, Celebrity created perfumes are marketed way cheaper then Paco Rabanne, Chanel, Gucci, Thierry Mugler, and the ilk. It is kind of like Neiman Marcus versus Sephora.

I can't afford a super expensive perfume; I would like to. I don't see anything wrong with being a perfume snob.

Seriously, do consider getting a palette instead of just one contouring colour. You can play around with the different shades and find out what suits you! I've seriously pale skin so I got quite a shock when I went to use some of the darker ones for the first time. It happens!

And as >>8113028 mentioned, light eyeshadows work wonders too. Like Tease from the UD Naked palette. I've seen recommendations for MAC's Taupe here a few times as well.

Im looking for tutorials not meant for asians.
I want to look cute but alot of tutorials use the asian eye folds as guide lines.

this one is for asian eyes, but it seems like it might work with a little adjusting for other types. my everyday makeup looks similar to this.

I myself am a ZOMG Smells fan, but I am absolutely in love with BPAL's Othello, which is musk, spices, and roses.

I've also heard awesome things about Snake Oil from BPAL.

I've been using tokyomilk's La vie la mort recently and I really like it. Smells like roses right before they start to rot and stink. I have a friend who uses it with her classic dresses and it's a nice combo.
Anyone have any recommendations for rain scented perfumes? Like the sharp, clean smell when it first starts? Seen a few advertised as that smell but the site either looks super sketch or I can't find any reviews.

Could be too dark, not blended enough, or wrong undertones for your skin. A lot of the contouring kits coming out these days are all leaning cool or warm so you really need to experiment. CoverFX is actually coming out with 6 cream contour kits soon that all have different undertone and shade variations.

As for perfume, I currently have Thierry Mugler's Alien, Armani Si, and Elizabeth and James Nirvana White in rotation though my actual perfume stash is a big larger than that. (that's what happens when you work for Sephora and have little self-control)

have you tried using liquid eyeliner? i can't use pencil eyeliner for the life of me- it looks horrible and i just can't make it go smoothly across my eyelid. even felt tip isn't too great for me. liqid eyeliner with a good brush is like heaven imo, it's super smooth, just make sure you don't have too much on the brush or else you'll get a big dollop on your eyelid. sephora's liquid eyeliner is my favorite, and it's only around $7 i believe.

Stop being so self deprecating and go watch some eyeliner tutorials on youtube, or look some up on pintrest and PRACTICE. Maybe get someone irl to teach you. I don't know what else you want people to suggest.

so question.
do you put your eyeliner on before your eyeshadow?
ir do you put your eyeliner on last after applying your eyeshadow?

i figure if you use tape, you'd need to put it on first right?

I have a slightly uneven lashline and whenever I pluck a little, it looks better as a whole even without eyeliner. I would definitely recommend that you (carefully!) Do this.

I have a couple that grow in high and I do carefully pluck them. One did come back ingrown one time though and it was painful and swollen. Now I pluck them very slowly so the root bulb comes out too. If it were more than 3, I'd probably just snip them very short every few days and use a thicker liner look for my makeup routine.

using tape can help with eyeshadow application, too. I do my eyeliner after my eyeshadow because I feel like it gives me a cleaner line.

>I Need you Mask (2014) Snail Mask
I love this one and will definitely repurchase if they don't discontinue it. I wish they sold it as a serum tbh. The package also has tons of serum and you can also squeeze it out of the mask (lots still in there) when you're done your 20mins to apply to other parts of your body.

I haven't tried the other stuff on your list but one day I'll get the lip patch just to try for kicks. I really like their dear my jelly lips, it's like a non-sticky light gloss look with some color.

Eyeliner after shadow unless you want shadow covering your liner.

If you are worried about the tape messing up your eyeshadow, just put the tape on before eyeshadow, so all your makeup follows the same clean line.
