I had appendicitis a few years back, got a scar on my tum tum.
Do I just use makeup to hide it?
Image related, what mine looks like but white. It also doesn't stick in or out, my skin healed pretty leveled.
What would someone do if it wasn't leveled? I guess fill in the gap if it's a indent but if it sticks out?

Nobody is going to care about a scar that isn't on your face If it bothers you, sure, use makeup. If you want more answers, try the help thread.

Look up dermarolling and use bio-oil. Just buy the rollers off ebay, make sure they're surgical steel, and disinfect with alcohol before and after use every time. I have 1.5 and 1.0 mm needles my SO and I both use on our face. His acne scars and deep lines have lightened after about 6 months of rolling 1-2 a month.

If it's not too 3D, use dermablend or Kat von D tattoo concealer on it. Make sure to blend the edges and seal with a spray or you'll get a patch or rub-off.

No, some fag that's going around assuming I'm every post that demonstrates little knowledge about cosplay because of one thread I created of a subject I've never seen discussed.
Not sure why you guys give a shit about what terminology I use anonymously on a message board either. I'm not British but I could go full cockney, you guys would still get the gist.

Thanks for the info though, much appreciated.

I actually have a large scar on my face. Posted in the makeup thread, but didn't get much help. Are these okay for daily use on the face? Do they change the texture of the skin? What sort of spray will set it in?

On the subject of covering scars, anyone have any experience with fully healing/covering up stretch marks?

I'm not talking some little discolorations.
I'm talking the "did you have a baby like 3 days ago??" deep, purple and red stretchmarks that have plagued my hips and stomach for 4 year after having a kid and never having my skin recover from it.
Super pale + very sensitive skin isn't a good skin recovery combo. It doesn't help that I didn't take very good care of my skin after I gave birth, either, due to a lot of reasons.

Anyhow. Is cosmetic surgery my only option? Or can I do something about it? Any tips?

why the hell do you have such a large scar? I had mine done back in the 90's. I only have 3 small scars one in the belly button, one 1/4" in my underwear line and about an 1" long one on my side below my ribs.

I thought they stopped doing the one long cut years ago

>> No.8097093

>>8095055
I don't think it's that big of a deal but you could probably cover it up if you wanted to. As for removing it the best option is to resurface that area, which is probably going to be expensive. If you want to so some revealing cosplays, you should for the same picture but from behind, so we can... help you out there.

You sound like you had a keyhole surgery -I assume the other anon had to have an open appendectomy - it happens if there's a lot of pus or crap around the appendix, or if it's difficult to get out.

This will be your best bet. It won't rub off with sweat or rain, and it's gonna stay there until you scrub it off with alcohol. Check out the different brands listed and pick one that suits you. I've used Skin Illustrator's and it takes a lot to get it off.

>> No.8097138

>>8097097
I had keyhole surgery to get my lapband (not worth it, just fyi. Serious exercise is how I lost weight, but I didn't eat shit to begin with) and I still have a 3cm scar, a 2cm scar, a 1cm scar and one that was about half a cm that has since faded. It was right between my breasts where the band of my bra would sit and it was annoying because I couldn't wear anything but chicken fillets for a few weeks.

>> No.8097143

Thank you anon. I was thinking about thick thighs but I'm not sure they would do the job.

>> No.8097152

>>8096732
I've heard that cocoa butter applied daily help fade them pretty well. That's something that would take some time though.

I'm mildly interested in this as well. I have some surgery scars that are pretty noticeable, and the skin in that area is sunken. Concealer could work for the scars, but i'm not sure what to do about the rest of it.

>> No.8097162

>>8097143
You should always wear sheer pantyhoes, but they should be sheer. You can tell when people are wearing really thick ones and they often lump up around the knee area and ankles, which will be enough to ruin a cosplay tbh.

>Assuming thick thighs are some sort of stocking
>b/c google is all porn

But yeah, an AA makeup will help better than any other type. It's what I'd recommend for all body makeup since you're not going to get it on your clothes or anything, and it's buildable. :) You may have to buy a full foundation palette to find your right colour since the amount of alcohol you add to a certain colour can change it in some cases. I'd recommend getting different makeup brushes for each colour, too, or scooping them out of the palette to mix. Always add more alcohol than less because it will evaporate off if it's too thin, but too thick can be lumpy af.

>4 scars from lap band surgery
Scary.

I got mine two years ago via laparoscopic and I have one 3cm one inside my belly button, which you can't tell because I have an innie. Then one 1.2cm one in the center of my abdomen that basically looks like a slightly raised pimple scar.

>> No.8101051

I had really bad weight fluctuations, and had horrific dark purple stretch marks on my hips. My skin sounds similar to yours. I never moisturized unless my skin became scaly. I used cheap coco butter from the 99 cent store. It worked great, and the stretch marks are gone. Make sure that coconut oil is one of the first ingredients.

>> No.8102932

Make up would work best but it might sweat off.
