Didn't see one in the catalog, so can we have a room/decor thread?

In particular, I'm looking for some cute storage solutions to put on shelves/bookcases. Kind of like the box featured, as while searching for similar things I could only find horrible underbed canvas crap.

Target has always been good for storage, but I don't look in the typical storage area. The kitchen section or decor areas often have pretty baskets and such. Or you can get crafty and découpage a cheap container.

lol ikr? I think you can somehow bend and twist the hoop without destroying it to make it like a quarter of the size it is but I'm afraid of breaking the hoop so I also just flatten it, put it in a garbage bag and slide it in my closet where I have enough stuff to hold it flat against the wall.

Nice! Will have to hit up e-bay for something similar.

A few months back I got one of those white plastic drawer organizers with all the compartments that you can customize yourself. Needless to say, it was an absolute disaster. None of the pieces really fit, and shit was spilling over into the other compartments. Never again. But I've a couple of those pink hexagon-shaped organizers and they work fabulously for underwear/tights. 10/10 would recommend.

I want to do a room that is gothic but a bit more cute rather than elegant or classy?? Like having Kuromi and Nightmare before xmas plushies and some cute deco like small bats hanging and so on. Any suggestion? I can't find pics of such rooms, what i see is overly pastel with no black rooms and gothic rooms with elegant and vintage-y stuff, so not something i want to achieve. Maybe i should do a spooky "sweet styled" room in black and lavender?

Im so glad someone made this thread.
Ok so im moving for the first time in a long time and ive never had a cool looking room so ive decided to make it happen for once the only problem is that my new room is EXTREMELY small.
I would like to go for a cozy but cute blanket fort look because i always find myself making them anyway. My questions though are how do i make it into a fort look without having it become a giant fire hazard. Also if i want to go for a more sweet look do i just do everything i see online in a pink/white/cream color scheme instead of all the dark tones they usually have? And i was thinking the chalk paint might be a good idea because i can always draw reminders and doodles on it but does it look to tacky or would it apply on smoothly on a wall surface?
Thanks for any replies i get.
i made a quick doodle of the lay out of my room and its much smaller than i depicted. Not to mention i have a queen bed im keeping no matter what. Pillows added to take up space

exactly, the second pillow fort looks like dust collecting cups just waiting for a little movement to powder sugar all down on you.

get something maybe like pic related, its not as big but therefore easier to keep clean.

for the color scheme, choose something you know will suit you in a few years as well.

Would love to get some advice/ideas on making a functional stylish living space in Japan. I’ve lived there previously so I know that I will have to deal with a lot of smart storage solutions since there will be so little space. I was lucky enough to have a pre-furnished university apartment last time, but this time I will stay much longer so I will have to think about how I want my apartment.

I cosplay, so I would really like to be able to tailor my apartment to accommodate my hobby. So places to store my materials, somewhere to put my sewing machine, cosplays, wigs, etc. would be nice.

Design wise I like things simple, neat and cute so not OTT. Think Scandinavian interior design. I tend to get a little hair-brained and scatter stuff everywhere so I really want to break that bad habit by making sure that I have good storage. I’m thinking light colors and mirrors to make the space appear bigger as well. I think I’ll probably hit up IKEA and Donki, but other stores would also be nice to check out.

One night they hatched.
Imagine HUNDREDS OF TINY SPIDERS suddenly crawling out of your fucking ceiling fan.
To this day that thing is radioactive with raid, I swear. Did not sleep in my room for months.
Every single fucking night I would wake up and there would be at least 1 spider always since I was little. Until I was older and they finally let me have some fucking raid, the entire room is probably toxic and I'm probably going to get cancer latter but when I go back there now there are still less spiders.

Ending dump for now with a picture of how I generally imagine a typical Japanese cosplayer's room. I believe cosplayers run into a typical "too much stuff too little space" problem seeing that Japanese apartments are SO small. This terrifies me since they might be able to hold a space arranged like this clutter free, but knowing myself and my bad habits I know that this type of arrangement would get really cluttered and messy FAST in my case. I would really need some proper storage and closets. I also see a lot of cosplayers just freely hanging their cosplays on hangers on walls and it looks so messy and tacky. I would feel really bad if I had to live like this after a few years since it would get messy.

I use these to keep my bunting up and they work great even where I've got extra stuff hanging off them. I've got a couple holding up paintings too. They're really not that noticeable even when they're not covered up. There's one on the back of my door atm that I can only see from where I'm sitting (2-3m at least) because I know where it is, and then only vaguely. They'll certainly work better and be less noticeable than blue tack or anything like that. I can throw up some pictures if you want to see what they're like on a wall.

Post crafting room!
My bedroom is boring as fuck atm because my boyfriend (who I live with) and I have opposite tastes in decor and can't really agree on anything, so I'm planning on making my sewing area into my personal frilly womancave. I worry about balancing practicality and frilliness, though. Sewing areas get so dusty so easily and frilly shit everywhere probably doesn't help.

Probably not worth it in terms of effort and money. They make a lot of money from families taking their car and making a huge deal of spending a whole day there. It's like a one day trip. You go there, look at stuff, discover more stuff, buy much more than you planned, eat a lot of food and load up the car. At least that's how it works in my country. It's all calculated on IKEAs part in order to maximize profits. That's why they have so many cheap items and cheap food in their resturants.

Yay okay! The smaller shelves are fancy cardmaking paper and notebooks are full of stickers and cut outs and all that. On the far right, the tall black bookcase is entirely stamps, several layers deep. Still have to set up a lot of stuff, but I share the space with my mom (I'm 25 but moved back home for health reasons recently) who is the one who got me into sewing and crafting. We have craft parties, so it was designed for lots of space! Still have to get fabric areas, sewing machine, serger, and all that fun stuff done.

Hi seagulls, I think I may find an answer here !

I bought a canopy bed like pic related (but bigger) but I can't find proper "curtains" for it. All the websites that sell canopy beds never offer them, just regular clunky windows curtains.

All I found on ebay was a sort of mosquito net which is not really what I aim for, because I want a silky, sort of see-through fabric.
Do you guys have any idea where I could buy this ? Otherwise I planned to buy some muslin silk fabric and sew it like pic related, which look simple but I don't have any knowledge in sewing.

Other option would be to pay a seamstress from Europe, but I don't know anyone for a moderate price. (Anyone seamstress here up for it ?)

My room is pretty small. All the furniture and stuff came with my flat and I'm not allowed to change it out or paint the walls, so I've made do as best as I can. I'm also not allowed to hang things on the wall. I blutacked up some cute lolita postcards and some personal pictures and cute rt by my bed to personalise the wall a little more as its a bit boring, and I try to use pretty bedding. I bought cute lace curtains I need to hang too, so I've made little changes that make the room a bit less soulless. The room is awful, dingy white walls and ceiling with pine furniture and a horrid beigey brown carpet.

In terms of storage, I have a small chest of drawers that holds my make-up in one drawer, fake hair in another, and miscellany in the third, with my jewellery box on top. Then I have a bigger chest of drawers that holds my regular clothes and one drawer holds all of my lolita socks and headwear, as well as shit like wristcuffs, gloves etc. Then, my wardrobe is divided in two. One side barely holds all my lolita main pieces and the other holds normalfag shit that won't fit in the drawers. Top shelf of the wardrobe has all my bags, floor of the wardrobe has all my shoes and a box of pettis. It's not the most elegant storage solution, but it does the job. I dream of the day I can get my own cute furniture and actually have a pretty room.

Nah, I always doubt the rooms on tumblr of actual living humans look like that (at least every day). As said, fewer posters and a nice framing would help a lot.

For high walls I always think that moulding looks very nice (pic related); but since it can be quite messy and prices you could think about getting something similar so that you can kind of "frame" your wall and set it apart from the ceiling. I wish I had pictures but I've seen pictures of rooms that had flower garlands and/or some veils/fabric 8idk the appropriate english term) all around the part where the wall and ceiling met and it looked quite nice (albeit a bit kitschy)!

>> No.8126719

>>8126608
I agree there are far too many posters on the walls, I would halve the number and almost create vertical stripes of areas where there are posters and areas of blank wall. Framing them will make them more grown-up, less like "I got lots of posters and put them up everywhere"
I would also look at better storage solutions for the stuff on your floor, a short cupboard to put those things in would make a world of difference and also give you another display surface for plushes etc.
