I just checked and we dont have any panel submissions about a Lolita Tea
We have one for a possible fashion show/social, but no teas.
We also don't have any lolitas on staff, so they only lolita panels would be from lolitas who submitted a panel request (which are still open for another week)

Also, as for no teas At the BJCC, when we first moved to the BJCC they were very strict about outside food and such (and still are), but there is a possible way around that as long as no money is being passed

it was opened for a while last year as a 'test' and they ended up having to stay open way later than they planned because of the amount of business they did.
I believe they plan to open again for longer this year, but I'm not 100%. We are about to start having meetings at the BJCC to see what we can do this year. I want those food places open too

fun story about that subway, the first year we moved to the BJCC, one of my staff members called that subway to warn them to stock up and was yelled at by that subway's manager because "they are used to BJCC crowds, they know what they're doing"

...they are used to middle aged women and families, but 500o con-goers who are trying to save money and eat quickly. They ran out of food 3 times. I think they've gotten their stuff together since that year...

Few more questions. I'm a curious Kami-Con goer. Did the WCS summit just approach you guys and ask if you wanted to host or did you go to them? Did the fact that the WCS are at the con affect the cosplay contest? (On the site it says that 90% much be made by the wear when the last was 70% I believe. Not that I;m complaining since it has pushed me to make things that I normally would not be confident in making.).

As a last tidbit, I been going to Kami since year one and I swear I thought is was over when it moved from the campus. You guys have managed to keep it running nice and smooth though.

Ray and I went to Japan for our honeymoon and when to Project Anime because we were invited and it was running while we were there. We met a bunch of Japanese industry guests, one of which was the WCS Japan branch. We have been wanting more for our cosplay con-goers to be able to take part in and things they might like so we decided to approach the WCS US branch (thats how they work, the cons have to approach them, they dont approach anyone).
And we...are just going to see how well this turns out...

It was 90% last year too (I'm pretty sure..it was supposed to be). I'm going to be honest, no one actually walks in with a 90% hand made cosplay. We mainly say 90% to keep people who just straight up buy their cosplays from trying to enter and to keep the amount of entrants to people who actually made the majority of their cosplays...it doesnt really work. You have to have made AT LEAST 70-80% of your cosplay to place (this doesnt include shoes, socks or wigs, but making socks, styling wigs and altering shoes and making boot covers gives you an extra boost) and from there its who's craftmanship was the best.

I will also warn you that we're re-doing the way the contest is run and such this year to try to make it more fair for people who really want to enter and to make it a little more streamlined (I hope..we will see)/

haha, thank you for the compliment, we try.

3)

4)
>>8050400
Claims that he posted a screen cap, because there is no "you" in parenthesis next to the comments.

However that doesn't make any logical sense. This is why:

There is no (You) in any of the posts in screen caps.

That means the person posting in point 2) above is supposedly not the person who posted those posts. (Because there is no "You" on them)

However they respond to the accusation saying "if that is a person, you got the wrong one" claiming ownership of those posts, but claiming not to be Tuffy.

As I explained earlier. You can easily avoid having a (You) on your post by looking at CGL through another device that connects to the internet, like a tablet, phone, or other computer.

Which means the person in point 2) was trying desperately to prove that those posts were not made by Tuffy, by showing that no (you)'s were in the posts. Which makes no since because of what I just explained.

So if this guy is trying so hard to prove he is not Tuffy. That means he is most likely Tuffy, as someone who is not Tuffy wouldn't care in the slightest.

>> No.8050461

Yo bro, let us have a chat.

1) Kami-Con always treats it's guest to good food. As we try to represent Alabama properly to guests from other states. A lot of cons treat all their guests well in this regard. It's good to have nice relationships with them all. It's part of con relations.

2) That is a mexican restaurant. They are eating burritos. It's pretty cheap… $12-$15 dollar meals at best.

3) WCS sends one representative, and three judges. None of which we are required to feed, but we probably will as it's part of guest relations. That is just 4 people begin fed over 3 days, hardly any money at all. A con cost over $100,000, if you think a few $100's is going to break budget, you don't understand a con at all.

4) This is supposedly a picture of WCS staff and contestants eating out at a prelim. It doesn't mean that convention paid for the meal. If the convention did pay for the meal, that was just a decision on the conventions part. Generally it would come out of the conchairs pocket.

WCS is one of our cheapest attraction at Kami-Con this year. I don't understand why our budget is of such importance to you, but it is virtually not a financial issue for Kami-Con at all.

Everyone else was getting some pretty high end dishes and we almost shat our pants when one of the staff started ordering wine bottles. Each of those bottles was 300 to 500 in the case they were in and she ordered at least 6 of them. I know damn right well we didn't drink it all and there was at least 3 unopened bottles when we left. The impact on Kami-Con isn't off topic, however the drama surrounding WCS as an entity is. A con is essentially a festival. Attendee's come to the festival if they wish, and don't have to if they don't want to. Some things at the festival will cater to you. Other things will cater to other people. Not everything is for everyone, but the Festival covers entertainment for all types of people. As long as Kami-Con has more entertainment value then just WCS, it should be fine. Looking at their guest list, I'd say the list of voice actors, and Team Four Star, who I don't think have ever come to the the south east, is a good start.

Thought I saw this pic before, so looked around. This picture is from the WCS Team USA Facebook. It's from NDK 2014, and "everyone", which looks like it meant teams, judges, and staff, went to Casa Bonita,

Casa Bonita isn't connected to the NDK convention hotel. So if WCS got the meal covered, they had to go back to NDK and get reimbursed after the fact because Casa Bonita is not in the hotel property.

Checking the menu online for Casa Bonita, average menu is 14 bucks, no bottle wine on the menu and the most expensive wine is four bucks a glass.

Whose credit card was used to pay for the bill? Did you offer any money on your own to cover what you ate or did you have reason to assume it was covered by the convention?

Do you know for certain that NDK paid WCS back for this expense?

Bringing things back to Kami-con and the effect on WCS: it will only have the effect you let it have. Do what you feel is right for the convention, give them what you feel they should have, don't give them what they don't need, and best of luck that it goes well.

I really appreciate all the concern and worries and advice. I'll def keep all advice in mind. Right now they are the cheapest thing we have at out con, so you needn't be worried about our budget being ruined because of WCS.

Anyone have any other questions I can answer while I'm on here (maybe some not about WCS haha)?

I'll call WCS out for putting shit they know they shouldn't on the room tab. That's bad and they should feel bad for that, and conventions need to put their foot down on that.

But there's no proof NDK either did or didn't cover that dinner. We just have someone saying "someone" did, and the poster established it was not them. So,.who did? Well, it wasn't the room tab of the hotel because Casa Bonita. So...a staffer then? Which staffer? And if a staffer, do we know they sent it in to pay it back?

Unless someone from NDK chimes in here and says they covered it? We don't know shit.

Also, let's point out the fact that if >>8050501 was truly concerned about the cost the convention was paying for that meal, they could have done something about it. All they had to do was put their meal on a separate tab and pay with their own damn money.

our panel submission doesn't end until this next monday. Then we go through the panels, write up a schedule to give to our staff and guests to check over for any mistakes (staff being scheduled to be two places at once, guests may want to take part in another panel while their panel is at the same time, etc), then we fix and re-make the schedule, resend it out for checks, etc. Then we can post that tentative schedule. I'm hoping to have it posted by or before the first week of Feb, but its not all in my power to control when I get the first schedule completely returned to me or the first remake, etc. I'll try to get it out as soon as possible tho.

He has actually managed to kill off some other cons, just not in AL or GA yet.
He better pull off a better show than any of his others if he honestly thinks he's going to survive in Atlanta. As for getting money, he screws over his dealers and sets himself up to be the main dealer at all his cons and he hardly ever has any guests at his cons. yeah, they get some non-anime guests, but so does most anime cons (at least the ones I go to). They try to appeal to lots of people while still getting their big name guests that are only anime related.

Do you have a complaint about it? If so, feel free to let me know, its close to the con, but I'll try to work on it (if nothing else for next year)

We try to have a large variety of guests because most anime fans aren't JUST fan of anime. They tend to like lots of things, so we bring lots of different guests. Some we bring because they put on a lot of fun panels or shows, some we bring back because of requests. We keep out 'Big Names' to anime vice actors. ha, eve has been posting on here. She's stirred up you guys about WCS. Shes the one insisting we dont know anything and to bring Ray in.
They can not be worked with, they can not be reasoned with and they are the most unprofessional people I have ever had the displeasure of trying to work with (and Ray was the one answering their sparse, illogical emails).
For anyone trying to work with them now, no, you will not get a response to your numerous emails begging for important info so you can put on their show until you do something that angers them, and then they'll only really email you back to yell at you, not to work with you. There is no 'working' with them. I honestly do not understand how they still exist. Also, be prepared for them to try to cancel on you multiple times if you don't say the lack of communication or any other problems are entirely your fault (despite your backlog of unanswered emails and messages you sent trying to get a response from them 2 months before your show).
Also, there is a very large possibility that your NDA was the same as ours which means it lacks:
-The definition of "confidential information" that the NDA deals with;
-Any exclusions from the confidential information;
-The obligations and duties of the party receiving the confidential information;
-The time periods for which the NDA will be valid and enforceable; and
-Any miscellaneous provisions.

which means it lacks pretty much any and all info that would make it an actual NDA. So good luck with that information.

Nah the con will be fine. They do a lot for the Southeast community.

They tend to be very caring. They even give out their badges for free if you want them to sponsor you during financially difficult times. They actually put on their con for free (For everyone) for 3 years all on the conchair's dime to help out cosplayers and fans in the area. If you look where they announced the cancelation, everyone is just happy that Kami-Con is fine. They are even offering refunds to those who were coming for WCS, and people are thankful for that.

Kami-Con is a small con for someplace like California, but it is one of the most important Anime cons in the southeast. It is growing a bunch every year, and this won't be a problem for them. All their guests go on and talk about how much they love them. They even get brought up in random Radio interviews as some of the best con's those guests have been to. They have also been ranked in the top 100 cons in the United states by major blogs around the net. I bet they grow a bunch this year too.
