I tried two versions of a nurse coord for you. The top one is my personal interpretation, inspired by Victorian nurses, and the bottom one is more of what I think you're expecting. Guessing your budget based on the BL main piece, I tried to keep everything BL, Taobao, or relatively cheap stuff. Exceptions are the VM apron and the MM bag, which Loris has a replica of anyway. The second bag is also Meta, but any similar bag could work IMO.

Yeah, I was definitely thinking all ivory (the dress is ivory) for the most part, but I'm sort of stuck on shoes? And a hat. I was thinking navy shoes (don't have any, but I'm sure I'll find a nice pair somewhere), and an ivory hat with navy accents would be ideal, but that might be kind of difficult to find. I guess what I'm struggling most with is other kinds of accessories, like necklace/bracelet, etc? I can never find ones I like.

>> No.8010481

>>8010476
It's an okay simple coord. I think you need to add more in terms of accessories. Either a headband with small bows or a hat would work well.

Other than that, can I just say that the print just makes you come off as obviously a new lolita? Like, it's such a ubiquitous Bodyline print that it always just makes people look like it's their first coord.

>> No.8010496

>>8010476
I think the same print on the bag and skirt is a bad idea. The general shopping bag shape doesn't help either. Maybe try a smaller brown leather bag next time. You could wear a small bow around your collar too or a clock necklace. And I don't think the collar shape/size flatters you at all. Makes your neck look very long and your head very small.
You're cute though. Love the socks and shoes.

I've asked about this dress before, but I srsly need help.
The boots would be ideal, but I don't own any and don't really know if it'll be worth it to buy new shoes just for a shitty bodyline coord. I have normalfag t strap heels in a similar style, but they make the bottom half of the coord seem kind of empty.
I'd put my hair up in the same color and style as that shitty taylor swift edit.

I think an updo is a bad idea for this co-ord. Your shoulders are going to look a mile wide unless you break up that block of pink somehow.

I would also lose the hoop earrings they tend to look chavvy. For shoes maybe get some pink tea parties instead anon?

>> No.8010678

>>8010656
You definitely need to pull more red/burgundy and gold into the coord. I'm not a huge fan of the solid white tights with this dress. I think the boots or t-strap heels are a step in the right direction though. I'm on mobile but if I get time I'll make a collage for you

You have a good start. However, a headbow would balance the silhouette out. You need something at the neckline and I would find some ivory legwear and blouse because the skirt has no white. Look for a cool-toned brown bag, like your shoe color.

>> No.8010993

>>8010656
Don't put your hair up like that and get a headbow. Also, don't use these tights, and definitely not those boots. Although I agree, boots would look nice with this dress, there's some cute Bodyline boots that only go halfway up the calves that would look cute.

There's nothing wrong with it per se as a cute plain outfit, but if you wanted to improve things I would actually go for a high-collar blouse rather than your current one, and a whole lot more accessories - your wrists, hands and head all look very bare.

>>8010656
Yeah, bin it all and start again - there's absolutely nothing coherent about what you have and there's nothing that reflects any of the very strong themes in the dress (i.e. the "military" or the "sweets" themes). If you must keep the shoes, I've put together something that vaguely works for them - the bows pick up on the motifs in the skirt, and the jewellery/bag/hair stuff hopefully balances the red and the sweet themes. I think the jacket could make it *too* military on top since you aren't wearing boots, but couldn't find a more basic open jacket/bolero that I liked with it - one in a similar shape but without all the buttons would be ok though.
If you were happy to start over entirely, I would go with pink x white x gold accents and play up the sweet motif a lot more, and go with white military boots with gold buttons to make it more cohesive - probably not pink boots just because I've heard the pink is hard to match.

It's pretty weird stuff, I'll give you that! Haven't a fucking clue where the skirt is originally from or why it's such a shape that I can stick a petti under it when it's meant to be like ankle length on someone.

I do love the idea of velvet. That just reminds me that there has been a distinct lack of velvet since the dawn of prints. For solid pieces like this the best thing is to play with textures, right?

That just looks like a regular formal skirt from a few years ago? It's not uncommon that the hem fits a pretty once you hike it up to knee length as a 2m hem width isn't all that much at floor length.

My boyfriend bought me the AP Dramatic Rose OP and Canotier in ivory for Xmas. I'm still quite new to lolita and I need some help!
I really want to do it with victorian boots to give it more of an elegant look (and since I'm not the biggest fan of chunky shoes). The problem is, though the dress is technically ivory, it seems more of an off-white (dress is still shipping so I can't confirm), and I'm not sure if I should go with white boots or ivory? All of the ivory ones I've seen are very dark (almost beige) and I feel wouldn't match as much as the white? But if the dress is super ivory then white wouldn't match?

Also, since I'm going with more of a "plain" shoe, I figured a subtle lace tight instead of a solid.
Suggestions? Thoughts? Much appreciated!

I'm of the same mind as >>8015625 and >>8015943, so I tried using a bodyline OP and making you a basic coord. Here's the thought process:
>OP
It's from BL but it's a solid piece, so the quality is at least ok. Reviews of this specific OP were pretty good, and it fits the basic pink you seemed to be looking for.
>tights
With a candy-themed purse and puffy pink dress it ran the risk of looking infantile. Introducing slightly more saturated colors helps ground it imo. They also fit the candy theme.
>brown wig
The blonde wig is a similar saturation to the pink dress, so it would blend together and look gross. A dark brown wig adds contrast and also looks less childish.
The tea parties and head bow are pretty self explanatory.

I think gold and pearls when I see that dress, so I put this together. The gold on the dress looks very yellow so I've tried to stick with very yellow gold. I think the shoes you have could also work well with it but the heels give it more of an elegance rather than cutesy feel, if you were to go with the platforms I would maybe go with slightly simpler and chunkier jewellery (plain pearl choker/bracelet, single strand of star charms, and chunkier rings) to match the feeling of the chunky platforms. I know you said you were going to handmake a headdress - what did you have in mind? I just chucked the star clip in as a placeholder.

I think having obvious bunnies on your legs is going to steer it away from classy, so I would recommend white-on-white tights with flowers especially if you're going with white flowers on your head. The patterns I've seen are either daisies or roses, and I think the former would work better with the dandelions. If you wanted to go for 'cute', of course pink or white socks with bunny patterns on them would be the thing to go for (pink, obviously, requiring an introduction of that as a third colour in your outfit, but at least it matches the dress colours).

>>8015894
I don't like that random rosette on the pants. If anything, I would put that on a jacket/blazer. Both pairs of shoes leave me underwhelmed - the first will cover the awesome socks, the second look like they'd be better with a classic lolita outfit. I would prefer shoes that actually look like men's dress shoes, with a chunky thick sole, or calf-length platform boots.

Blonde x pink sounds cute. My concern is that the darker pink with all the other light pink might be out of place, would sax or white shoes maybe work better? Have you thought of what you want to do with hair accessories/jewellery/bag as well? You can probably get away without a necklace or bracelet, but accessories may help to bring a second colour in especially if you go with a different coloured shoe.

I'm stuck on this dress again - all my outfits are really samey and either involve being vintage-with-pearls-and-silver-and-heels or just wearing it with black. Unfortunately I still haven't found purple items that match the cats closely enough for my liking, I don't wear much pink these days, and nearly all blouses look hideous with the collar. Any ideas for a more lolita outfit in colours to coordinate with it that aren't black or pink, and suit someone with a mainly dark jewel toned wardrobe? I was thinking I need legwear/a bolero in my accent colour and could just wear black shoes, but plain block colour tights with this dress seem too heavy.

How extravagant do you want this to be? I think your shoes and your bags are leaning towards a simple, classic coord so I would go with the blouse on the left and the haircombs. I would pick a different wig so it wouldn't look too sweet, plus it would look weird with the soldier hat.

>> No.8023541

I don't like either of those OTKs, they're too "rigid" looking for the whimsy of the dress. The book bag is too elegant classic, but the other one might work. I'd look at some more options for it still. I would go with the right blouse personally, it's sweeter than the left even if it's fancier. The shoes and the headbow are decent. You need some OTKs with some of that pink in them, I think. The ones you have ignore the main colours too much.

>> No.8023550

>>8023541
Actually I don't really like either of the bags at all. I don't think you need more wine than the shoes and the blouse, especially if you have some wine jewellery. Sorry I can't give any specific examples for replacements, I'm too tired to find things. But I'd go with something just a touch sweeter. I know you're trying to bring the dress into a slightly classic feel, but it won't work with elegant classic accessories so you'll have to go with a sweeter classic for that dress.

If you find some OTKs with pink in them, the pink Jewlry Ribbon bag or Crown purse on APs site right now (or something like them) would look cute. A gold bag would work well, too.

That's tarot print, right? I've never been able to figure out if they went with a white, off white or beige for the lighter bits, but assuming it's quite beige-y from your blouse I think you're better off with tights that pick up the roses on the print since there's a big chunk of light colour on the skirt anyway. The shoes are very bland, but if you own them already they're fine. I don't really 'get' the bag with this outfit so I substituted that as well, although I can't find anyone selling the Le Mort clutch so you may be stuck with a tote or cloth shoulder bag if you actually want a tarot print - otherwise something more opulent would be nice. I don't necessarily think you will need a whole lot of jewellery with the long sleeves and everything going on at the neckline but you have a few options, from metallic tarot to roses to possibly even pearls.

I agree with the other anon about the pinks not matching. I think the top pair of shoes anyway since the chunky shoes are a bit out of place with the rest of the coord - it's looking more sweet classic than old school. I'd say the first blouse because the ruffle might sit really nicely with the neckline of the dress.

The tights don't match the second one at all. I know there's cats on the print, but you can't assume all cats match each other - the tights are VERY pink, if you get the replica ones, and there's not really any big chunk of pink elsewhere in the outfit. I went with head to toe brown, accenting it with the gold stars you already had and adding some extra sweets jewellery that looks vaguely like the print.

I'm really resisting the urge to pair this with aqua blue because it doesn't sound like you at all. They're not very exciting, and if you're going to fork out $40-odd for basic tier mary janes you may be better spending slightly more and buying decently comfortable shoes on sale, like Hush Puppies, Naturalizer or Clarks (as well as their websites, look at sellers on amazon/ebay that have older stock), and bow shoe clips. Or if it's budget that concerns you, look for any generic school shoe store and you'll probably find mary janes with chunky heels.

I found these stunning necklaces on the right. My SS tells me I can choose between "Navy" and "peacock blue". As I haven't seen the dress IRL can any of you who perhaps own it tell me which shade of blue would suit it best? I'm thinking Navy but I wanted to hear your feedback.

Yeah, you could, and it'd be pretty cheap. Maidenclothing has some reasonably priced old school blouses with the giant peter pan collars/bell sleeves, and then you wear a rectangle headdress, white knee socks with lace and black mary-janes.

>>8037031
The easiest thing to do will be pairing it with white and gold (so white blouse, white x old tights, white or gold shoes) and picking up the motifs on the dress for your accessories. That purple looks like the 'iris' AaTP shade which is a pain and a half to match - the only other brands I've occasionally seen use it are Meta and Atelier Pierrot. I would also consider using a very light, blue-toned lavender colour as a second coord shade - meta have some nice cardigans at the moment.

How to coord a plain cream OP....?

>> No.8037460

>>8037416

option A: monotone coord (ie- all ivory)
I'd keep the number of pieces low to minimize mismatch, eg- a pair of cream lace tights, and then cream/offwhite shoes and bag that match each other. Accessorize with gold jewellery, maybe add some offwhite pearls.

option B: add a muted colour
Muted colours such as dusty pink, olive, camel, beige, dusky blue, go really well with cream, you can add them in as brooches, hair flowers, bracelets, bag charms, shoes, etc. You can either add just the one item for a pop of colour (eg- an all-ivory coord and then olive green shoes), or you can scatter a few touches of colour (eg- pink flowers, pink brooch, pink bag). Keep an eye on the balance, don't go overboard adding colourful things.

option c: white underneath
Add a white blouse underneath the dress. Then you're free to wear white tights/socks instead of cream/ivory. You can also add darker colours such as wine or brown, but as with adding muted colours, don't go overboard.

option d: add a darker colour on top
Bordeaux, dark purple, and brown all work well with cream. You can either add it as a bolero or cardi, or treat the dress as an underdress and add another dress on top. I'd keep the leggings cream or ivory, and have the shoes be the darker colour.

There's probably more ways to wear it, idk. Cream OPs are more limited by the skintones/personality that can pull it off and the time/place/occasion than the number of colour combinations you can make with them.

They really don't have to be half your rent, their less popular styles get flicked to bargain outlets for $15-$20 a pop. Look at their outlet stuff and look at other retailers that have them on special. >>8047682
My feeling is no. If you want to shoehorn these into a sailor lolita outfit, see if you can find Angelic Pretty's sax blue school series second hand. As much of a cliche as it is, a tea-party themed sweet lolita outfit also springs to mind when I look at those tights. Usually sailor stuff is summer stuff, so if you want to wait for summer releases you may find something you really like.

Easymode is to treat it like a jsk that you have to wear with the matching bolero, and pair it with a black high collar blouse, black tights, black boots, and wear the collar thing as a rectangle headdress. You could also go basic old school as fuck with headbow, black knee socks, and black shoes (preferably the chunky platform Demonias - Dolly-01 I think is the style name).

I'm not so fond of mixing gold and silver, but I do like those tights a lot, so I'll check when her shop opens again to see if she has a pair in silver. The tricorn is a bit much for me, but that bag is definitely right up my alley.

Thanks, anon!

As for head wear, a beret is pretty safe but I think they look cute in sailor coords.

They do come in silver and black, so that's fantastic. And I was actually thinking a beret would work as a safe-but-cute head wear choice. Thanks again; you've been a ton of help.

I like it. Are the tights solid black though? I'd replace them with something lighter, preferable white with some cute nautical or horror pattern. I also don't see why you'd slap pirate on a cthulhu sailor, I especially dislike the dark colors. If you want something more over the top find squid accessories.

I originally was going to use these tights in black, but they got a run in them, so I decided solid black would be a safe bet until I found some new ones. I didn't want to get white tights since my shoes are also white, but maybe white with black detailing could work better.

you guys are so sweet its giving me cavities. your shoes and pose makes me think you were going for a more classic look, try accentuating the darker brown of the ribbon with some rings or other jewelery, try a cameo pin or bow over the top button of the blouse, or maybe a nice brooch to spice up the blouse. also a cute beret or hat of some sort and some better hairstyling might help balance you out without you having to get a wig which may end up ruining your face cause your current cut seems to suit you nicely.

tbh I don't like this at all, I think it's far too fussy looking and the whole 'crosses on fucking everything' look doesn't really lend itself to the clean, crispness of the dress. I know I'm biased here though because of all the coords I've seen with this dress, I think by far the nicest have been relatively simple, with emphasis on quality accessories and elegant styling.

If you really like these pieces, I'd go for the shoes and a plain headdress (ie no metal embellishments) or the headdress and plain shoes, but not both. If you go for gold, you'd probably want a gold pendant too to make it look bold, deliberate and coherent

I think crosses on everything works in pic related because of the busy print, there's no getting away from all the crosses so it makes sense to roll with it; with Nameless Poem however, I actually think you're taking something away from the aesthetic.

>> No.8050061

>>8049811
Really? I would agree with you if it were plain version, simpler definitely seems better (this also goes for all the Boz/Moitie dresses with similar styling), but with the embroidered version I quite like the idea of a small embellishment on everything because the crosses on shoes + headdress are relatively small, like the crosses on the dress itself. I think the coord in your picture has more clusterfuck potential, especially since that pendant is probably gonna get lost in the sea of gold crosses and chest bow and the charm bracelet mostly doesn't relate to the cross motif - plus the shoes are kinda eh, the ones with the gold buttons are very military-ish and don't really fit, and the lace boots will probably get lost in lace tights.

I actually really like >>8049283 coord more than I do yours. Yours seems too overwhelming; while hers is really clean and simple. I agree to the statement someone made about either getting all gold details, or all silver.

I think it's a simple good coord (I bought the same shoes for the Nameless Poem) but I think the beret fits a lot better. The dress is so minimal in the most positive sense with little lace, so the headdress looks like too over the top for it if you don't pull it together with more accessories which would result in a very different, imo worse look.
Also pic related is what the dress is based on I believe.

Hoping for concrit on this outfit. There isn't much here in this image, really I want to get an idea of what bag would look best(1,2 or 3) and what shoes would look best(1,2 or 3). I'm thinking of doing a light pink X dark pink coord.

For the bags, I want them to be bear shaped to go with the print on the dress. Shoes #1 I own already but the event I hope to wear the coord may have alot of walking and I find them to be uncomfortable after walking for 30 mins or so. I'm leaning towards the teaparties, but I was hoping shoes#1 would look good with the coord as a backup in case I don't get the shoes on time.

Also if ye can suggest improvements/socks/accessories that would be helpful

I'm old school sweet so not much experience here either.
I'd say introduce black shoes, bag, lace stockings, etc. as another colour rather than being matchy and using gold shoes like sweet would. Simple gold jewelery.
Classic would be much easier than gothic. I'd remove the pearl chain for gothic (is the bow removable?). You can keep it for classic if you balance it with lighter tights.
Blouses are easier without the choker thing, but with it on a chiffon material would be cute. Long sleeves obviously.
If it didn't have the giant bow, the choker could be quite gothic.
Just think more toned down, elegant styling. Darker colours, lace..

I haven't bothered trying to match the wine colour since photos range from quite red to dark wine depending on the light, hence why I cheated and went with the matching headdress. I think it could be easily substituted with a similar black headdress, or if you were keen on an updo like crown braids or similar style you might be able to get away with small gold and pearl hairclips studded in the braid. If you want to wear a blouse with it, definitely detach the halter neck first and probably go for something high collar or the wide neck ones that Atelier Pierrot makes specifically for corset JSKs - and then you can keep the pearl theme with a choker/bracelet/earrings, plus with that sort of blouse it will definitely have more of a gothic-classic feel to it.

If you feel like buying anything in the picture, the earrings are on etsy, bolero is on fururun, the tights are Bebe gold damask on ebay, the handbag is on ebay, the gold shoes are Funtasma dame and can be found on any number of alt-fash sites (just shop around for a cheap price) and the black shoes are TUK although you can find any number of generic black lace-up boots in winter anyway.
