One time, I anonymously sent a message to a cosplayer I saw on my Dash. It was just some advice, saying, "you should try this, and here's where you can get it." Nothing rude about what I said at all. And the cosplayer didn't freak out or anything, but just straight up said "well I just prefer it this way + I don't have enough money", and so on. So like, whatever, at least they didn't throw a fit. Here's where their followers come in. Some of their followers commented on the post jumped to their defense and asserted that they could cosplay any way they like and that it's precious and perfect and all that coddling bullshit.

It's not like I said "hey, you're ugly, you're a horrible person, and your cosplay is terrible", the cosplay really wasn't that bad. I just made a suggestion as to how it could be better. But Tumblr is allergic to improvement and progress... and that's what grinds my gears.

Calm down anon. I ended up gaining almost 45 pounds during my pregnancy. After I gave birth about 30 of that came off right away. I'm still stuck with some of the extra weight but I haven't been actively trying to lose it. I gained so much from being lazy with exercising during pregnancy.

If you watch what you eat(since you're suppose to be doing that anyway) and keep yourself active, you should be fine. After you deliver the baby. Talk to your doctor about what exercises are okay to do. If you're breast feeding you're suppose to have an extra 500 calories or so for breastmilk production.

Fake buttons always flop down irl because the shank isn't supported by the fabric layer(s) that would surround an actual button hole. Either design the garment so that buttons are needed there, or think of something else.

Oddly enough I'm still in the fandom and haven't experienced it that much. Then again I mostly concentrate on Moriarty because the rest of the characters are kinda drab.

I've gotten criticism too, never for the terminology for obvious reasons but often about how I'm oppressing wimmin by not writing about them when none of the female characters even had anything to do with the story, or how I suffer from internalised misogyny because I haven't praised Irene Adler to death. She's a terribly written character because apparently in the Sherlock universe being a strong female character means being an oversexed dominatrix, her sex appeal is her only personality trait. I don't like her. Cry moar.

I guess my only advice is to delete/ignore the annoying posts and keep writing for the people that like it. There's so many nice writers in the fandom, it's a pity to see someone chased out by SJWs. And don't worry about the terms, as long as the characters speak as they normally do you can write the rest as you are used to.

I constantly see "accepting donations please help me" posts from cosplayers on tumblr where some teen essentially begs for money to "escape her abusive family". Usually the situation is as follows: A trans teen experiences abuse from their family because they're trans, and wants to move out. Instead of, you know, contacting child protective services or some other authority, they want to move out "to be safe".

I'm probably too jaded but I'm calling bullshit on most of these. Unless you have some proof about the ongoing abuse, you could be making all this up and essentially begging for money after a family dispute so you can continue indulging yourself in the Tumblr fantasy world. The description is always left so vague but threatening ("I'm afraid my parents might hit me or kick me out") or straight out twisting things for their own benefit. Like their mother saying "You're not going to go outside dressed up like that, miss!" could turn to be "My mom doesn't accept me being trans* and she keeps misgendering me and telling me I'm not her son, she's so threatening I'm afraid she might turn violent". I used to do a lot of this when I was a teenager, twisting my mom's slashouts be like the worst, most horrifying cases of child abuse. A lot of teens do this, I had friends who were masters at playing the victim. And counting the time they've spent browsing Tumblr's SJW side, they probably think in all actuality that trans* teens get regularly killed for being trans.

And what are they begging the money for? They never have a clear goal of how much they need and for what. Judging from their Tumblr posts, the money will most likely go into clothing, bought cosplays, makeup and wigs. It's strange how they claim to receive no support from their parents due to them being trans but they seem to live a pretty nifty life with unnecessary luxuries.
