8044761 No.8044761 [Reply] [Original]

half a year ago Lace Market switched onwers, a new team of mods had been formed. They promised a lot, yet nothing changed. Everybody seemed motivated to make Lace Market a better platform, what happend?

>> No.8044773

Heard from someone on here that Alice never actually handed it off to people, just made a big stink and then quietly stopped contacting the people who offered help. Don't know how true it is given that it was here, but it'd make a lot of sense.

>> No.8044837

>>8044773
wow, if this is true it is a really shitty thing to do. Man I had hopes that LM would finally turn better.

>> No.8045201

Idk if this is the wrong thread but is there any other place to look at secondhand sales? Egl seems dead, and I don't want to use facebook because my normie friends cant know about this lmao.

>> No.8045204

>>8045201

>my normie friends cant know about this lmao

I feel you, anon. Not really friends, just classmates who hand out stolen exam answers from time to time so I grudgingly befriend them because they're generous.

>> No.8045252

I just want to search the website for ten minutes without it crashing.... that's all I want.

>> No.8045276

>>8044773
I dunno. Why would she decline help?

LM is a fantastic platform, and I would donate, but after having lost 3 of my dream dresses to other bidders since LM started because the site went down, I find myself balking.

>inb4 but LM will continue to go out without your support!!

Seriously, I'm not even mad at this point. I just think it has a crapton of potential and I would pay to use it if it got updated and stopped crashing randomly like a pushed beta release.

Seriously, I love LM.

>> No.8045291

I'd like lacemarket a lot more if it wasn't full of shitty handmade and fakes. It's not always bad, but sometimes it's like the site isn't being modded at all.

>> No.8045371

Would anyone be interested in a new site which would actually function, but also have other types of secondhand jfashion? I am one of the people that asked to take it over but was declined. It has so many problems (ex: shitty search engine), that i would loved to have fixed =/

Would people still stick by Lacemarket because it was the first?

>> No.8045418

>>8045371
I'd move over if that was the case. Adding other fashions seems great.

>> No.8045422

>>8045418
Seconding. Having more stuff and a better engine would definitely make me move over!

>> No.8045423

As a friend of Alice I can confirm she has nothing to do with it anymore. She's not even really into lolita anymore and doesn't really have time for side projects. Not like I can provide proof so it's my word vs. some other 'gulls.

>> No.8045426

>>8045418
i think that would be a little harder to manage because i can see people trying to sell things that just barely break the lines of j-fash or some other things because 'well, i sorta looks like x!'
it can be done, but you have to write the guidelines very solidly and the mods have to ever present.
not to mention, there is always the chance that mods' opinions may vary on an article of clothing. ya know, some of them seeing the article as an okay piece or j-fash while others think it's completely out of place.

>> No.8045430

>>8045426
maybe there should be an offbrand/j-fashion-able section? i mean it help weed out the terrible shit and for people who want to challenge themselves, they can go there as well

>> No.8045433

>>8045371
I don't really care for LM so I'd be interested in trying a new site that would run better, plus other adding other fashions sounds like a good idea too

>> No.8045435

>>8045426
oh wait! i think i figured out a little solution:
the site can be broken off into different sections according to j-fash styles and each section could have mods that are more or less well-experienced in said j-fash to mod the listings.
or something like that

i would be interested! lm is alright but i see many problems with it as well and would love to try something new! and other j fashs is also a great idea, most lolitas do other fashions on the side so i feel like it would fit it perfectly, just have different categories for it. and >>8045430 is a must!

YESSSS. FINALLY A PLACE FOR MORI.

>> No.8045455

>>8045435
That would be nice, or like a big site that links to smaller sites for each fashion. I would love a mori/cpk site or fairy kei. Grouping mori and cpk because honestly most items go together.

>>8045371
are you >>8041216?

I was thinking today after reading that thread and thinking about the fee-per-transaction like what >>8041228 said. If that kind of money would make the website more stable, then I think there could be packages one could buy with their account to make the site more convenient for them.

The new website should be free to lurk through but I do think paying a fee for selling items would be a good idea. There should be ads because people lurking for free would still cost money. However, there could be packages that could make it more convenient to the users that pay it.

Option 1: No ads for a certain amount of months or so. There should be a range of times and the longer times have more savings.
Option 2: A seller's pass. For a certain time range, you can sell off your items at a lower fee. This can be helpful if you're constantly selling items. If you buy the pass for a longer time, you'll end up with more savings. no ads could be included as well.

And a few service that with a fee:
For buyers: An email notification that a dream dress has appeared on the site? This can only work if the names of dresses could be easily cataloged but I dunno.
For sellers: Having your listing pinned to the front page for a certain amount of time. There should be a limited amount of times you can do this though and limited numbers of spots, so its fair and be less of a spam.

Also having a WTB section would be extremely useful too.
Sorry if this is dumb or impractical, it was just some ideas I had!

>> No.8045529

>>8045371
Would love a site that included different jfashion a, especially if we could search by fashion types.

>> No.8045543

>>8045478
I'm the first anon, not the same as the other. I've had this idea for a while and now I am seriously thinking of implementing it. There might be a small fee, but I also want to try and have some sort of actual customer service, instead of just "oh go file a paypal claim" like shitty storenvy.

I try to look for mori girl fashion on western markets, but most of it is thrift store junk. There are jems you can find at the thrift store, but it's rare. If I could gets some wonder rocket and other mori brands at a decent price I would be ecstatic.

>> No.8045557

>>8045545
Seeing all this excitement for mori, i will definitely make it a category.

>> No.8045566

>>8045276
I also love lace market! But it is really shitting me to tears how it is always crashing, it seems like it is getting more frequent.

I wish it was better, I honestly would love it if it became the main place to buy, cause I'm also sick of having to go to like 5 different places to check every day. I would be eternally happy if LM was the only one I had to check, as I feel like its the best.

It has so much potential!!

>> No.8045572

>>8045371
I would be cool with other Jfashion's on the site if they could be filtered out if your not interested. Because that would just be annoying.

Like its already annoying enough that I have to wade through skirts, JSKs, socks etc. in the bag section of LM. I'd hate to have to wade through other Jfash I'm not interested in, even if it is in the appropriate section. It would really turn me off the site.

>> No.8045660

it would be easiest if people ticked categories etc., and there could be warnings/auto-deletion of your listing if you click multiple categories that are unrelated to what you're selling.

>> No.8045675

>>8045252
Same

>> No.8045958

>>8045371
Honestly, I would love to see a site with J-fashion included, but I'm just scared people will put their shitty handmade, Hot Topic, and off-brand bullshit on there that won't even be any real J-fash anything.
Then people will be forced to slog through it to find good things.

>> No.8046001

>>8045371
I'd do it.
But I think the packages idea to generate income are a great idea--maybe have the default option be either a 15 day auction or 30 day BIN, and the other options have small fees for a per-item listing or you can buy passes for bulk listings.

>> No.8046015

>>8045478
Why not just charge a percentage fee off sales like ebay?

>> No.8046373

>message person about accepting a payment plan instead of auction
>email says I've got a message
>I can't check my messages at all; "web server is down 505" error
>it's been over a day and still can't log in

Goddamnit. All I want is a pretty dress to celebrate losing weight.

>> No.8046669

is it just more or is the faves list not working at all...?

>> No.8046685

>>8046373
Haha yeah... I spent a good day just to message a buyer back.

>> No.8046694

>>8046669
It doesn't and hasn't for a while. When you add one thing to your faves, trying to add anything else gets you a "this is already in your favorites" message. LM is broken as fuck.

>> No.8046699

>>8046373
It took a week for my to actually sell a dress once the auction ended...every time I tried to send or read messages I'd get a bad gateway error.
I wish I had the skills to work on this, I love the idea but I know I'm not the only one losing out on money because of accessibility to listings/messages and errors...
