I have issues about Bodyline shoes. I got a pair with heels some time ago and my big toe suffers, also the leather is too damn hard even if i put some fur or cotton in the toe box area. Also, even with insoles, the shoes are a pain to walk.

I think someone in the last thread wanted a review of costume 598, but I kept forgetting to post one for a couple days (sorry anon). Here are some shitty phone pictures of me wearing it, and my cozy pajama socks because it's cold. I got the maid outfit in brown, and it's nicely constructed and the fabric is comfortable. The bow and the apron are detachable, so you can probably wear this casually if you wanted to. You just need a petti when wearing it, because otherwise it's quite shapeless. On the headband there are these cheap ribbon bows that I think I'm going to cut off since they're annoying. I'm 5'1", and the dress goes down mid thigh, so just a warning to anybody a lot taller that wants to buy a size M.

You might manage to squeeze into it but you'll look like a cinched balloon. Get over it and something that fits. Other Bodyline lolita pieces go to 4L. If too big to fit into those, maybe it's a sign...if you're determined, buy 2 skirts and sew them together, they are cheap enough. It's been done.

Yep. In my personal experience, lolita brands really disappointed me simply because of the hype. Everyone tells you entering lolita that brands are the best ever but first AP and I just grimaced. It was good construction, and the printing was clean, but honestly? Nothing worth squealing and staring at the screen about.
For that amount I could have gone crazy in a random outlet mall. Wait for a good safe and bought a ton of high quality brand outside of lolita.
Bodyline isn't great quality and I'm not saying that it can rival brand in any way, but I know that I'm paying cheap to get cheaper quality material. Though I prefer Infanta blouses over bodyline's anyday.

I find it pretty hard to get a NWT brand item for that cheap, especially if it's a print.
True it's probably easier on the Y!japan auctions, but at that point it's troublesome. I have to deal with the shipping cost, the shopping service and by the end of the day, I'm not even guaranteed the item. It's much simpler to go through the bodyline website, pick out a few items that I like and feel content that I don't have to worry about any fees but still get cute stuff.

Also, what is the quality of Old Navy? I don't shop there. Is it similar to NY&co? Or would you say its closer to Dress Barn?

You don't need a shopping service to get stuff from Closet Child or Usagiyouhinten, they take international orders. Also Usagiyouhinten gives you cheaper shipping options as well if you don't want to go with EMS. Sure you're still paying a bit more money but it's a whole lot of quality upgrade. BL's stuff may be cheaper but like another anon pointed out in an earlier thread, there's more often than not something kind of to really off about the design that makes them look weird as lolita pieces.

It's hard to say as I lost a bit of weight while waiting for it/before wearing it, but I think it ended up being 10-15 CM bigger than expected. I thought it might be too big in the bust as I was about 3 CM below the size for M, so I got an L. It wasn't too bad as the apron ties helped a lot, but I wish I had bought the smaller size.

Cheap material and construction. H&M is better quality.

The only BL piece I didn't think was awful material wise is that red floral one since it's more of a canvas material instead of the shitty polyester. There's a lot of weird design choices (like the lace on the pie dress) and the materials kill it. There's maybe 2 dresses and 1 or 2 skirts that don't suffer from at least one problem.
I like them for the shoes though.
Taobao is much better than bodyline, some is even on par with brand.
