Can anyone tell me what the "dress one piece" is? Is it the one with the bib? Does that mean they're not releasing this version?

When you are torn like this always get the dress that will be harder to find again. You can track down the more common dress at a later date when you have money again.

AP is doing a made to order meaning that there will be no shortage of them at a reasonable price if you want to buy it later. Think of how hard it is to find Day Dream Carnival or Cosmic second hand.....yeah no they are pretty much everywhere.

Meanwhile tracking down used VM and MM pieces is royal bitch. The girls who tend to buy those brands hang on to their stuff.

Buyer wanted express postage to make deadline being christmas (express comes at expense of buyer)
The mail system was delayed at nobody's fault, so the dress was later than usual despite being sent express.
The buyer is sandy because their dress was later than they expected and demands that the seller compensate for this, despite not being the seller's fault.
The buyer needs to was the sand out because they opted for a flawed delivery system that was not anybody's fault. They already got a cheap dress, end of story.
Seller also responded within a 48hr timeframe which is more than appropriate to questions.

Need some advice. I have a buyer problem of a different sort. I sold a girl and everything went well. Then, my package got returned. That was three weeks ago. I've been trying to contact the buyer via LJ since that's all I have, but she hasn't been replying.

There's nothing on the box that tells me why it was returned, there's post office tape all over it and another paper with my buyer's name and address.

Any advice? She never filed a paypal claim that I could tell, and the transaction was months ago. At this point I'm really tempted to do a partial refund minus the cost of shipping and some "restock" fee and then reposting the items for sale. Should I get the mods involved or something?

Stupid question, in IW's sale, is the 15% discount taken from the price of the item BEFORE tax or AFTER tax? I feel dumb for not knowing, but I'm from a country where sales tax is automatically factored into the price tag on an item of clothing, so I'm not sure.

So I got an AatP dress, and it's in need of quite a bit of TLC before I can wear it, including removing the boning since it's beyond warped and poking through the dress. I usually replace boning with flat steels or if I don't have steels of the right length, better plastic boning. If it's poking through you can probably insert new boning and tack it all back into place. For the bonnet, I would steam it and gently manipulate it back into place before ironing it directly. Starching just stiffens stuff, so it may just fix it in a warped position if you haven't got it in the right place to start with.

Anything from before 2008 can *really* small, I've seen skirts that only fit a 57cm waist or less. On average, most un-shirred skirts had a 61~62cm max measurement.

I once liked a normal black dress so much I went back and bought 2 more of it, then wore the dresses for 7 years until they all finally began to show too much pilling. Having three dresses distributed the wear and tear across them, and the dress was so perfect I wore it at least once a month (usually more often than that though).

I think, when I fall in love with a print, it tends to be a full blown affair, I'd do things like get the matching accessories or different cuts even if I only liked one colourway. For the ones I like multiple colourways, it's so difficult to decide which one to keep and which one to sell, so I end up keeping them all.

I found Cosmic jsks in-store right after the preorder came out, so I guess there's a slim chance.

If there is some extra stock in other stores, AP will eventually change the "sold out" sign on the dress to the white "order in from other shop" button, and you'll be able to get your relative or someone to buy it then (it needs cash on delivery, which Tenso don't do) instead of having them look in-store, so keep checking back on the site.

You can also try AP USA, they might get the dress in later.

I am making a jsk. I have a bustier already. I am debating if I should do a pleated gored skirt or a plain gored skirt. It will be a-line. I want to wear it kind of casually as well. Someone decide for me?

I'll try that. I'm planning on doing a review comparing various brands (Low to high tier quality) as far as construction goes. Little things like zippers and small details, down to big things like liners and hems. I'm hoping that helps out a bit. It's not impossible to make great handmade, so I don't want to come off as a brand whore. I'm just looking for a way to help the new girls make better choices.

This color is not typical of any of the lolita coloways. Also what you are describing has nothing to do with lolita fashion. It just seems a little foolish to imagine coordinating an expensive Lolita outfit from scratch around one inexpensive, off-brand hair accessory. It's more usual to add accessories once your main Lolita piece is chosen, and compliment the accessories to it, not the other way around. The good Lolita flower crowns I have seen also use higher quality flowers. These look a little cheap, tbh.

I've found a second hand one up for sale, but I'm a little worried about the quality. I don't have much experience with enamel other than that Btssb heart pouch. I don't expect high end quality, but that Btssb one is really crap (I guess it's more of a Lucky Pack product anyway.)

I really feel like wigs are holding this fashion behind. It gives people who don't suit the look a way in while also perpetuating the costume appearance. Only very high quality, well styled wigs should ever be used, but everyone just uses shitty cosplay wigs, even lolita models use poor quality wigs (but they can at least pull it off somewhat better)
I really think that wig usage is one of the final hurdles that the fashion has to overcome to reach a level where it can be accepted as a true fashion. Other issues would be less people wearing it as a costume. You know who you are, people dressing only to meets and cons.

If you're wearing a good wig, no one will be able to tell that you're wearing one. It makes zero difference. If you have short hair, or thin hair, does that automatically make you unsuitable for the fashion? Because that's bullshit and you know it. Wigs are perfectly acceptable in fashion.

I feel the same way. Worn right, a fashion wig won't look fake. Most of the time when I wear wigs with Lolita, people assume it's my real hair unless they know me well enough to know that I love wigs and have a ton of different ones. I wear all natural colors, and choose similar shades that suit my skin type and outfits. It can be done very well.

Wow, two trolls in one. We have the natural hair only troll and I remember the comment in the pet peeves thread about lolitas who only wear it for meets and cons (derailing that entire thread I might add).

Stay mad anon, some days my hair drys perfectly, others it doesn't, and wigs are one of the best ways to get a perfect style going. I also think full wigs look better with most lolita head wear as well.

I'm actually at work now, and I just got finished moving a bunch of dusty old computers around. Sorry I don't like the thought of getting my burando dirty during the 40hrs of work I have during the entire week.

Fuck, this so hard. My hair looks god damn beautiful some days, and others it looks like I rolled around in a pile of fleece and then rubbed it on the carpet for good measure.

Plus I have a lot of very fine hair, so it doesn't hold any sort of styling unless I turn it into a helmet with hairspray.

"You're not doing it right," "you're using the wrong products," "you're too lazy," etc. Please talk to my coach and get back to me on that one. Three hours of styling, falls flat before I even get on the floor. There's a reason my entire team always just wore various braids, and that reason is my hair. Wigs are the only way I get anything but slightly wavy shoulder length bob, that sometimes flips out on one side and under on the other.

Left ones both look like Memorial Cake 2.0, the lavender version is classier while the pink seems sweeter.
The other pink print seems like it's next years horse print with that big rocking horse on it.
The only print that made my curious to see close is the right one, looks very much like a butterfly print.
But I'm also a bit underwhelmed, prints and cuts are same old story. I'd love to have more kitschy prints again but with the classic trend going I know this won't happen, but one can dream.
