If it's a group that sings the same songs but switches members around, then the costume matters more.

When it's a group like Perfume or Babymetal, then appearance matters as well.

It was terrible though, even akb fans thought it was garbage. But I think it was a guilty pleasure for most, the girls and costumes are still cute. The forced drama plot was nonsense, just about as bad as that im@s anime with the mechs, so unnecessary.

Nope, Love Live currently has that top spot. Wug didn't look as polished as LL, but I also think it made a great idol anime. I like Idolm@ster too, but I thought the anime was pretty lackluster.

All the gimmicky shit they've tried (idols banned by the government?) has never sold well either, so I'm glad they've started making more idol anime about idols. Wow, what a concept, no space or mech bullshit in the way.

WUG was way over dramatic and the ending was underwhelming. LL is ok, but I still preferred im@s over it.

0048 was based on real idols, which was ridiculously cool, plus had AKB's actual music which is already super popular, and it was voiced by real idols. You can't say AKB fans thought it was garbage because AKB fans will literally buy anything that has their favorite girls in it, and with Mayuyu voicing Chieri, Aki-p laughed all the way to the bank.

It didn't sell well, at all. Especially considering how big AKB is, I was pretty surprised honestly. Here are the units for each:

Not saying sales equals quality, but considering what a small project LL started off as before the anime, it mauled AKB, which already had a huge following.
