lockshop tights are also super tall (and plus-size) friendly. I can't find them on the new site though.

>> No.7961061

Honestly there aren't brands that are tall friendly, but a lot of different brands have tall friendly pieces from time to time.

Also, being tall is one thing, but the proportions are another. I'm 5'9 and I am all leg, I have a fairly average to short torso so I can wear things like 89cm AP and look just fine where as my friend who is only 5'7 with a longer torso cannot.

It is probably going to be a lot more work because some brands offer things at random and most of them would work for girls with only longer legs.

Yes. The first JSK I ever bought luckily had adjustable button straps, I'm going to make straps with buttone holes on end and buttons on the either so I can elongate the dresses and move the bust down. I wanted to buy my first dress from taobao but going by their measurements and comparing to the picture it seems the waist is boob level. So I was thinking skirts is the way to go.

>> No.7983469

Very new and recently ordered a dress for my first coord. At 5'7" I'm not ridiculously tall, but to fit the dress I wanted lengthwise I would've had to go for a medium while an extra-small was absolutely perfect for my hip/waist/bust measurements. I ended up ordering in between at a regular small, so I'll have to see how that fits when it gets here.

ALWAYS. First it was a pain, now I always alter the straps on JSK's and actually learned that I can look cute in empire waist. BC all normal waist jsk's are emprie waist on me even after lengthening straps.
And I can never buy brand OP's, and that sucks D:

>> No.7985135

>>7982996
It gets on my nerves when people assume a longer skirt makes a tall friendly dress. it des not, The real issue is the bodice, argh. A short dress is very easy to fix, you can wear an underskirt or add a tier of ruffles or tulle. But when the bodice is too short there is only so much you can do.
Lengthening the straps on JSK's is tricky, if you lengthen them too much it looks weird because the bust part will be too low. And with OP's it's especially tricky. If it's a solid color OP and you don't mind altering brand, what I did once was getting the dress to a professional seamstress and she added panels of fabric on the shoulder seams. It worked wonders!

>> No.7985139

>>7985135
>tfw 5'10

sorry bbys.

I think that some girls also don't take into consideration differences in torso length. Having a short torso and long legs is prett uncommon though.

>> No.7985143

>>7982998
I find it a pain that brands usually list the dress's total length and skirt length, but not the bodice's lenght. And no, substracting the skirt length from the total length does not work. Yea, I tried doing that with no sucess.
When buying second hand I can always ask the seller to measure it for me but it would be so useful to have that stuff on Lolibabry

You would probably want to look at both your nape of neck to natural waist measurement and your inseam/total height ratio.

Average nape of neck to waist measurements range from 14in to 17in depending on how tall you are.

(There are probably other countries listed on wiki as well, but I found the US one first when I googled.)

Here's a site with a bunch of charts. You can pick a height that's close to yours and see if your "back to waist" measurement is similar to the chart for the average.

As for the inseam/total height ratio, the average for women is 0.45 I believe. A ratio of 0.48 is considered aesthetically pleasing.

I read that you need to place two hands (place hands horizentally) between your natural waist and right under your boobs. If two hands fit, you're evenly proportioned. If they don't fit, you have a short torso. If there's still space left, you have a long torso.
This probably can be explained in a better way but I'm tired.

Yeah, but height is also a factor. Maybe you're evenly proportioned, but if you're significantly taller than average your waist is still going to be longer than most standard sizing, especially if you're not otherwise very large.
