You never admit guilt or wrongdoing and you always qualify any apologies - "I'm sorry you feel that way" rather than just "I'm sorry".

However you should also try to turn any negatives into "improvements" like saying you'll be "closely reviewing our relationships with suppliers to place an increased focus on quality and working closer with our existing trusted suppliers" if you've been burned by shoddy products from a supplier.

"I'm sorry" is what you'd usually say but when you start getting into "professional" matters you need to qualify it or you can end up in a situation where some daft fucker tries to sue you as one of your employees apologises for an issue which they take to be an admission of guilt.

If you don't have any experience with taobao and go by normal retail prices, I can see people thinking that the top and skirt is $30-40, shorts/backpack $10/15, tights $8, accessories $8.

However this box is just shit. Even noobs can't trick themselves to think that this box is worth more than $30. I could probably go into any chain-store and get a similar floral sweater for about $15-20.

That sounds high to me. Do you live in the US? $15 is about what I'd pay for shipping a single figure EMS from Japan to US, and figures are usually bigger and heavier than a few accessories. EMS from China has been cheaper overall in my experience, but I buy more than accessories, so I can't give a better comparison there.

$20 seems par for the course for shipping a bix that size from China. And it's arrived fast from what I've heard in these threads.

It's definitely safe to assume that, even if this goes crashing and burning, there will be more attempts at this in the future. I'm a little surprised it hasn't happened sooner tbh. Shipping is based entirely on weight. The rule is generally that the first 500g is the expensive part, and then every 500g after that is cheap. That's why it's better to do a large order.
However, you can order up to 2kg and use small air packet mail.
I had an order that had only 3 items that couldn't be shipped with my large order, they came to 0.3kg, air packet would have cost me $8 (which is cheap).
You could buy a pair of shoes which weigh 1kg which would obviously cost a lot for shipping, but you could buy a few jumpers/skirts that come to 1kg which wouldn't be that much in comparison...
What lolita accessories did you buy? If it was things like bags then maybe, but if it was just bows and necklaces then your friend charged you way way way too much.

Anyway. For the stuff they bought, I can guarantee it weighed no more than 1kg, maybe even 500g. The shipping wouldn't have been that expensive. Since genso charge you for shipping it'd be around the same, it still doesn't change the fact that they literally charged her 10 times the original value of the items.

I think what happened is they contacted her afterwards so she could be more specific and she realised she could get gothic because it wouldn't be just generic and she could kinda pick what she wanted.
What is going to suck is the next time when they send repeats of items she already owns, if that happens.

I would probably only take on a certain amount of subscriptions at a time to avoid getting overloaded and all customers would have a consultation with me beforehand to discuss likes and dislikes etc. - I could take requests for certain items too e.g getting a winter jacket one month or a big accessory box another month instead of a main piece

I could see this appealing to wealthy lolita's and new girls with money but I'm not sure if people would actually be interested?

As far as her shopping service? I didn't really get to even use her because she strung me along for over a week saying she'd get me a dress and urging me to hurry or it would sell out because it was superrare, and then ignoring my messages when I tried to actually pay her until the dress went on closet child's website and sold out to someone else. It was my ~dream dress~ so I'm really butthurt about this

>> No.7945347

>>7944909
honestly if you're doing something like that as a business, you're going to have to do EMS as far as shipping goes for accountability etc. So you'd have to be buying dresses for $50-60 and shipping would be more like 30-40 honestly. Which isn't unreasonable, but you'd have to check people's measurements and be at closet child every while and the cost of transportation to there and your time is worth more than $10 lol... maybe if you can get an mbok/y!japan as well but then you'd be risking too many stains

>> No.7945372

This. Running a shopping service is really not worth the money at all. The amount of communication between customers, especially to understand their style enough to shop for them, would be a nightmare of work for just $20 a pop. And yes, definitely only ship with EMS or your customers can easily screw you over.

I've ran an SS for lolita/jfashion types and now I'm just doing an SS for Japanese cosmetics for old ladies. The latter is a breeze to work with. People in jfashion think you're their best friend and send you countless emails and are picky and indecisive as fuck. I can't imagine sending one of my prior customers a mystery box without a single complaint at the end of it. Lolitas are picky and rich lolitas who buy burando are even more so. It's a fun idea in theory but I can't imagine your reputation staying good for long even if you did a great job picking items simply because you can't please everyone.

Not trying to sound snowflakey, but it a fairly good analogy about life with a disability. Disabled here as well, I don't really agree with the spoon thing, it also sounds dumb, and accurately represents any and all people in some capacity because even in disability cases, you don't have the same endurance as others.

Mana makes much more sense because you can compare it to people who can use things like pills etc regularly and it works just fine for them, where as people who have the disability are kind of like characters with permanent debuffs.

>> No.7950456

>>7950421
That was kind of why I liked it, because everyone has a different number and it can apply to more than disability. For me, I only use it when I have to explain why I can't do x or y because it's going to make me ill or how a trip to buy makeup caused me to not be able to do something the next day. It's something solid that a person can touch and a visual example as well because it's easier to grasp that way. I have agoraphobia and a host of other diagnosed mental problems, so i modified it into stacking things, when they topple over is when I have a breakdown. (One dice for my roommate hearing me in the shower, another to call the medibus and and one to take it to work, another for the obligatory morning greeting, a few added for lunch because cafeterias suck, and so on. Taking a few off for each benzo I take but adding one if I start to nodd off at my desk because of them.) it works best for my situation because you don't really know when they're going to fall, which is a part of the anxiety.

>> No.7950474

>>7950456
it doesn't work for mental issues because the girl was talking about physical stamina. Agoraphobia and other mental disorders can be treated very easily, you don't do it by talking about muh spoons and crying about it, but by actively going outside as much as you can. I had anxiety and that since I was 12 (seen multiple therapists, not self-diagnosed) and thanks to therapy I'm fine now at 21 and have been for two years, officially. Unofficially it's been longer. It's not a really big deal, you people just blow it out of proportion to make people feel sorry for you. It's not a personality disorder, it's very treatable and it's your own fault for not treating it.
You reek of tumblr.

I'm not trying to get sympathy, it's more of a practical way of explaining it because people don't get it and just assume that Im a little bit sad and anxious because "lol my mom was depressed and got cured with Prozac" I am being treated through intense therapy triweekly, spent four months in a level one inpatient setting trying to figure things out. Even my psychologist I see most often doesn't think I'm ever going to be able to function in the real world because it's an brain chemistry problem. She said the most I can hope for is a part time job and even then would rather have me on social security because I can't even keep shit like self care together because of it. I spent a year trying to live like I always had and it nearly killed me on multiple occasions. I've accidentally rubbed holes in my hands and wrists from anxiety and get frequent heart palpitations from it. A trip out shopping will leave me so exhausted that I'm pretty much bedridden the next day and can't do that more than once every two weeks. Mental illness can be an extremely dehabilitating problem if it's that serious of a case. Mine will never go away because of the underlying cause and it's fairly rare. The hospital my treatment team is at has over 35000 patients and they've only seen ten cases like mine in ten years. Most mental illness isn't disabling, but mine is severely so. Right now, the reason I'm not IP again is because they're trying to find a place that accepts my insurance and can help teach me to cope and be able to live independently.
