Get a doll.

Inflict all of your sweet lolita cravings onto doll.

A blythe is cheap and easy, a resin BJD is expensive but looks and feels nicer. The mini size dollfie dreams also have cute clothes made for them (the bigger ones seem to have sluttier "lolita" clothes, maybe because of the mostly male nerds who are into them)

>the bigger ones seem to have sluttier "lolita" clothes, maybe because of the mostly male nerds who are into them

This isn't really true.

Also, you are an idiot if you think that it would be cheaper to get a doll, they're much more expensive and the clothing sets cost as much as second hand brand.

>> No.7923192

>>7923180

No one has ever reported a success, but I guess you can try.

Other anons have also suggested getting a shopping service to buy it for you, as in, instead of using your own account and shipping it to Tenso, submit a buy request to have Tenso buy it themselves. Some of the anons who clicked through said that there are some additional screens that say there is extra fee for looking in the physical shops for the items, and that payment needs to be COD, which is why they can't charge credit cards for it. So if you're okay with a slightly higher price, getting a shopping service to order it should take care of the COD problem.

>>7923184

Huh. I wrote that because I scored AP's Sugary Carnival Blythe for about USD150-ish. That's definitely cheaper than my own Sugary Carnival at USD400, and anyway I meant Blythes are cheaper in comparison with BJDs.

I also find it untrue that human clothes are more expensive than doll clothes, My h.Naoto/ Btssb sets were around USD200-300, which at that time was the price of ONLY one dress -- and the doll set comes with accessories, the human one doesn't.

As for the comment about dollfie dreams, it's noticeable both in my local comm and in Japan, the girls tend to buy resin BJDs and dress them in fancy styles. The guys tend to buy Dollfie Dreams and dress them like anime girls. The lolita clothes on dollfie dreams tend to be mid-thigh, which is slutty if it was a human.

Is it safe to assume I won't get it? Or is the email ordering process usually long and they just mark it as sold on the site before invoicing? The cart system wasn't working for me, such a bummer if I did miss out.

Do any lolitas have any good references for natural look blonde wigs? I am mainly looking for a honey blonde (like a dark blonde/light brown blonde shade) and a natural blonde shade, not platinum. When you send btssb an email order you're essentially asking them to also check if their other physical stores have it, so if the dress you're after isn't something super duper popular that's sold out acrosss the whole of Japan, there's still a chance that they can find one dress to sell to you.

That's also why the email system is always so slow, it's really better if you can figure out what's wrong with your computer and their cart system, otherwise it'll be near impossible for you to get in on their popular releases as they don't take email orders for those.

Maybe they will be able to find it in a store afterall, but all the colors are sold out now in the cut I want and I am worried I missed it completely.

It's the weekend so they're not working. Make sure you check all of your spam folders so that you didn't accidentally miss an email from them.

Their website says to wait three working days, then if you don't hear from them, drop them another email. If you still don't hear from them after another three working days, then..... well there's a problem with your email communication with them as well.

You cannot back out of an email order, Baby takes that pretty serious and may blacklist you as a flaky buyer. If you can scrape together the funds for two dresses you could buy the other dress, but if you only funds for one... I'd wait until you hear back from them whether your first order was successful or not.

I derpred in >>7925894 as well, I meant to say they don't take email orders for releases still on reserve, and popular releases tend to sell out while still on reserve, so it'll be difficult to order one if you can't get the cart working.

Sadly that definitely means I missed the one that popped up online, but hopefully they can find one in store. Any dark green hair bow would work, if you're worried about the colours matching, wait for the dress to arrive, then take the dress down to your local hair accessories shop when you look for a hair bow.

If you're a bit craft-inclined, you could source a gold book-shaped or related charm and sew it to the hairbow to tie in the books theme, or make your own bow with some matching gold organdy ribbon for a fancier bow.

You can use copic marker(s) to color the part where the fabric shows, use a pin or needle to very gently work the treads back to the original place or pull the snag tail to the inside and leave it be.

Copics are alcohol based so they don't run much with water, and the colored area should be tiny anyway. This works best on dark colored fabric, just in case. Just dab the color on the light threads, don't color the whole area. Pulling the tread back into place can work but it may not mesh up perfectly due to stretching and twisting. The last one will still show but it protect against further damage.

The fabric is possibly from that Japanese fabric brand I forgot the name of that does very similar patterns to popular brand prints right after their release, like chocolate blocks, macarons and pretty much anything else. Lots of people buy their fabrics as a substitude to brand dresses so they can be cheaper, made in different sizes and styles.

I basically look for what I'm after - most loliable frilly stuff is sold as 'office lady' wear so it's usually OL or office lady + whatever characteristic I want, e.g. "OL ruffle/frill" or "OL victorian" or "OL crochet" (which usually brings up nicer lace)
What you get basically depends on what's trendy in China at the time, but most of the time there's lolita-appropriate cutsews in there. I also look through the seller's other listings as a lot of them will do a range of womenswear. I still haven't figured out how to get just cutsews and not blouses, though.

>>7926436
I would only go for a one-piece if you fit them well and like wearing them anyway. MM and VM have fairly standard unforgiving sizing, but their long-sleeved one-piece dresses are generally quite gorgeous (and expensive...)
If you like the idea of a JSK or skirt and blouse better I would go for that, but try to get a more versatile blouse that would work with sweet-classic types of outfits.
In terms of adding different sub styles - it really depends *how* different they are. I had a sweet/gothic wardrobe for a while which really had a firmly sweet and firmly gothic side with the only overlap being generic peter pan collar blouses + plain mary jane shoes.
If you can build it off your wardrobe it may help - e.g. if you are going sweet-classic and like floral motifs, if you happened to own something like Sweetie Violet and had an outfit for that, maybe Antique Pansy or the ETC Pansy Print would lend themselves to being used in either style. However if you're usually a pink sweets/macaroons sort of person, and you want to go for something like MM's St Claire OP or Bisque Doll in a dark colour, you're probably going to have to bite the bullet and start afresh with outfits.

People who claim that there as someone hating on them for wearing off-brand usually are exaggerating their story, or telling a complete lie. Or they were wearing a replica. Unlike off-brand hate, which is a myth, there are a significant number of lolitas who are anti-replica (particularly print replicas).

Sort of a body shape-related question... I'd really like this dress, but I'm not sure if the black on top would call too much attention to my broad shoulders? I know black is supposed to be slimming, but I'm wondering if there would just be too much contrast against the white.

In general but for the personal reason that in most cases you can't wear them in particularly varied ways and I really like the mix-and-match aspect of lolita.

Though a non-patterned OP like the ones you just pictured tend to avoid that issue as your accessories can be the statement pieces of an outfit. I guess it's just that when I think OPs I normally think of very distinctive dresses like Fleur Antoinette or Milky Planet.

It really depends what the texture of your hair is like, the weather, and how well it responds to hairspray/leave in conditioner/smoothing sprays/anything that will make it smooth and less likely to tangle. I imagine I could get one of those out of my dead-straight Asian hair without much tangling with the help of some hairspray and making sure my hair was a wee bit oily so less likely to tangle into it, but I also have trouble getting bobby pins to stay in sometimes. When packing you can cheat for some extra space by stashing things inside your shoes or rolling up your accessories inside the outfit you're packing.
As far as your skin care products..I wouldn't pack anything I can just buy over there. Those things really add up weight wise and you'll end up paying an oversized luggage fee. (those are usually anywhere from $25 to $50 too!)

>> No.7930747

>>7930614
It still might be cheaper to get a bra one cup size up and wear inserts, but taking in a dress is always easier, so alteration might not end up being too bad. I'd get a quote and then decide which route to go.

>> No.7930857

>>7930570

Wear your existing bra, then take measurements (underbust and midbust, as if you're measuring to get a new bra). Use these measurements to shop/price check for a new bra but add two letter sizes to the cup size, and inserts to make up the difference in cup size. You could go really cheap with the bigger bra, since you'll be wearing your own bra underneath, and you can baste the inserts into the cups permanently. If your bigger bra is pretty hard-ish you could even get away without using inserts at all, not like anyone is likely to hit your chest and find out your bra is hollow (and your real boobs are supported by the inner bra anyway).

So you'll basically be wearing your own, comfy bra, then another, bigger bra on top. Not sure that you'll get a full 10cm out of it, you'll get at least two to three inches increase though, which is pretty close.

It might be cheaper and comfier to get the dress altered rather than try the shenanigans with a bigger bra, but if you're worried about resale value you could certainly give this a shot.

>> No.7930899

>>7930614
Push up bras are cheaper than alterations, and from experience you can probably be 5cm under the max measurement and look fine. You would be best getting a push up bra one cup size up from your normal size, buy from somewhere like China or Japan because they're far superior for padding out smaller boobs than anything sold here (including the supposed Wonderbra/2 cup sizes larger bras from VS or whatever). I say a cup size up because I presume you don't actually want cleavage so the volume is more important - if you get your normal Jap/Chinese size they usually have slightly less room in the cup for your boobs in order to push your existing boobflesh up and in, but of course the amount of padding in the bra increases with size.
