Like I mentioned in the last thread, I've used them four times in the past year and have never had any problems. They're pretty slow with responses so I wouldn't recommend them if you're trying to reserve a dress. If you're doing a casual order you should be fine. But if you feel nervous, there are a lot of other SS's to chose from.

REMEMBER:
The holidays are approaching. This is probably the best time to put in an order to avoid all the slow EMS shipping and China customs. All that stuff happened mid November-early January last year. So unless you're waiting for November 11th, try to get your orders placed soon.

Well I've just about exhausted my chinese abilities for one night. I've been getting by talking with a seller about my problem with the use of limited chinese knowledge and google translate. Seller seems to understand me fine and I get the...main idea of what they are trying to ask me (I got lost in the lingo or more difficult words). One big thing I didn't understand and google translate was of no help for was when they repeated used "亲". I could ignore for the most part but at some point it became the subject.

I had finished explaining it all and the seller replied with "好像没有亲” so "looks like there's no ___" NO WHAT THOUGH? I actually gave up at this point and just flat out told them that I didn't understand and asked what that meant but instead of directly answering me I got this:
"我给您重新补发一份吧亲
补发后运单号会发给您
之后您就可以查到了亲"

Can anyone translate this for me? All I got was that they are...reissuing (are they resending the item to me?) and that after they do so I'd be able to check/track it. For the record I had been asking about tracking for my item in the first place so I just thanked them at that point when I saw "可以查到了亲" (but wtf is 亲 here...is it just some polite suffix?).

So yah if anyone could just translate that bit for me so I know what I should actually be expecting? Also a grammar/vocab lesson if you don't mind on "亲". I only know if its use for like relatives and in terms of closeness. Thanks in advance.

It did take around a week for all my items to get to the forwarding service, but it was mostly because one of the sellers stalled for like 4-5 days before sending my item out. packing was very fast; about the same day as it was shipped out.

I personally didn't look at any guide when I used it, and it honestly went very smoothly. Taobao-Finds admin here. I didn't think selfpromoting on the blog would cause such a stir. Really sorry for that and I'm going to cut back to once a week or so for the personal shopper service.

There seems to be some confusion/upset with this too so I want to clear up a few things. First off, it's not only for people that have no clue what Taobao is or that you actually need a shopping service to order from it, but that's definitely who I designed this for.

Secondly, I'm much more comfortable with just shopping for people and then letting them work out there own thing with a shopping service but I offer to use my own Yoybuy account for ordering because I have one and why not rack up some points towards VIP and coupons? I might actually cut out this part because I know some people are gonna be like "You gave me tracking but I want a refund!!!" and I don't want to have to deal with that.

Third, not trying to scam anyone or make anyone think I'm in China and an actual agent. I let everyone know I use a shopping service and they have to pay for their fees plus mine BUT I don't expect my fee until after their package arrives unless they ask me to find their items for them, which then they have to pay that $5 upfront because that's work I've already done. Overall, I'm only making $5-15 so I'm not rolling in dough.

And about the upselling Taobao items on Storenvy, I'm only doing the one product since it got so many notes and $35 for it is basically paying for the fees/shipping and leaving me just over $10 in profit so once again, not rolling in the dough.

So yeah, I totally encourage anyone to try this and sell on Storenvy if you want. I mean, we all know seagulls are doing it and I personally don't see an issue with it.

tl;dr I will cut down on the self-promoting but I'm not going to ditch the personal shopper service entirely and I think anyone who wants to try something similar should definitely do it.

I used taobaonow/spreenow for my toalice purchases, they always order fine (since their english is really good). They will request you to pay the full amount up front before they put in your deposit for you.
Basically, if you order via deposit it's cheaper in the long run, but they always get in extra stock for people to purchase after. Once that's all gone though that's it.

I am using Taobaoring for the first time and I've sent the first payment, but the order status still shows " awaiting 1st payment". Do they have to accept it and change it manually, or does it update automatically and something went wrong? Thanks!

It always updates automatically for me, so maybe something went wrong? If it got through you should receive an email from taobaoring though, alternatively if you don't know what happened screenshot/forward them the mail Paypal sends you when you pay an invoice (assuming you are using paypal)
